I am 8 days into my pre-op diet and lost 13lbs. I'm still hungry but it has gotten bearable. My surgery is Wednesday! Eeek!

My surgery is Wednesday and this definitely scared me! However, I stopped in my tracks and said a prayer for you! I know God is hearing our prayers and you will overcome this huge, uncomfortable, scary obstacle!! hugs

I am still pre-op but my surgeon has me on a vitamin schedule for post op that includes a sublingual vit b

My surgeon was pretty similar to Texarcolina in that I had to sign that I understood that it would not be safe to get pregnant for 18 months after my surgery. As a matter of fact I think I had to sign 3...one for the nut, one for registration at the hosp and one for the doc. So, yes babies are possible.

I hope you take a moment to email the airline about how they handled your situation. So many now are making us fluffy people buy an extra seat. You were very fortunate to have such a nice person as a seat mate. I hate flying because I feel like everyone is staring at me like I am going to make the plane fly lop-sided. Your surgery will be here before you know it!

I have been on a taste testing spree! I have spent a ton of money to find something decent. I don't like milk so adding the protein-y taste to milk is just tolerable. I have found that chocolate is the least milk tasting of all of the brands I have tried. The most tolerable for me has been Atkins Advantage-4/5.99 Slim Fast Low carb-milk chocolate-4/5.00 Muscle milk is decent but expensive-1/3.69 The banana is surprisingly better than the chocolate Oh Yeah drinks from The Vitamin Shoppe has some good flavors but they are a little expensive as well at 1/2.89 All of these seem to be thick and I am still pre-op so I will be watching the list for post-op ideas I tried the Protein pudding with like no carbs from The Vitamin Shoppe and WHOA! I opened it, tastes a speck and promptly tossed it into the trash! That was a wast of 4.00 for 1 can.

I don't want to tell EVERYONE so for the people who are curious about my meight loss I plan to tell them I was on a strict, low carb, high protein diet and that is the truth...minus a detail. lol

I am using Dr. Waggoner but since we are so close...keep in touch!!!! My date is the 13th. I'm so nervous!

Okay so....I am still on this pre-op diet that consists of a cup of spinach a day for solids. I loved spinach 7 days ago but since it's the only thing I get to chew and have been chewing on it every day for a week...not so much anymore. I always try to use a positive when I use a negative so I am happy to report that it is paying off. I am losimg weight steadily as I make every effort to shrink my liver for surgery. I feel like I am always "Changing lanes" when it comes to the actual day of surgery. I get excited and giddy and then scared and wonder if I am making the right decision. I'm pretty sure my lack of confidence in my decision is due to my fear of being put to sleep.

Good idea and good for you!!! However, I have less willpower with my scale than I do with food! haha.

I plan to tell people that I went a majorly strict, high Protein, low carb diet. Won't be a lie Just leaving out some details!! lol

I told my husband the same thing but I am pretty sure he did so when it does come out that he did I will be mad that he told AND lied. I feel ya!

Thanks for the idea of adding something to the broth for flavor. I am still on my pre-op and I would be happy to lick the seasoning off of my daughters chips! I HATE milk so all of the Protein that taste like milk are killing me.

y'all are fresh so I can fresh opinions. Do any of you have any regrets?

I feel your pain!! The Mio in my water has helped a BUNCH and I am aloud a cup of spinach a day that I savor because I can chew!

That's how I feel with my pre-op diet! i have 5 more days and I would chew my own arm off if I didn't think it had too many carbs! Keep your eye on the prize!!!

A nurse at my doc's office had the sleeve. She said she was in her high 200's and she is 5'0", She looks amazing and you can't tell she has ever had a weight problem. She lifter her shirt to show me her scars and I even asked if she had a tummy tuck because she looked so good but she said no. She just followed the guidelines. You can do this!

Oooh! I thought it was the single incision thing-a-ma-bob. Super col to find a local having the same surgery on the same day!!!! I'm using Dr. Waggoner in Cypress. if you do a surgeon search on this sight it will tell you how many patients are on here with that surgeon. Good luck to you and keep in touch! I am in Cypress and getting sleeved on the 13th too! Buuut, I am not doing anything called a spider. Sorry i couldn't be of help.
