I know this sounds crazy but Iam worried if Iam losing to fast. U had surgery on 4/16 , and have been trying to eat but it so uncomfortable that , I end up only having 2 / 2 oz meals per day. I have lost 20 lbs in total Iam starting to feel like something is wrong. Should I be able to eat more, and I also thought the weight lost would be slower, help!!!!!

You're just over 2 weeks out, right? 2 - 2 oz meals a day sounds okay, so long as you are drinking Water and trying to get some Protein in, possibly through Protein shakes. Your sleeve's capacity is TINY right now, mostly because everything in there is still swollen. I could barely eat half an egg at first. I literally ate my meals out of the little tiny glass dip bowls that hold about 2 oz...and sometimes that was too much food! You're normal as far as ability to eat.

Enjoy the fast weight loss while it's still rocking and rolling. It will slow down, but we do drop a LOT of weight in a hurry at first. If you're really concerned, call your doctor, but 20 pounds in two weeks doesn't sound over the top for someone at your stage to me.

I was sleeved on 4/11 saw my surgeon yesterday, I lost 22 pounds the first two weeks and I can't eat more then 1.5 oz of tuna or anything. I drink my water and protein. He said I was right on target. Also said to come back in 4 weeks and said I should be down another 20 to 30 pounds by then. Enjoy it! Your doing great. Just remember to sip, sip, sip so your hydrated. Good luck!!!!!

At 2 weeks out i had lost 23 lbs and at 7 weeks out i had lost 53 lbs then at 8 months 100lbs and at 1 year 150 lbs. . . i never once thought i was losing too fast, my doctor was happy with the results, i felt great and everyone commented how "healthy" i looked. . then at 1 year it stopped dead in it's tracks for 7 months i was at a stall. . .then in the 8th month the weight started off slowly again, i lost another 10 lbs and that was it. . . now i'm out 3 years and have maintained my current weight. . no more losing but definately no more gaining. . . and to me that is the most important. . . if i'm to lose more, well good for me. . . but if not, then that is ok too. . at least i'm not 350+lbs any more and feel and look good! Sit back and enjoy the ride. This is why we chose this procedure is so we can shed our excess weight. You are doing great! Lissa is totally right about the amounts of food we can eat at 2 weeks post op. Not much, that's for sure. Make sure you get your water in and protein is extremely important.

Congrats! That is a great weight loss! I wish I had lost more in my first month I lost only 22lbs in my first month. That awful stall that lasted for 10 days!! Grrrr

Oh no you are not. Trust me! The stall will pass soon enough and the weight will start to drop. I'm more than 3 months out now, and hit my 3rd stall a week back. I have come to realize that this stuff happens all through our weight loss journey.

After my second stall I promised myself that I'm not going to add to my agony by weighing every 3 days. Now I weigh every week or 10 days. If you weigh very often, try weighing just weekly.

Isn't that ,funny? Think we are losing too fast!! Only issue with Quick weight loss is muscle loss which I experienced AND sagging skin is worse with quick weight loss. Especially face and neck in older individuals ( I am 58! ????) but hey, the weight and health issues are a moot point now!!!! Enjoy!

You're losing weight fast, not necessarily fat. Especially during the first 1 - 2 weeks, about half of what you lose is Fluid. From dehydration, depleting your sugar stores (e.g. glycogen), etc. So figure that you're about two weeks post-op, and have probably lost 8 - 12 ls of fat. That breaks out to about 4 - 6 lbs per week, which is just about right for being so freshly post-op. Enjoy it while it lasts, it will slow down and you're just gearing up for that 3 - 4 week stall milestone.

Here's an idea of how much fluids (and everything else) come into play. In my first week post-op I lost about 40 pounds. Obvioulsy it's not physically possible to lose 40 lbs of fat in one week unless I had it cut off or sucked out.
