I would confront her kindly and ask her why she feels the need to tell people when they two of you had an agreement. Then I would go with your idea as a back up.

It was weird at first. I din't tell people about my surgery, so I had a lot of weird looks when they saw my portions size. People gave me the "you know you eat way more than that" look lol!! Family and close friends that knew, just questioned me a lot and some will just urged me to eat a little more lol!
I also went through a phase where I got nauseous watching people eat.

How do you not stay in the hospital though? I required IV fluids for a couple days and couldn't leave the hospital.

chewing something and spitting it out is an eating disorder as well... it's something anorexics and bulimics do. I don't think that should be the solution, you're just finding a way to give into your eating addiction... just my 2 cents

I will be 2 weeks post-op tomorrow too and proir to surgery I don't think I knew what it really felt like be hungry since I ate all the time for other reasons! Bored? Make something to eat. Mad about work? Eat something good. Sad or depressed? Eat something. I would eat for entertainment and pleasure even when there wasn't something wrong. I guess what I am getting at is that you need to recognize what triggers your cravings and why you choose food as your fix-all. There are support groups and sites available to help you develop ideas for how to change the role that food plays in your life. A big thing that helped me was to think of better ways of finding pleasure besides eating. Hobbies, or other things like treating yourself to a new book can become your new reward vs. food. Talk to your doctor too about support groups in your area, and good luck!

Eating or binging... These are behaviors that you need to start working on now.. This surgery is a tool to help aid you in weight loss but not a CURE. food addiction is still something that needs to be addressed.

When you have a Tummy Tuck they can address this by pulling it up. So tummy gets pulled down mons pubis can be pulled up a bit smoothing it out they can also Lipo since you can't put that thing on a diet ask your plastic surgeon when you go for a consult

you should be able to handle a little more at 8 weeks. At 8 weeks, I survived on Chili( homemade with extra meat and Beans, no oil), Greek Yogurt, Crab salad, Black Bean soup( with spinach and chicken), Quacker Oats high Fiber oatmeal, Spinach, chicken, Isopure Protein Shake and water:)

LaBelle509 reacted to magpie30 in 52 pounds gone. When do you cut ties with your Dr?
After the first year my doc only wants to see me once a year, just to make sure things are going ok. It also helps them track and identify long term successes/ failures/ complications so that future patients can make a more informed decision. I have no problem going in once a year to check in and maybe get a little blood work done. But it's really up to you. If you think you don't need or want to go anymore, then don't. But like others said, it might be a good idea to make sure your insurance doen't require it for so long after.

LaBelle509 reacted to WhoozisAnyway in One year Surgiversary . . . and a new life!
I haven't been on VST much the past few months, I moved most of my activity over to MyFitnessPal. However, today is my one year "Surgiversary" and I have so much to be thankful for.
I lost 81 pounds, from 274 to 192, and still losing (verrrry slowly now).
I went from sizes 22/24/2X to 8/10/M, bra size from 42DD to 36C/D(treated myself to a fitting today, yay!).
I lost a full shoe size.
I lost high blood pressure, hypothyroid, plantar fasciitis, and Vitamin D deficiency.
I lost pain in my hips when laying in bed.
I lost being out of breath constantly and being drenched in sweat with the slightest exertion.
I lost excruciating back pain that left me with a possible permanent limp.
I gained strength and stamina (from working out at a gym).
I gained the ability to push myself through first Water aerobics, then elliptical, then strength training, then spinning, Pilates and yoga.
I gained (most of) my self confidence back.
I gained more energy than I've had in my entire life - and I'm almost 43!
I gained the ability to buy clothes from any store I want.
I gained the joy of not being too embarrassed to have my photo taken.
I was very lucky and have had zero complications. I've never gotten sick. I credit this to following doctor's orders! I'd still like to lose another 10-20 pounds, but it's ok if I don't. I have some jiggly skin and cellulite, but nothing I can't live with. I couldn't care less about plastic surgery. If hubby doesn't care, then I don't either. I did lose some hair but not too bad. I seem to break out with acne a lot more.
So, that's me in a nutshell. My hubby and I are celebrating with a little champagne tonight, and tomorrow I'll be back at the gym for spinning and yoga, and recording all my food on MFP. VST was an amazing lifeline for me pre and post surgery and I'll always be grateful to all of you for your support, honesty and assistance. Onward and upward!

Hello all! I am a lurker and read most posts. I just want to lend a little encouragement if someone needs it. I had my surgery on April 24th last year. I started out at 297, lost 15 per surgery and am now 167 with a total loss of 130#. I still have 7 lb to go to reach my goal of 160. I am 5'8" And a size 10. I have tons of skin especially on my stomach. I plan to have a TT and breast lift with augmentation in September.

To the OP some tough love here. You need to pull up your big girl pants and stop this nonsense. Did you get 85% of your stomach removed to go and eat a BIG MAC? You have weight to lose and will NOT be successful by doing this. Join a support group if you need to. Call your NUT. Please get a grip and stop this sabotage. I truly wish you all the best and success, you can do this!!!

LaBelle509 got a reaction from Butterthebean in Can i eat pureed food early if its doesnt yrt my stomach?
At two weeks out, your body is not in the losing stage. Your body is healing at this point. You are still pretty swollen and still holding most of the fluids that you received through the IV. Be patient, once you turn the corner and start eating a little more, the weight loss is going to hit you

Good luck tomorrow! Walk as soon as you can, and as much as you can. Stay on top of your pain, with proper pain management. Take your medicine on time. Once you are able to drink: SIP, SIP, AND SIP!!! AVOID DEHYDRATION AT ALL COST!!!
It's normal to feel nervous but do not stress. It will not benefit you at this point. Healing starts in the mind and than the body follows
