Not a good idfea to use a straw when you are banded. :(

I know no straw after the surgery. I used it for the purpose of getting it down quick and not have a gag reflex.

Grandma I have never heard that' date=' can you explain why? I am a straw addict because I have such sensitive teeth.[/quote']

Becausee when using a straw you suck in a lot of air and fast so you burp and that is not good for the band. You will be in pain most likely.

Grandma I have never heard that, can you explain why? I am a straw addict because I have such sensitive teeth.

I don't know about pain but you get alot of air, like drinking carbonation.

I have been told it's not good for the band.
