  1. I want to check in with my May 2012 sleeve buddies. Where y'all at? How are you doing? 2 more months to our big 1 year surgiversary! My stats: 5'7. Starting weight: 338 DOS (5-18-12): 288 Current weight: 195 Total lost: 143 pounds. From a jeans size 30 to a size 11/12, tops 30/32 to a LG! Corset trunkplasty is planned for 1 week after my surgiversary. Plastic surgeon estimates 15-18 pounds of skin & fat will come off my stomach alone & will take me from a 12/14 to a 6/8. This is the best decision I've ever made for myself!
  2. 4 bags of saline is a LOT! I had one for dehydration & I gained 5 pounds! It's water. It will flush out. No worries.
  3. Starting weight: 338 DOS (5-18-12): 288 Current: 195. Total lost 143 pounds.
  4. Here I am. A friend tagged me in this picture on FB. O_o
  5. That's awesome Kirk! Very encouraging. That explains why I weigh 30-40 pounds more than other women that are my height but wear the same size or smaller pants! (I work out a LOT!)
  6. I HATE cottage cheese. Seriously. But I wanted another source of Protein. I am going to try the pumpkin idea. I also made myself a protein "pudding" 1/2 cup of 2 % cottage cheese 1 scoop of Big Train espresso Protein powder A couple splashes of sugar free Torani syrup. Couple packets of Splenda. Have it a whirl in my magic bullet. Nom nom nom! Calories: 155 Fat: 4.3 Carbs: 17 Protein: 20
  7. I sold a lot of my clothes thru a yard sale site on Facebook & plus size consignment store. I had NICE clothes. I used the money to buy new clothes at Walmart & goodwill. I agree with PDX. Save your money. Pretty soon you will be smaller & smaller. Do a lot of laundry & just have a few things in each size. (Really hard to do when you start to feel SO amazing in smaller sizes!) I went from a size 30 pants, 30/32 tops to currently size 12 pants & large tops. After I have excess skin removed from my stomach, the surgeon estimates I'll be in a 6/8!!
  8. Time for an update on me: Starting Weight: 338 DOS: (5-18-13) 288 Current weight: 196.6 141.4 pounds gone forever! Only 22 pounds & corset trunkplasty to go to get to GOAL! :-) Also, feel free to join my support group on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/groups/DramafreeWLS/
  9. Exactly what Ballermom said! You stop when you hit your goal. Not before. That will also give you more wiggle room when the scale fluctuates from time to time!
  10. I'm 36 & had 2 c sections. I'm screwed on the skin. (Scheduling my closet trunkplasty for May!) I have a friend who was a little bigger than you, zero children, & she looks fantastic. NO skin. None. Did I mention, I hate her? Lol. Your age is certainly in your favor, your skin has lots of elasticity still. Good luck sweets.
  11. Bwahahahahaha! When people seem particularly upset about my weight loss, I tell them, you know that thing doctors have been telling us for years, "exercise"? Yeah. I do that now.
  12. This is what I took from the article & ran with: 1. Reduce sodium from packaged/ processed foods 2. Drink 6-8 liters of Water 3. Do only low intensity cardio 4. Increase caloric intake 5. Do a carb refeed. (Every 4 or 5 days) 4 sets x 15 sets per body part to deplete glycogen stores. Then increase carbs with fast burning carbs gonna start with 100 grams. I checked with my Bariatric Dr & she said 100 grams is plenty to refeed a sleeve. Hope this helps you like it has helped me! Kristie
  13. I use Mio & Dasani Water drops. Love it! And sips go away. I can gulp now. That started about 4 months out.
  14. It must be a Kristie thang!!
  15. I agree with Laura, Fyre you are looking so slim! Gonna call you the new slim shady.
  16. Is the thread officially.......dead. O_o
  17. You gotta get the plug in kind.......as long as your electric is working you can just keep going & going & going & going & going.
  18. So.......only 1/2 of Texas & Mexicans are southerners??? Bwahahahaha.
  19. Personally I go to Kroger & sample the fish, the cheese, the mushroom, olive & hummus bar. Swing by the bakery for a tiny crumb of cookie. I am not ashamed to say that in the process I realized I had to pee and I knocked a small toddler crying over a toy down & shoved an old man blocking the aisle looking at preparation H. True story.
  20. You thought you were gonna win this battle? Bwahahahaha. You underestimate all the rest of us stubborn asses! ????
