Thought I Could Trust My Husband!

SUPER PISSED!!! I told my husband in the beginning of my final decision that I DID NOT want his family to know about my weight loss surgery I'm going to have. I feel like I haven't been accepted at my worst, then they don't deserve me at my best. Anyway...we were just talking about the subject again, and I reiterated to him I DID NOT WANT THEM TO KNOW. IT'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS AND NOT HIS PLACE TO TELL THEM! He already did...two weeks ago! M A DDD!!

Here's a man chiming in... I see a couple of issues here: 1. He didn't honor your request and betrayed your trust. He's your husband and should be your safe place, your confidante. 2. He stole yo

  • I haven't had surgery yet. It's scheduled for August 23rd. So no pounds coming off yet. But yes, while I'm changing, either his attitude can or his address can!

  • Yeah, I'm sure there's a logical, caring reason why a spouse would throw a bunch of candy bars on his recently-sleeved wife's lap. Sent from my iPad using VST

You have every right to be. I am so sorry, that is not right.

I told my husband the same thing but I am pretty sure he did so when it does come out that he did I will be mad that he told AND lied. I feel ya!

Damn that is so not right.... I am sorry he did not respect your wishes

I am sorry he did that. That was very inconsiderate of your feelings and not very respectful. Just remember, you are doing this for you. Who cares what his family thinks. This is about YOUR journey.

It's frustrating when our wishes are not taken into consideration. Did he say he was sorry? I would tell him how upset you are at him. However, now those people are going to be watching you become skinny, and loving your skinniness. ;)

Yep, I'd be angry too. I'm sorry he did that to you. Any explanation as to why? Doesn't really matter as he broke a confidence but I'm curious.

My family know and my close friends. I was going to telll everyone else that I wad on weight watchers. People are so negative and my significant other also told some of his family members. I think he did it because he has in his head I can do it on my own....smh

His excuse was he forgot. My unanswered questions were...why was I topic of conversation...hope you made sure to tell them your unsupportive ass wasn't helping financially, that I was paying for it...and why would you even tell them since you say it's not gonna work, not gonna help. His response. I forgot, I'm not perfect. My response to that was 'i thought I was the only imperfect one around here' (cause he treats me like everything I do is wrong and never good enough.

that will all change real soon watch

I plan to tell people that I went a majorly strict, high Protein, low carb diet. Won't be a lie :D Just leaving out some details!! lol

My finance "forgot" too. I have told many friends and family, but his family despises me. I am not "Latina" enough for him. Anywho, he told them after I had asked him not to and his reasoning was if I could tell coworkers I should be able to tell family. That led to a huge fight about how they aren't MY family.

Hang in there.

Wow..... I think you could tell your co-workers because one they like u and you are perhaps latina enough for them and two u r the one having the surgery........ smh.... people are so funny.

No offense intended in the slightest, but he sounds like a pretty big jerk in general. This may sound harsh, but you're about to undergo a major life changing surgery and you are going to need all the support you can get and he doesn't sound like a person that will ever give that to you. Fortunately, you have your little online family here! :)

Yes, I am happy I have my VST family! Thought maybe I overreacted but that's just the side of me that is used to succumbing to his opinions of me! Love you guys!

If he says things to you like it's not going to work or help, you sure aren't overreacting in my opinion. This is a very big deal and it should be as private as you want it - if someone didn't respect my wishes and told others, especially my spouse .... woooboy, look out.
