  1. I make salsa chicken - chicken thighs, jar of salsa; cook in crock pot for 3 hrs. Teriyaki Salmon - add 1 Tbls teriyaki glaze and a pineapple slice.
  2. Congratulations! You're on your way.
  3. After a frustrating morning getting a referral for the Pulmonologist, I really was not in exactly a good mood. While filling out the 15 page pre-surgical questionnaire, I got funny and answered "human" to the race question. Now, if they want my ethnicity... Well it was funny to me.
  4. Forgot **** I cook it on low for 4 hours after the salsa is added. Sowwy
  5. I take boneless chicken thighs and maybe a cup of water and cook on high for an hour or so. Then I drain the liquid and add a small jar of salsa. My family loves it. It tastes too dry if you use breasts.
  6. I have to have a pulmonary clearance. I sure am hoping they only do the breath test. I've had them twice before and they did not let me get "ready". I did well, but the rotten headache afterwards was yukkkk.
  7. I have a blender, food processor and a ninja. I LOVE my Ninja.
  8. I had neve considered RNY before. I started out thinking I wanted a lap band; when they told me about the port and refills, etc, I started researching the sleeve. I am happy with my decision.
  9. Email her. I kept after mine until she finally emailed me back saying the paperwork was submitted.
  10. Congratulations! I got approved today, too
  11. I had already done my 6 month nut visits, the psych, the EKG, Chest X-Ray, H Pylori. The coordinator said the only thing left was a clearance from a pulmonologist because I have sleep Apnea. Since I received the approval today, I will find out anything else on my visit on Wednesday.
  12. I'm always the one ordering a passion fruit iced tea with no sweetener. I get the "I know, I know...no sweetener". LOL
  13. I just got the call from the surgeon's office. I've been approved. I will have my first office visit next Wed and they will give me my surgery date then. God is soooooooooooooooooo Good.
  14. I have Cigna. My paperwork was faxed over on Thursday. Today, I got a letter from Cigna ( copy of letter for Surgeon ) asking for more info. Have you tried emailing the coordinator? Mine contacts me thru email mostly.
  15. I have a Ninja and a juicer. I like making carrot juice and adding unflavored protein to it.
  16. I already have "half-timers" - half the time I forget and the other half I just don't rememeber. The only thing I do not want to forget is why I am having the surgery and to never get back to my obesity.
  17. I am grateful that my psych had the bypass surgery 7 years ago, so she knows what she was talking about. She kept asking me if I was sure I wanted the sleeve and why. I told her I wanted something that could not be reversed; did not want the malabsorption and the nausea.
  18. I am allergic to Tylenol and ibuprofen. I can't have aspirin or Aleve after surgery. I guess I will just have to endure.
  19. I would like any size that removes the ghrenlin hormone. But, the smaller the better for me. Easier to fill and be full.
  20. I will ask my dr if I will have an abdominal binder put on me after surgery, if not, I will certainly visit babies-r-us.
  21. Caffeinated coffee has a dehydrating effect. I personally take a cup of decaf coffee, add chocolate protein powder, and ice cubes and make my own mocha frappe.
  22. As far as mental conditions, I am bi-polar. The psych told me bi's do not do well because they stop taking their meds when they feel better. So, that is something to remember. Since I was only diagnosed 5 years ago, I know what "even" feels like and would never want to go back to highs and lows.
  23. I do the fast every January. I don't know about post-op; most of the vegetables have carbs. I loved the Ezekiel bread, but I am guessing that is a no-no post surgery.
