Oh wow, I'm very sorry. I have IBS too but I haven't encountered any of that.

Have you been to your internist lately? I know there is a lot of new proactive drugs on the market that can help before problems start. I would probably start there if I were you.

One more thought, are you possibly lactose intolerant? That would definitely add a lot more complications to the IBS.

Yes I'm lactose intolerant too. My gastro refers me to the lapband dr and the lapband dr refers me to the nutritionist whom is a b***h!! Nice huh! She doesn't know what to tell me!

I have had IBS for the last 15 yrs with constant diarrhea after every meal or ice cream etc. Was only diagnosed 4 yrs ago thru a colonoscopy (routine). That dr prescribed me Cholestryramine which is a powder that I mix with diet cranberry juice every morning and drink it, stops all my symptoms, the pain, the diarrhea, bloating and I can eat anything I want. Now, with that being said, since my surgery June 13th, I have come off of the medicine because I don't need it anymore for some reason. Not eating high fat foods or ice cream but I am eating yogurt. I will have a bout of diarrhea ever so often but more normal bowel movements now than not. You might mention the above med to your doctor, it has worked wonders for me the last 4 yrs. Good luck.

I find that making sure I get 30 grams of soluble fibre a day, keeps my IBS at bay.
