After spending nearly 9 months trying to comply with my insurance company BCBS (ppo) I have not been able to do so for the VSG. They will not pay for the sleeve unless my BMI is above 50. But I was unaware of this until I met all other requirements and my paperwork was submitted.Although they would cover bariatric surgery, my options would only be the lap band or roux en y. Neither of which I felt was right for me. So, I contacted Medical Tourism Co. and will be having my surgery in Mexico for $4700 with Dr. Fernando Garcia.
