  1. I used Dr. Waggoner at North Cypress Med Center (the new one on huffmeister and 290). I am feeling ok. I was on the liquid pre-op for 2 weeks and now a week post-op and a week to go. 4 weeks on the liquid is making me CRAZY!!! How are you and what area are u in? I am near 290 and Barker Cypress.
  2. [quote name=McSleevy ' timestamp='1339009388' post='365907] That is wild! My best friend lives in Cypress and is school teacher in Cy-Fair. My husband and I just moved to Dickinson a year ago to be closer to family and our church. So is your surgeon in the Houston area? What hospital is your surgery going to be at? My doctor is Dr. Shernan Yu at TLC, (their commercials air all the time)... Lol So what is your PRE-OP diet? Hey Ladies! I live in Cypress! I was sleeved on 6/13!
  3. I stopped my pain meds because my vision has been so blurry since I was sleeved on 6/13. it's alarming!
  4. I saw a thread like that as well. I just tell people, "Jesus loves you". and I usually don't get a response back. hee hee. God is Good!!
  5. I had my surgery on the 13th as well and I am on clear liquid for 2 weeks. I never thought I would be looking forward to the Protein shakes again but dang! I am! i would KILL some baby food right now!! That's desperate. I think it's because I was on 2 weeks liquid pre-op as well. I still feel groggy too. I reckon that's anesthesia.
  6. It was pretty disturbing and still tender. I cringe at even having blood drawn because I am such a horrible vein carrier. I would have freaked a little coming out to an iv in the opposite hand. I reckon you can chuckle about it now. Oh yeah...it WAS the anesthesiologist who did mine. I remember thinking, "Oh, he's a doctor, he's got this". lol
  7. Today was a rough day. I actually cried and anyone who knows me knows that I don't cry. I am so hungry!! i have been sipping, sipping and sipping on Isopure, chicken broth, popsicles and water. I have a whole week until I see my doc for my post op check up. Therefore, I have a whole week until I can be moved up to full liquids. I decided I would attempt to change the dressing on my bandage where my drain is. I was obviously doing this solo after my shower. First, I wasn't dry enough. Done. Now, I have to manage to hold the drain tube, a gauze and tape while I hold my boob up! I can say I need more tape! I couldn't see it do I did it in the mirror which had me all cattiwompus! I now have close to a roll of tape, several gauze and tape marks all over my stomach. Wow! Who would have thought that having boobs to throw over would ever come in handy but tonight they certainly would have!! :tongue2:
  8. I did! I loved it! i wanted cake from a bakery so I got one and even had them write "Good Luck Angie Kay" on it! tee hee hee
  9. I used Dr. Waggoner. His staff is AMAZING! The post-op nurse is a sleeve buddy herself. Dr, Waggoner is super nice and came to see me twice post-op. He is at the new hospital on 290. North Cypress Medical Center. i had a private room and again, the staff was great! Dr. Waggoner also has post-op groups and they cater in a food type for whatever stage you are in. i,e., liquids, pureed, etc, etc http://www.cypressweightloss.com/
  10. Thank you all!! I am soooo looking forward to some real peas!! CJ- I would be licking the glass of the vending machine!
  11. I like to play with colors but I don't know how to color code a fart..unless it becomes a skid mark! Soooo, I am 4 days post-op and feeling a little out of it. I feel dizzy, naseaus, and bloated! However, I am happy to report that I was not in as much pain as i would have thought. My nerves had me worked up more than necessary. Surprise! My only pain really came from the gas. I have been walking at all hours of the day and night to get of some gas. My 10 year DAUGHTER heard me pass gas earlier and gave me kudos! I was a little more calm than i anticipated and sat through 4 attempts at an IV and a collapsed vein until the doctor finally came in and put it in my neck. eeek! The anesthesia made me feel super drunk...until it was lights out! i had a private room with a fold out couch and they let my 10 year old spend both nights there with me! The staff was great and the hospital was nice but everyone who came to visit grabbed the tv remote and I wanted to poke their eyes out! The sound of the t.v. irritated me! Neeext...I was not tolerating my liquids! If you think it hurts to throw up when you are not post-op then you do NOT want to experience almost 24 hours of throwing up with a stapled stomach. I firmly believe I was being given too much Morphine. I didn't have the pump but they were coming in like every 2 hours and sticking more in my neck! You could have drawn a chalk outline of my body when they hit me with morphine because I did not move when it hit my vein! I refused any other pain meds and have not taken any since then. Nor have I thrown up. I was kept an extra night to monitor liquid in-take. Now the gas? Wow! That was painful when it got into my chest and shoulders. I am still walking and walking and...you get the point. I am ready to get past the clear liquids for now.
  12. Amy!!! First and foremost...Congrats on your smoking AND your losing! You are doing fabulous!!! As for the Gatorade, I was told i couldn't have it yet but will definitely keep that in mind when I can! I have been drinking Water and diluted apple juice.
  13. Thank you so much! i am usually the one with that response! I will say a prayer and let it go!
  14. What brand?? Sounds good!! Must share!!! hahaha
  15. This was my first bout of anesthesia. I feel thirsty even though I am drinking s much as possible. I still have some lingering gas and I am walking as much as I can. My problem that is causing me anxiety is how weak I feel. I still feel queasy, weak, dizzy and out of it. Should I be worried or is this normal? It's really making me anxious!
  16. I don't think I want to experience this! I wonder if it's forever triggered by sugar...
  17. I actually didn't mind the muscle milk and surprisingly enough, the banana creme wasn't horrible either!
  18. I think a lot of my issues were coming from them keeping me on morphine around the clock. I told them I did not want anymore pain meds so I hope this is just residual meds left in my body. As for walking, I feel the same way so I started walking around the house. Just walking whenever ad wherever I can. I hope you feel better soon as well!!!
  19. I will definitely let you know!! I am hoping to feel much better real soon because tis dizzy/nauseous feeling sucks!! I will say though, as far as pain goes the gas was the worst. I feel so thursty I want to chug a giant glass of Water. I know I won't but I would like to!
  20. That's a good idea!! Right now I pin it to my clothes to keep it from dangling but obviously I would not have anything to pin it to in the shower!
  21. I am 3 days post op and had to stay in the hospital an extra day and a half. I get these wierd feeling after I sip on something. They feel like hunger pangs but I am simply not hungry. I have tried cold, warm, room temp, etc. Also, How long did the dizziness and nausea last? I walk whenever I can. Please tell me I'm not the only one windering why in the heck I did this???
  22. I just started mine but I am also just starting my journey with surgery tomorrow! Here's a link! http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/user/29365-angelakay2/
  23. I chose green for my font color for a reason that I will get to in a moment. The huge news is My surgery is in 7 hours and I am sleepy but obviously not asleep! I am nervous but surprisingly calm. I wonder what the heck I will be like in the morning?!? I told the nurse that until I am knocked out I am subject to walking out from my nerves. She didn't believe me. All I have to say is...SAY I WON'T! I hit 16 lbs loss this morning and got out of the 300's! Wooooo hooo!!!!!! Now for my green story. I was at a friend's house and after using the restroom I washed my hands and reached for a paper towel only to notice it had green peas designed all over them. Okay, I am a fat girl who has been starving for 2 weeks. Really?? Haha. I went out and asked my friend how many carbs she thought were in that paper towel because the peas looked delicious! Sometimes I crack me up!
