  1. Hair loss is going to happen, however; you can take precautions to slow down the hair loss, and help it regrow faster. I do the following: I make sure I meet my daily protein goals, I take a biotin pill every night, I use Nioxin shampoo, and I don't use heat or chemicals on my hair. I started taking biotin about week three, and have had some hair loss starting about month 3 I am currently 5 months out and I am seeing less and less hair loss. Don't freak out about it, it will grow back!
  2. Add unflavored Unjury protein powder to your pureed food i.e. apple sauce, pureed peas and carrots. Also the tuna from subway was easy for me to get down because it is not chunky and tuna is a great source of protein!
  3. I eat six meals a day... it's really three meals and three snacks but they are all around the same number of calories and ounces. I usually have my shake as my first or last meal of the day and it also counts towards my liquids intake for the day!
  4. I had something similar. I called it foaming at the mouth! I would create a lot of saliva and it wouldn't pass so I would throw up. I found that hot teas helped sooth and calm everything. My Dr. also game a steroid shot for the inflammation.
  5. I now have the sex drive of a nineteen year old boy! You will gain confidence when you see your body filling out the SMALLER clothes the way you want it to! Also you can introduce new positions etc.! My husband is one happy man! lol
  6. I am 5 months out and I have only lost 71 lbs, so you are doing great! I just kind of graze all day. All six of my meals are about 2-2.5 ounces and I have been finding some really yummy high protein recipes at food.com I try new recipes all the time. They are healthy, high in protein and yummy so I don't feel like I am on diet food.
  7. You will do great! Welcome to the first day of a healthier new you!

Congratulations! Yes, do enjoy these moments!!
  9. I eat between 1,000 and 1,200 calories a day get in all my protein and vitamins and exercise. I am five months out and still lose about 2 lbs a week and my only stalls up to this point have only been during weeks when TOM was here.
  10. I would just call your gyno, it's probably nothing! I started mine the week after surgery.
  11. Good luck! Try and relax take a bubble bath (because you won't get one of those for 6 weeks, lol). It's ok to be nervous, you are prepared and ready to begin the rest of your life!
  12. I still eat some of my guilty pleasures. I didn't have a funeral bc I didn't want to mess up my preop diet.
  13. I am five months out and can hardly tolerate bread and pasta maybe a bite and I have to chew till its almost dissolved.
  14. I am almost five months out and I have one shake a day... My nut said that is great and if I can tolerate do it. So I either have it for breakfast or an afternoon snack. I use Premier protein shakes at 30g or two scoops of unflavored unjury powder in a fruit drink mix for 40 g of protein.
  15. I had smoothies and sugar free Popsicles. I also lived off of tomato soup..
  16. I take b-12 daily and I keep track of my daily intake of proteins, calories, and liquids.
  17. That's how I felt when I ate to much. So maybe try again with something else and observe your portion size. Give it a little time between bites to let your body tell you your full.
  18. Not at all everyone is different! It sounds like you might be a quick loser! Get well and celebrate the loss!
  19. Just follow the Dr orders, try and reach all of your daily liquid goals! Sip sip sip, never go anywhere without a drink in your hand. Walk walk walk, walking will expel the gas and make you feel so much better!
  20. I drink whine and liquor... I was told to avoid carbonation after surgery (the fizz can expand your pouch) I usually cannot have more than a glass at a time... Im 4 1/2 months out!
  21. I started at 261 and I am 193 at 4 and 1/2 months out! You are so close! Keep up the good work!
  22. Woohoo! congratulations! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life!
  23. I love this forum and chat room, it is so nice to speak with people who are going through what I went through or what I am going through. I have made many friends and I speak with them pretty much daily!
  24. Hey there, I got my surgery over the summer break so I had five weeks to recover, with that being said I feel like I could have gone back after two weeks. Ideally you would want to plan the surgery over Christmas Break, Spring Break or Summer break to minimize sick days used!
  25. I would like to see some responses from experienced sleevers on this question as well!
