Important! Advice Needed

Was suppose to start a liquid protein diet on 8/5 my pre op was for 8/7 and surgery being 8/23. My pre op got pushed back because of waiting on approval so I figured the surgery date was pushed back as well. Well I shouldn't have been thinking apparently because my surgery is for 8/23. I just had pre op appointment 8/14 and learned its still 8/23. MY QUESTION: will starving myself for 8 days be enough time to shrink my liver? I want my surgery so bad, can't wait to start my new life in a new body. I'm 5'4 at 248 as of today. PLEASE HELP

Check with your doctor. Many use a 1 week pre-op diet. It is going to be up to him if you are ready. When I got my pre-surgery sonogram, the tech said she could tell I'd been good on my liquid diet

don't starve yourself, that isn't healthy. What is your pre-op diet supposed to consist of? I would start it immediately.

She also said I had a fatty liver, but felt bad and said I had a really cute gallbladder.

On a liquid protein diet, can I shrink my liver in 8 days

Unless you have been on a bender with food this past week, one week of liquid diet should be fine. I know several people who did not get serious about their pre-op diet until the last few days and they did fine. That being said, I am sure a lot depends on your starting weight, etc. I would ask your doctor to be sure. Then, be REALLY diligent on the liquid diet! Good luck!
