  1. Awesome! 8lbs in one week is amazing! Nancy - I know what you mean! My sister and cousins have also started being serious with carb counting and limiting fat. My cousin who is away from home for college called me at around 8PM on Saturday. She wanted to go out for dinner with her friends, but she wanted me to tell her what I would order if I had been there. I said grilled chicken and some Soup. She called me on Sunday and told me that she had ordered just that, and she loved the food and didnt feel hungry later. She said she is going to visit a nutritionist and have a diet plan designed for her. Many people in my family and office have said that I have inspired them to take serious steps towards a healthy life style. 5 months ago, that would be a laughable statement. Today, I can accept that statement with pride and I'm so in love with my sleeve!
  2. I dont have many options where I live, either. And that is so frustrating! Soon after my surgery, my protein source was Optifast VLCD. 19g protein in one serving (46g). And I could get only the vanila flavor. I dont care much for the taste, but I dont really hate it either. If I HAVE to drink a shake, I manage with Optifast. I saw that Click was sold on ebay India. I'm going to order this and try the mocha flavor.
  3. That is a really good idea. I've seen posts where sleevers or those to be sleeved worry that their spouses are not supportive or are very scared. A forum for the spouses can help ease their mind!!
  4. Awesome! Congrats!! I wish you a speedy recovery and great weight loss!!!
  5. AWESOME!! I cant even imagine running a marathon! I hope I get to do this soon!
  6. I experienced the same thing. I was sleeved on Jan 11, and for more than 2.5 months, I did not have any inch loss. Then at the 3rd month, I started losing inches. Now I have lost nearly 16 inches total (in arms, chest, waist and butt combined). So dont worry. You'll see inch loss soon
  7. If I know the person is contemplating surgery, I reply just like you - # pre-op and # since surgery. If they are just curious, I just say an approx number.
  8. I'm the total opposite in this case. I used to have a bit of an oily skin, but after surgery my skin dries up quite fast and I need a moisturizer. Guess I should see a dermatologist soon.
  9. Amazing transformation!!! Congrats! PS: I LOVE that chin!!
  10. So sorry to hear that! I hope and pray everything works out fine for you, just like it did for Sassygirl's friend!
  11. Awesome! Congrats!! Success stories like these inspire us all! If it is okay, could you please share with us what your surgery weight was and how much you have lost? I hope to be in onederland in 2 months. Fingers crossed!
  12. Congrats! I pray that you have a safe surgery and speedy recovery!!!
  13. I know! I havent been in the 80s or 70s since my high school graduation LOL!
  14. You look FAB !! I cant tell you how much you've inspired to hit the gym frequently. That is one area I really struggle with. But seeing those arms and legs -- I'm soooo determined to do whatever it takes to get in shape!!
  15. Wow! You look great! Congrats on your success and all the best reaching goal soon!
  16. What an amazing transformation! Congrats on your success so far and all the best reaching goal and becoming a great personal trainer!
  17. The third week stall happens to almost everyone. I had that stall too. For like 10 days or so. Dont worry. It will pass and you'll start losing pretty fast.
  18. Awesome! Bet you did your happy dance right there! LOL Congrats!
  19. That is a huge accomplishment! Congrats! Sooooo happy for you!
  20. Oh no you are not. Trust me! The stall will pass soon enough and the weight will start to drop. I'm more than 3 months out now, and hit my 3rd stall a week back. I have come to realize that this stuff happens all through our weight loss journey. After my second stall I promised myself that I'm not going to add to my agony by weighing every 3 days. Now I weigh every week or 10 days. If you weigh very often, try weighing just weekly.
  21. Congrats! That is a great weight loss! I wish I had lost more in my first month I lost only 22lbs in my first month. That awful stall that lasted for 10 days!! Grrrr
  22. That is so awesome! Congrats! I just entered the 90s (I'm 96.5 kgs now), and cant wait to enter 80s
  23. Nice! Thanks for sharing. I love the last one!
  24. When I go out, I usually get either of these: 1. Cream of tomato or vegetables soup 2. Grilled chicken or chicken tikka with very little oil(it is a famous Indian dish - you can google for recipes) 3. Paneer tikka (Paneer is Indian cottage cheese - you can make it at home. There are some delicious recipes on youtube) 4. Stir fry tofu 5. Cheese omelets Sad thing is, I can only have around 2 to 3 oz. But now, I'm enjoying the talking rather than wolfing down whatever is on the table LOL
  25. Simple recipe and sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing! I'm not a good or creative cook. So I dont have recipes to share - sorry!
