  1. I was sleeved May 18, 2012 & am down 145 pounds! From 338 to 193. From a size 30 to a size 12. Congrats on your success!
  2. This is what I did at the gym yesterday. I use the machines. I do 4 sets of 15-25 on each machine.
  3. Honestly, I'm not sure. I am not a big runner but my understanding is that many runners do carb load on days they run. http://www.livestrong.com/article/536766-how-much-protein-carbs-do-runners-need/ I was struggling with Water retention so I began trying the methods explained in the article.
  4. I'm having it done in Lexington KY. The whole procedure including surgeon, anesthesia & facility was $8600. It's a 6 hour surgery. Unfortunately only a oanelectomy was covered by my insurance which ended up looking kinda choppy to me as it leaves all the skin above the belly button. Basically it just uncovers the pubis.
  5. Thank you all! I originally thought I would need them done but at this point I think the scar would be pointless.
  6. It's from under breasts straight down & from hip to hip. It gets the loose skin & fat from upper, middle & lower stomach areas. The doctor estimates 15-18 pounds on mine.
  7. I've been hitting the weights since my 6 month pre op diet & I think it has paid off in my arms. I may be able to avoid plastics there! Although it I unavoidable for my stomach & my breasts. Going to reserve judgement on my thighs for a little while longer. Sleeve date: 5-18-12 Corset Trunkplasty scheduled: 5-28-13 Please ignore my wet hair in this picture! Kristie
  8. I didn't like the strawberry much either. I need to get the honey wheat!
  9. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely try this one!
  10. 11 months out. 5'7" Highest Weight: 358 At start of pre surgery diet: 338 DOS (5-18-12): 288 Currently: 193 (been at a plateau since 2nd week of January) Kristie
  11. Also, I make a chocolate mug cake in my microwave when I need a quick fix.
  12. If y'all want to try the avocado in a different texture, I blend mine up with a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (14 protein!) & 4 T of Dijon mustard & eat it on Kim's Magic Pop (only 2 carbs!). Kristie
  13. The problem is your body can not process 50 grams of Protein at one time. The highest I've seen from doctors is around 30. You can drink it, but you will just pee it out. I'd cut those shakes in half. As stated above, most surgeons suggest 60-70 for women & men at 100. My surgeon put me at 100-130 as my bloodwork showed my protein was low at 90-100 & to support my workouts.
  14. Add chicken breasts & pour a jar of ragu over top.cook 4-6 hours. I eat mine topped with mozzarella cheese. The family eats there's over angel hair. Throw in some steamers broccoli at the end. Yummy!
  15. Anytime you are under anesthesia there's a chance of death. My concern about the flight is after surgery you have a greater risk of blood clots if you sit still too long. :-/ My surgery is coming up soon & unless there's a problem ill be going home after a 6 hour surgery. There's always a chance if there's a complication that I might have to stay overnight, but it is unlikely. The swelling can take awhile but it probably won't be visible under your clothes. You should still be able to have a vaginal delivery. Skinny women with abs have babies all the time. :-) My dr said I can go back to normal life as soon as I'm ready but it will be slow going. Sex he said I might try other positions when I'm ready cause it may be uncomfortable. My understanding is that it is more painful than the sleeve but everyone says they would do it 5 times if they had to, worth every bit of it! I'm happy for you! Ps. My doctor said I could lose up to 40 pounds & their wouldn't be any issues (big difference in losing 150 & losing 40! )
  16. I'm about 40 pounds from goal at 5'7, my apron pulls up & in some but it's still pretty noticeable. I consulted with plastics at 10 months post op but due to being a full time student can't have it removed until I'm 1 year & 1 week from sleeve date. I'm having a corset trunkplasty on May 28th. But they would have done it at 10 months. It depends on your surgeon & plastic surgeon.
  17. I'm glad y'all like them! They get me thru my crunchy cravings.
