Well, after about 8 yrs of considering the bariatric surgery for WL..... I am finally going to DO IT!!! I have diabetes, acute sleep apnea,

hypertension, osteoarthritis, and generally no entergy. SOOO I would like some input into a great surgeon for the verticule sleeve in the Houston area that is in the BCBS network. Anyone know one?

Brian Mirza, He's right off Westheimer, between Chimney Rock and Fountainview. He's patient, thorough and his office is tenured. Really puts a lot of time into his patient's success.

I used Dr. Waggoner. His staff is AMAZING! The post-op nurse is a sleeve buddy herself. Dr, Waggoner is super nice and came to see me twice post-op. He is at the new hospital on 290. North Cypress Medical Center. i had a private room and again, the staff was great!

Dr. Waggoner also has post-op groups and they cater in a food type for whatever stage you are in. i,e., liquids, pureed, etc, etc

I used Dr. St. Laurent out of Willowbrook Methodist, he and his staff are amazing. They hold monthly seminars where you can go see what all three procedures are like. He will explain the risks, benefits, and expectations of each. He has a nutritionist on staff that works with you throughout the process. They are all amazing he performs the surgery in four different hospitals and covers almost all insurances.

I should go back and say I had no complication that was related to his staff...but he is not very involved - but gives you the time he has...I don;t know if that makes sense...his coordinator is awesome, and one of his patients!

The coordinator gets really stoked on your progress.

I also want to say congradulations on finally getting your surgery!

Add yourself to the Houston Active Sleevers group on here...I am tryin gto get us into activities this summer...sleeved or not, all is welcome.
