  1. Great job, keep up the good work and you will loose the rest.
  2. It is not un-normal. It is from straining when you go. Preperatin H cream helps. I got some fiber powder that has no taste and put a couple scoops in my protin skake in the morning.
  3. You need to get tough and tell your family you will not permit them to bring that junk in your house. If they want to eat it then eat it at the restaurant, DO NOT bring it home. Next time someone offers you a burger or a candy bar, take it from them go straight to the garbage disposale and grind it up, then get a Protein shake and enjoy. Your family is being very rude and you need to set them straight. Then you need to go back to the beginning and start over. We have all been there, we were all starving on liquids, but it doesn't last forever. You need to get your head straight and get back in the game. I wish you the best of luck but you HAVE to get in the game.
  4. Congrats Anume, I am also 5 weeks out today and you are a few pounds ahead of me.
  5. If you go to lapband.com and click on "How it Works" there is a little video that explains the band. My son didn't really understand the band so I had him watch that. Maybe you could get your husband to watch that.
  6. No minorities here ....... everyone is is reaching for the same goal. To weigh less, be happier and healthier. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.
  7. That pure will power is a tough thing. Hope this fill works out for you. I get my first fill one week from today, excited and scared. PS. I only see one post.
  8. My husband is a real trooper. He went to the seminars with me and has backed me all they way. He has even tried to diet and has lost 6 pounds in 5 weeks with out a band. I am very lucky to have this wonderful person in my life.
  9. There should be someone on call at your doctors office, did you try to call? Sounds like your incision is infected to me.
  10. I love this post. I got the band because: I am rasing my 6 yr old grandson that I want to see graduate high school and maybe even college. To sleep with out my CPAP mask. To shop for clothes at the mall. To have my husbands arms fit around me. To not avoid looking in the mirror. To have my knees and back not hurt. To fit in a airplane seat without a belt extension. And so many more, but mostly for myself and my grandson.
  11. I got a "GE 17 piece single serve rocket blender" at Wal-Mart for $20 and I love it. I comes with two different blades and lots of extra cups. Throw in some crushed ice and it makes your protein shakes taste so much better. It also shreds meat up for the mushie/soft stage.
  12. I have 4 small holes and one large.
  13. Great job. I read these stories and hope one day I can say the same. 60 lbs of potatoes is alot of weight, hard to believe we carry that and more around everyday. Good luck on your continued success.
  14. My fears didn't start until the week before surgery. I kept doubting my decision and two days before surgery I was canceling it. My friend talked me thru it, she reminded me of the reasons I wanted to have the surgery and told me how happy I would be a year from now. She told me she was there for me day and night. Not to mention my husband is behind me 100%. I had not found Lap Band Talk yet and had it not been for her I would not have had the surgery. I had the surgery and did fine, I am one month post op and so far so good. It worries me that I can not eat the things I love like ice cream and cake or drink my case of soda a week. That seems like a small price to pay, I once heard a saying that goes, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. I agree with you, I am not looking to be skinny but under 200 would really make me happy. Find someone to make this journey with you and will be there for you, you will need the support. Is your friend there for you? She would be great support since she has had surgery. I hope you find some peace with your decision.
  15. For a temporary help, my doctors office told me if that happens to try baby powder or stick deodorant. Also be sure it is documented at your doctors office.
  16. I had my surgery with hiatal hernia repair on Wednesday and went back to work on Monday with no problems.
  17. I made my husband switch sides with me because I could not lay on my left side. So I would sleep on my right side half the night and go to the recliner the rest of the night. It only last 4-5 nights and then I was able to sleep on my left side.
  18. I told only a few who I knew would keep this secret. NO ONE else needs to know. No one can make this choice for you, just remember if you tell someone and they tell someone, soon everyone will know.
  19. I have thought that but it does no good to worry about what if's. Just remember why you did it and follow your doctors orders. As the months go by and the pounds come off you will be happy you did.
  20. Great story, I hope I can say the same in 11 more months ............ minus the junk of course.
  21. Things I had that I do not see on your list is: Fish oatmeal or Cream of Wheat Refried Beans Cottage cheese Remember that menu is just a sample to give you an idea of what and how much to eat.
  22. I had surgery on Wednesday and went back to work on Monday. I don't think I would have wanted less but I did not need more.
  23. I am also on Victoza and metformin, my doctor cut them both in half after a 25 lb weight loss. May sugars are in the 95 to 120 range now. You should check with your doctor you may no longer need the Levemir and the Victoza together.
  24. I totally agree with you. The people on this site are awesome!
  25. I was also wondering about the plane ride, and the effect if any on the band. I still have a couple months before my trip.
