  1. I had the same experience at work, doesn't it feel wonderful!
  2. I am past that stage so I can't speak from experience. I can tell you I have read many posts where people have said they get tighter at that time.
  3. Grandma3 replied to A_in_Jade's topic in The Gals' Room
Call your insurance, they will tell you if it is covered and requirements you have to meet. Good luck to you.
  4. Don't feel guilty, put it behind you and move on! You can't change it so forget it. God luck moving forward.
  5. Awesome job Steve, love a sucess story.
  6. I don't know about pain but you get alot of air, like drinking carbonation. I have been told it's not good for the band.
  7. Not a good idfea to use a straw when you are banded.
  8. GOOD - I got in my car a couple days ago and thought the seat had been moved because my belly was not rubbing. BAD - I feel like I am lying to everyone at work when they ask me how I have lost weight. No one at work knows about my band, so I tell them I am eating low carb, low fat and high protein (all true).
  9. I would never give up, I am just saying until you reach restriction, it is a struggle. I am agreeing with your quote: It's All About Restriction! Otherwise It's Just Another Diet.
  10. My doctor only prescribed them for 30 days. Your symptoms are signs of a band slip, you should have that check and not wait.
  11. I have to disagree with this, I have been dieting every since I decided to get the band. Until you have restriction you have to fight every urge you have to eat the things you shouldn't. Restriction or the green zone can take several months. I am two months out, have had one fill and I can eat anything I want, which I don't. The band is not an easy out it is hard work that does pay off in the end.
  12. Have you tried different types of liquids? Soups, broths, fat free popsicle or fat free Jello. You can also have diet juices or add flavors to your Water. Also Protein shakes, that does help so you are not so hungry. You need to mix it up so you are not having the same thing everyday. Believe me it was a very long two weeks for me also, but you can get thru it. I asked my doctor if I could start mushies two days early and I was told, "No, if you start cheating now you always will", so I waited. Try to follow your doctors orders the best you can, it will pay in the end. Good Luck
  13. I had to hunt for mine after surgery. I am two months out and now it is right there, it does stick out some.
  14. Elizabeth, So sorry this happened to you, you have had a lot to endure in the last year. I hope whatever you decide in the future works for you. I have read this so many times, so just a reminder to fellow bandsters. Do not wait when you are not feeling right, go to the doctor now. Never assume this will get better.
  15. 2muchfun ............. I don't want to find out !
  16. I went to a "band class" today. Over eating WILL stretch your band and can also stretch your esophagus.
  17. I have a glass of unsweet ice tea everyday.
  18. Check this out, not sure what they have for mushies. http://www.bandfriendlyrecipes.com/
  19. Protein bars are a great sweet treat but you have to watch the calories some are high. Also fat free pudding.
  20. I do not have trouble with banana's, strawberries, grapes, pineapple or peaches. I do have trouble with melons.
  21. Thanks for the post, great to know!
  22. The surgeon probably hasn't checked your insurance yet and doesn't know. If the insurance requires it you will have to do it. I had to do it also, went thru the motions but didn't try to hard. Good luck.
  23. You just need to rap your head around it and know that it is something you have to do to get the surgery. Don't think about it, just do it!
