  1. Can you tell me more about what you are eating on non exercise days? And what do you eat on exercise days? My BMR shows my Maintenance zone: 1642-2134. Weight loss zone: 1314-1642. My RMR: 1642. My TEO: 2305. (Total= REE + lifestyle + exercise). Does that help you at all? Cause I'm at a loss. It says my metabolism is normal & I burn 171 calories in 30 minutes of moderate exercise.
  2. Thank you so much for posting this. I have been pushing hard at the gym since my 6 month pre op diet. I'm down 144 pounds but have been stuck the last 4 months. In the last 3 weeks I've been following my dr's recommended calorie increase & cut back on my cardio. It seems like my body started shedding more fat last week, although Aunt Flo came a calling & halted my progress so I'm not 100% certain. Lol. I'll let you know where I am in 5-7 days.
  3. I use Miralax every day in a protein shake. My dr says its safe to use daily. It keeps things flowing. Although since I've upped my water intake & fiber thru fruits & veggie snacks, I haven't needed it. If I miss a day, I add it back in for a couple days.
  4. I will definitely share. I think we have to help each other get thru this. It's a tough process & takes a lot of work & heart.
  5. I know that it is very hard to quit smoking, however I have a friend who developed an ulcer so bad from smoking after WLS that her stomach literally exploded. My recommendation is do not start back. Ever.
  6. I think its for fruits & veggies only. I don't remember what I paid cause I was a host. Around $20.
  7. Kim's magic pop is my go to crunchy snack. I top them with laughing cow for Protein. I started a thread about them if you want more details. Only 2 carbs. I am going to have to try the Kale. I also have a microwave chip maker from pampered chef. You can make your own apple, sweet potato, & potato chips without frying!
  8. Kim's magic pop are made at Kroger marketplace. They are whole wheat & brown rice snacks (kinda like rice cakes) but only 15 calories & only 2 carbs. Great when you need a little crunch. I love the onion flavored ones with french onion laughing cow cheese. I use them for spreadable cheeses & peanut butter.
  9. That sounds yummy! I made pepperoni crisps in the oven. I take 8 slices of pepperoni & put on baking sheet, top with 1/4 cup of Parmesan shreds, 1/4 Italian cheese. Serving size is 4 in the attached calorie breakdown. I'm going to try the microwave!
  10. I make this in my magic bullet: 1 small avocado. 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese 4 Tablespoons Dijon mustard. 17 protein! And yummy. I eat this on my Kim's Magic Pop (similar to rice cakes with only 2 carbs).
  11. My surgeons office sells it. But I've bought it online as well. They also have unflavored protein you can hide in your jello.
  12. Have y'all tried the Unjury chicken protein? You can add it to your clears.
  13. I'm Kristie & Dr Weiss did my surgery on May 18th of last year, so I'm 11 months out tomorrow. I'm down 143 pounds total (50 during pre-op diet). I'm user name: KristieAtkinson on MFP if you want to add me.
  14. When I started the 6 month diet process, exercise was a four letter word. I couldn't do a lot. Walking was a chore. I started at 338 (my highest weight was 354). Following the doctor supervised weight loss plan (about 1200 calories a day) & joined the Y. I could barely do Water aerobics when I started & only 3 minutes on the elliptical. I wouldn't have ran if I was chased by a masked man with a butcher knife. During that 6 months, I lost 50 pounds! On May 18th, my surgery weight was 288. I walked the halls every time I had to pee, which thanks to my IV, was once an hour. My doctor cleared me to go back to the gym at 7 weeks post op. I was shocked at how fatigued I felt & that I had to start all over. I was at the gym for 2 hours the day before my surgery. But it didn't take me nearly as long to get back up to speed. I'm now 11 months out & down 143 pounds total. Ive bounced up & down from 195-205 for THREE months. The scale seems like its going to start moving again soon! I'm 195 pounds right now, from a size 30/32 tops & jeans to a size MD/LG & 11/12 jeans. . I'm 5'7. My goal weight is 160. I'm having a corset trunkplasty on May 28th which is estimated to take off 15-18 pounds of skin & fat in my stomach. The surgeon took a girl similar height & weight loss to mine from a 12/14 to a 6/8 after the surgery. I started saving my taxes & anything I could scrimp together when I started this whole process cause I knew I was going to have stomach skin issues. Now I can hit the elliptical for an hour to an hour & a half at a time. I lift weight, low weight lots of repetition to sculpt & not bulk. I can RUN! On purpose! I can run a straight 11 minute mile, walk 3 minutes, run another mile, walk 3 more, run again. That's 3 miles baby! I'm training for my first 5K. I plan to run the entire thing. I love Zumba & spinning and can do the entire 1 hour class without issues. This has been the hardest change I've ever made but so worth it! Good luck to all you newbies, you CAN do this! (If curious about my exercise or food at a year out, feel free to add me on MyFitnessPal, my diary is open. User name: KristieAtkinson) Kristie
  15. One of my friends loves these with hummus! Yummy. I also eat mine with avocado smoosh. (Avocado & cottage cheese with a shot of Dijon, whirled in the blender.)
  16. I think you can order them online. :-)
  17. They are in the deli like over where the fancy cheeses & stuff are.
