Wow, curt and to the point. If u took the time to actually look at my vlog it would have answered Ur questions. My Dr has done thousands of sleeves. He uses the covidien tri-staples. He has a 0% death rate. He can work out of any hospital, not just one (I chose the MAR surgery center for my operation). Most of these Drs are excellent, u just have to do Ur research and go with who u feel the most comfortable with.

Check with your doctor. Many use a 1 week pre-op diet. It is going to be up to him if you are ready. When I got my pre-surgery sonogram, the tech said she could tell I'd been good on my liquid diet. So they can tell.
She also said I had a fatty liver, but felt bad and said I had a really cute gallbladder.

Hmm...I'll take the excessive skin over the morbid obesity any day. .I can always have that chopped off! Scars don't bother me either.. You can always make up some very interesting story of how you got them...espionage...saving the US from danger...whatever war story you wanna tell..it can be your little secret...but that is way, WAY better than being morbidly obese and living a half life.

Men are typically attracted to younger women, and as they age are financially stable which makes them more appealing to a younger lady. With the divorce rate what it is, and men going after younger women, it's left a lot of older women without partners. Younger men(which are at their sexual peak)have become keen to the fact that women do not reach their sexual peak till there mid thirties. Therefore these young men aren't forced to play all the games a twenty something girl would require to get what they want. Middle aged single/divorced women have simply decided that to fulfill their urges it's easier to "train" a puppy than to pursue a mature man that is likely more interested in her daughter.

Not trying to upset the ladies here, but speaking from experience... Pregnant women are hormonal, emotional, and weird! You have to keep that in mind. Her body is going through basically the opposite changes that yours is right now. While you're getting thin and healthy she's faced with the issue of putting on baby weight for the next how many months. That alone could be enough of a reason for her to become detached and distant. Add in the fact that there are other women paying attention to you now and flirting and your wife is probably a wreck inside. And believe it or not, her being distant is probably her way of trying to cope with it and not wanting to rain on your good time of loosing so much weight and feeling good (Or she could be testing you and waiting for you to reach out to her, women tend to test us dense men sometimes). Talk to her. Make her feel good and loved. Ensure her that you're not going to stray and that you love her no matter what.
Is potential poontang worth throwing away your wife and unborn child? Is it worth 18 years of child support? Is it worth only being able to see your child half the time if you're lucky? Are you willing to have your child grow up resenting you for not being there? These are all questions that you need to do some deep soul searching over. Don't just give things up and leave on a whim or because the ladies are looking your way now.

I don't know where your getting your facts from but I don't mess around with bull I go straight to the source. Trish was with Dr. Kelly and Dr.Ponce way back when Dr. Ponce was training Dr. Kelly. That's right training Dr. Kelly. Lori has come on the scene as of late and wants to be Dr. Ponce one and only coordinator, if you want to talk cut throat then talk Lori. She has been given a ultimatum by Dr. Ponce. Trish did not burn her bridges Dr. Kelly did. When 2 different companies drop a Dr. there is something wrong with that Dr. And Dr. Kelly was dropped by coordinators with ethics. Trish (WLS) and Linda (a lighter me). Omar who was Trish's assistant now works for Dr. Kelly along with numerous other coordinators. Dr. Kelly is not allowed to work out of certain hospitals because he developed some questionable work ethics. Call the hospitals, do your research! I urge everyone to contact Trish as she is open and honest and does not run down Dr. Kelly. Dr. Kelly has done his own damage to himself. Trish is for the patient. So is Dr. Ponce. They are not into this business to gouge you for your pennys. They actually care and go out of their way for you.
Trish will be listed as his coordinator and pictured with him on their new website coming up soon. Good Luck and for God's sake do your research and ask the doctors questions, your life is on the line. PS You do not have to send Lori any money up front. Pay Dr. Ponce at the hospital.

You're being selfish if you DON'T have surgery. Your obesity is making it harder for you to do your job as a parent and a wife. Once that weight starts coming off, you'll feel so much better that you won't let your family's crazy comments register. It's time they all learned how to help you a little bit...and you're doing your kids a disservice if you don't make them learn how to take care of themselves. No time like the present for them to learn this lesson.
BTW, your husband has the right to say something to you privately, but he does NOT have the right to express his opinion in front of your kids. HIS job is to support you, mentally and emotionally, as well as financially. He needs to support you in front of the kids whether he agrees with you or not. You guys aren't running a democracy...it's a benevolent dictatorship and the kids need to learn that now.
Good luck. I'm sure you'll make the right decision, but IMO you should have the surgery now and start that journey to a new, healthier, life.

Not too offend but I don't think the family thinks of it as being inconsiderate. They shouldn't have to walk on egg shells for us when its the way they have been eating for years as welll. I usually cook all the meals for my husband and I to make less temptation. But sometimes its unavoidable. I'm doing a low carb diet as practice to change my eating habits. We went to a burger place yesterday and I had to order without the bun. Knowing I just did that he still asks me if I wanted jalapeno poppers or soda. It's not because he's being inconsiderate. I think its just not something everyone thinks about unless they are considering wls or on a diet. It's just hurtful to us because we are having to deal with out

No one said this ago I thought I would. Statistically only 3% of obese patients will maintain weight loss. Sure we can lose the weight , but maintain it? Only 3 of every 100 will.

StrangelyNormal reacted to vhoke1 in Gastric Bypass 7/12/12...was Supposed To Be Sleeved..
I had complications with my procedure on July 12th, was released from the hospital on July 25th (spent 11 days in ICU). Basically, my surgeon took out the lap band, attempted to give me the sleeve (which we both agreed was best for me), HOWEVER, because of severe scar tissue from 2 c sections, prior abdominal procedures, the sleeve did not take, & my dr converted me to a gastric bypass (roux n y). in addition, I encountered a bowel obstruction which had to be surgically fixed immediately, & am now home on the mend, & with a feeding tube directly to my new tummy(to give it time to heal, it will be removed next week by my dr).
Although I did not expect any of this, & it was a HARD road traveled, it is what was laid before me and GOD brought me thru it....comfortably on the mend...

I'm going with the earlier Wikipedia comment.
That said, I think there is a huge connection between feelings and fat. And I think that connection, especially with this surgery, requires us all to be grown-ups and face it head-on (as opposed, say, to my usual strategy of brownies as a preferred coping mechanism for stress).
There are a lot of incredibly bright, successful, and courageous people on this site. Ever wonder why people who can sanely and rationally take on adult life can succeed in every but this one? Me too. I'm a sharp girl, so why have I engaged in a decades long attempt at this thing I cannot conquer?
Other than this (okay, and algebra with Miss Henchel in the ninth grade) I have not failed at anything else in my whole life. Mistakes? Sure, but failure? Not so much.
Think I'm going to be depressed after surgery? Hmmmm. I'm gonna risk it. DeterminedGirl

Well, after countless hours and days, I've decided NOT to go through with the VSG. I'm healthy at 90 pounds over weight. I will do everything I can to lose these 90 pounds the natural way. I will be meeting with a weight behaviorist to get help with my addiction called food. That combined with weight watchers will hopefully be what I need to succeed. I just wanted to thank everyone on this site who helped me make an informed decision based on what was best for ME. I wish everyone much success with which ever road they chose on this weight loss journey!!
