    Chat Room

A while back there used to be quite a few people frequenting the chat room to socialize or kill time at work. I went in there today and there wasn't a single person logged in. I was just wondering if anyone ever goes in there anymore? TGIF y'all
  2. I have been on this site for four years now, I am almost 4 years post op and I am in the maintenance phase. This site served as a huge resource of knowledge in the pre-op phase, a motivator and support system in the post op phase and now I am here to try and help others on their weight loss journey! I have only seen a few people from Texas and only a few in the Houston area!

    Breast implants- considering them

I got a moderate saline implant. The pain was non existent because it was just filling out the loose skin that was already there. At my largest I was a 42DD. I went to the plastic surgeon for a breast lift, when he explained it to me, I was scared of the amount of scaring and he said I would be a full B cup... WHAT?!?!?! So he actually suggested the implant and now I am a 34 DDD. I love my boobs and I would do it all over again, just don't get discouraged because they do sit high for a bit most drop between 6-8 weeks mine didn't until 12 weeks. Also take the time to massage them and create the pocket. Mine look and feel real and I love it!

Is this good news or bad?

I also think this is a success, but what I feel your greatest success is from this trip, is not the fact you didn't gain (to me that is the tool doing it's job) what I view as the success is that you chose to still make healthier choices while consuming yummy stuff in moderation to not set yourself back and the fact that you came home with the mindset to get back into your routine!
  7. Life is full of unexpected surprises! I wonder what's in store for today? :) Happy Thursday y'all

each days suprises are simply stepping stones we take within our journey. take each step carefully one by one but be careful to keep your foot on the step! miss the step and you could get shit on your foot! stay focused and be aware of what surrounds you because real people are the ones that will be there to keep you stepping in the right direction with shit free feet!

    Confused°

During my stalls I would quit weighing and start measuring! I would always lose inches during my stalls and that's usually when I would go down a size!

Everyone loses at a different rate, you seem to be a fairly fast loser. I was a slooooowwwwww loser. It took me a year and a half to get to goal. Some people only take 6 months it all depends on how much you want/need to lose, the exercise you're doing and your body. Just keep in mind once you pick up exercising the weight might slow down a bit if yo are building muscle, but you will see the inches fall off of you!

  14. Prior to surgery and the months following, our diets are so restricted and very planned out for us. A question I get asked a lot is what do you eat now that you are a ways out from surgery? So I decided to make a list of recipes and snack/meal ideas I use now at almost 4 years out. Remember, I eat six meals/snacks a day. Breakfast: Frittatta with Ricotta and Mixed Greens- omelet Nonfat greek yogurt with fruit and granola. oatmeal (old fashioned oats) with cinnamon and banana One piece of whole wheat or 9 grain bread with Almond/Peanut butter Turkey bacon with egg whites and salsa Special K Protein Cereal with almond milk, or 2% milk Any kind of Breakfast smoothy with protein powder Protein shake Morning Snack: Apple Slices and Almond/peanut butter Apple sauce Fruit- bag or grapes, orange, pear, banana, etc. Protein Bar Homemade protein bites- meat and low fat cheese and wheat thins and a cookie. dinner left overs. Grilled chicken Cesar Wrap (homemade) Tuna fish with low fat mayo, apple and pickle relish with wheat thins. Grilled chicken salad over spinach and kale with veggies and lite dressing. Turkey Meatball sub with heart smart marinara sauce, low fat Parmesan cheese and whole grain/wheat hogey roll. Grilled chicken fajitas and veggies on a low carb, wheat tortilla. Quinoa with black Beans and corn- Jerky Low fat string cheese Sunflower Seeds Protein bar/shake Sweet Snack Rice Cakes Low Fat Popcorn (Smart Pop) Celery and Almond/Peanut butter Veggies with lite ranch Hard Boiled eggs Sliced avacado Dinner: Turkey Chili- pizza Frittatta- pineapple juice and cayenne pepper, served with a slice of grilled pineapple and steamed or grilled veggies. Any type of grilled fish with mango salsa. Baked pork chops over apple pie filling with roasted new potatoes and asparagus Evening Snack: Low fat greek yogurt with honey or fruit Cottage cheese and fruit chocolate milk Sweet treat Peanut Butter Spoon Protein Shake Fold over peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat or whole grain bread. By no means is this all I eat, but this is a list of my favorites and most used. If you have any questions about recipes or preparation or possible calorie and protein amounts just let me know. Hope this helps.

    Headaches after exercise?

It is because you are dehydrated. You need to hydrate before during and after you exercise. Also appropriate stretching before and after along with a cooling down regimen will help as well.
  17. I had a tummy tuck last december a few things I would like to mention are: -prepare for pain, it sucks. You don't realize how much you use your ab muscles in a given day. -throw modesty out the window, your doc and nurses will be all up in your business along with whoever is helping you at home. -prepare to be grossed out. I had drain tubes for ten days that had to be cleaned out and you just feel gross. -do NOT freak out about the swelling or the scar. It is going to look pretty narley and puffy and bruised. The swelling will go down and the scar will fade.

interesting is an understatement but I do agree on how things seem to workout! some things are meant to be, some aren't! all we can do in life is aim high and shoot for what we feel is the best choices for our well being. as you know, a quick decision is usually a bad one that ends up eating us up inside. just brush it all off and reevaluate, fix it if possible and learn from the pain endured through it all.

      god is great!

    Dating

That's a load of crap, if he stopped talking to you his loss, and he wasn't worth knowing. Focus on you right now if you aren't ready. Do not let this one hiccup ruin your day or put a damper on your confidence.

I'm doing fine. In Denver Colorado. Should be heading home by Wednesday. Blood flow surgery in lung yesterday was successful. I'm walking and breathing on my own. Going to be a long recovery but I will get past this and continue on my journey. I apologize as I didn't want to drag you into this giant complicated situation. I was going to completely close this page but have several on here that I agreed to help. I just wanted you to know I'm ok and getting better daily.

Daily Meal Ideas for WLS 8+ Months Out

This post is just a snap shot of what I may eat in a day. Everyone has different diet plans and intake goals. I am not currently training for anything, I just go to the gym five days a week for light lifting and cardio. I am maintaining and not trying to lose at the moment. I am four years post op so I can eat bigger portions and actually have to pay attention to what I eat. By no means am I claiming to be a nutritionist, so if your nutritionist is suggesting something I would follow their directive, if you feel something is off, then discuss that with your nut.
