  1. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing your inspiring story.
  2. Water just came out of my nose.... Don't drink & read Lapbandtalk... Rule #22.
  3. I have coffee with skin milk every morning. You don't want to talk to me before my coffee......
  4. That is awesome, congrats!
  5. That is awesome!! Way to go.
  6. I self paid and had the surgery a month after my initial doctor visit. I think it depends on the doctor and what pre op tests are required.
  7. It feels sooooo good when people comment about your weight loss. I love hearing that. Just this weekend my husbands best friend said that I looked great and that I must have lost a lot of weight. Boy did that feel good.
  8. I love hearing stories like that.
  9. We all want to wake up skinny, take that magic pill..... But what fun would that be? We would miss out on all those NSVs that we love so much. Enjoy the ride, it's going to be hard with lots of ups and downs. When you do get to your goal weight you'll look back thinking boy that went fast.... Your husband gave you a wonderful compliment, believe it IT'S TRUE! You are working hard at this and people will notice. 21 lbs is a lot of weight. Be proud of yourself.
  10. I love hummus! Greek yogurt, laughing cow cheeses, cottage cheese, just a few of my soft foods. I also like tuna mixed with yogurt or a laughing cow cheese. When you are on liquids sugar free popsicles are great. I also froze Protein shakes in popsicle trays and sucked on them (1 shake makes 6 popsicles). As for food ideas after on solids, I use myfitnesspal, if you use it add me as a friend (ajtexas0) and you can see my food log. Good luck.
  11. Hi yankee. I have been banded for 6 months and have lost 60 lbs. I love my band. It is a tool and used correctly it is wonderful. Yes you will have to change your food lifestyle but it is so worth it. I recommend you read all the threads here, there is alot if good information and good support here. Good luck to you.
  12. Juli, sorry for your loss. Happy to here you are moving forward with your band. This is the time for you. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery. Keep us updated. Take care.
  13. Congratulations! Hearing things like that is music to your ears. Keep up the good work.
  14. Glad you are feeling better.
  15. I love how you sugar coated it to ease the pain..... lol (luv ya, tmf) Good luck with your journey. We are her to offer you support when you need it. The pre op diet is about preparing your liver for surgery and the post op diet is about your stomach healing. Try not to worry about weight loss during this time. Make sure you have a good supply of sugar free Popsicles they saved me during the liquid stage. Take care and keep us posted.
  16. Congratulations on your weight loss, that is great. I agree it is not easy. This is a lifestyle change and the band is one of the tools we use. It doesn't help with the food choices we make, that's all on us. It doesn't help the head hunger or the emotional eating, or the boredom eating that is all on us too!
  17. The first 6 weeks post op are for your body to heal and not about weight loss. It's not uncommon to gain during this time.
  18. Welcome! This site is great, it's full of wonderful knowledgeable supporters. You will get questions answered when you need, love and hugs when you are down, cheers when you are up and even tough love when you need it. It has helped me along my journey. Good luck with your surgery, hope you have a speedy recovery. Keep us posted.
  19. Give your husband a kiss for me. Compliments like that is what keeps us going!
  20. Non scale victories are the best. Congrats!
