  3. I felt the same way at 2.5 weeks I cried for like two days I felt depressed and just wanted to feel normal and questioned if I had done the right thing and that's also including that my recovery didn't go so great I ended up in the hospital for two nights at my 2 week point. I am a month out today I can tell you it does get better a 100 times better I'm still on soft foods, I'm down 22#s and for the most part I feel normal most of my days. I say most because I'm a pharmacy school student and my schedule is hectic and crazy so some days im just super drained and tired but I blame school not my sleeve on those days lol !! Try and stay positive as much as you can you will get through this stage.
  4. I had lapband done in 2010 I lost 40 but in 2011 my band had a leak and I gained it all back plus some extra since I was cash pay I felt like I wasted alot of money but it did help me not get any bigger. When it came down to getting the revision done I was scared because once again I was cash pay and didn't want to spend the money and have WLS not work again. Well I ended up getting the sleeve done August 1st and im down 21 pounds my recovery was harder than it was with lapband but as the weeks go on I'm feeling better and better and so glad I decided to take this journey I have hope and faith that this WLS will work for me this time around!! Also I'm never hungry which is weird for me because food used to be always on my mind even with the lapband!!
  5. Your success is really awesome to hear!!! I had my surgery August first and weighed in at 206 I'm currently at 185 I'm 5'2 you give me hope that someday I will reach my goal weight!!
  6. Hey Jimmy I have a membership at golds gym what are your opinions on the body pump class (it is a weight lifting class and I believe it covers the whole body but I haven't been so I'm not sure) is that a good place to start at?
  7. I used to get cold easily to start with but now I feel like I'm even colder more often I sleep with a heating fan and a heating pad on some nights!! I also live in Texas where it's hot and I wear hoodies and jackets I'm sure people look at me like I'm crazy lol!!!
  8. I thought two was gonna suffice but I ended taking three weeks off!! Everyones recovery is different I had a few bad days in mine and that's why the three weeks worked better for me!! Good luck in your journey and I will pray for a speedy recovery for you!!
  9. I was sleeved on August 1st and I've lived here for four years and its always great to meet new people that have or will be taking this journey!!!
  10. Thank y'all for the support I know in a few weeks hopefully days I will be glad I made this decision but it's hard when you have a harder recovery than most!!
  11. So I went to the ER two days ago cause my pain was way worse than what my pain meds were covering they ended up admitting me and running a bunch of test and putting me on a pain pump just to release me yesterday and tell me everything looks normal. So far my pain to do has been low!!! But I'm crying in bed wondering why i did this to myself because I just don't feel normal or like myself. When does it get better? When do you feel like yourself again?

  13. I'm from San Antonio but had my band revised to sleeve at Baylor Medical center trophy club tx by Dr. Marsden. Overall I had a wonderful experience I was even pleasantly pleased when dr. Marsden came by room the next morning to see how was doing considering that most WLS doctors seem to busy for their patients!! And the staff at baylor medical center were awesome very on top of everything!! I would recommend this doctor and place to anybody!! my surgery was August 1st and I'm down 14lbs!!

  15. I wouldnt worry I cheated every day of my pre op diet and I told my surgeon he said not to worry about that usually enlarged liver is in men and the last 5000 surgeries he's done he only had to stop once cause of the liver and it wasn't do to nutrition!!! however since I've had my surgery August 1st I haven't cheated or broke the rules once the possible outcomes are far more dangerous just make sure come surgery day your ready to comply 100%. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery!!

  17. Thanks guys for the input I think i might give the children liquid Tylenol a try see if it helps any!!!
  18. So my surgery was August 1st and I still feel plenty of discomfort in my body I'm almost out of pain meds and I've been taking the lowest dose possible to ween myself off of them. The problem is pre surgery Tylenol use not do much for me. So my question is to help alleviate some of the aches what can I take??
  19. Hi I'm 5'2 and im 12 days post op and down thirteen pounds hope to keep see that number go down!! Starting weight was 206.
  20. When I had my lapband I hardly had any pain and only used the Loratab elixir for one day but for some reason when I got my sleeve done August 1st the pain has been much worse for me I'm actually still taking my pain meds but I've reduced the dose to very little.
