  1. Thank you all! You guys are the best!! I wish you all a great success in this journey !!
  2. Hi buddies, Wanted to share a happy news and do a happy dance with you all..... I've finally arrived at Onederland........ This is such an amazing feeling and I've been waiting oh so long for this. I was bouncing betwen 201 and 203 for the whole month practically. On Monday I weighed 90KGs (198lbs) but I didnt want to post so soon coz I though I may go up a pound again or something. So I weighed again yesterday and I was 89.5KGs !!! Crossing that 90kgs border is like getting a Visa to dreamland. I still cant believe it happened. I've decided to enjoy this feeling to the fullest before worrying about crossing the 80Kgs line and stepping into 70kgs.. LOL
  3. Thank you very much for sharing this! Here you are, trying to inspire strangers and help them through this journey, I think you'll be a great mother! I pray that your dreams come true and you have children of your own. All the best!
  4. WOW! Congrats! I'm on the brink - will see you in onederland soon
  5. I wish you a safe surgery and speedy recovery!
  6. Sorry - off the topic, but... DORRIE - is that you?! This is the first time I'm seeing your picture and you look FAB!!!
  7. That must have felt AWESOME!! Keep up your good work!!!
  8. Awesome!! Congrats!! To me Clothes are the best NSVs - they give you instant pleasure when you realize the surgery has made all the difference in your life!! Would you believe me if I say I've NEVER worn a jeans and T in my life? I live in India and I always wear our 'traditional' clothes (Salwar Kameez - if you would like to google it ) I've dreaded wearing jeans coz my thighs are huge and I always felt like jeans would look too odd on me. I cant wait to lose inches in my thighs and wear my first pair of jeans & T !!! LOL
  9. It takes a lot of courage to admit our issues in public. I salute you for your courage! 70lbs in less than 7 months is a serious achievement. Reading this has made me understand that most of us slip every once in a while but we really need to get back on track. Thanks for sharing your story!! PS: You look great!
  10. That is AWESOME Lissa!! Congrats! What speed do you hit on the eliptical? I cant go past 6.5
  11. That is sooo awesome!! And your kid is sweet!
  12. Thank you all so much!! All the best to reach your goal soon!!

I sure was tempted, but I didnt cheat. I was so scared I was going to damage my sleeve. In fact, I started solids one week after the recommended time because my first attempt at solids did not go well. I had this stuck full feeling the whole day after just a bite of cauliflower (well cooked and soft). So I went back to pureed and started solids only after a week. LOL
  14. Hi all, Just wanted to share an NSV with you all... My cousins spent the summer vacation at my home and last weekend we all went to an amusement park. Now, I used to go on all the rides even before surgery. I have never felt embarassed or anything. But those 'single' seats always felt cramped and was a tight fit for me. It used to be a bit of a struggle to put the latch on the safety bar - my belly always resisted the attempts LOL! But yesterday I did not have the problem at all!! There was a solid inch or two between my belly and the safety bar. I cant describe in words what I felt at that moment! Sure I see inch loss in my dress and everything, but when I look in the mirror, the only areas that I see the difference is in my face, neck and collarbone. This weekend proved to be my best yet this summer! Anyway, I was so happy and just wanted to share my happiness with my VSG family!! Take care!!
  15. Awesome! Congrats! I can totally understand the collarbone victory. I cant stop standing in front of the mirror and staring at it LOL!
  16. Congrats on getting sleeved! Glad to hear everything went fine. Gas pain will subside soon. I had it for like first 2-3 days, First day was the worst. I started walking only on the second day and once I started walking the pain subsided fast. Be sure to get in the required nutrition per your surgeon's advice. Stick to your meal plan. You'll see great results. I wish you a speedy recovery and great weight loss!!
  17. Well I tried some nachos (3 or 4 chips) and salsa when I started solids. My sleeve loved it, but I soon realized that might be my slider food, coz it went down very easy for me. I'm staying away just in case. But salsa is great - so you could try it once in a while when you are in mushed/solids phase.
  18. WOW! That is incredible! Keep up the good work!
  19. You look great! I truly hope I see such a transformation in myself when I hit my 1 year mark!
  20. Hi and Welcome! This is a great community and people here are very helpful and genuine in their efforts to educate the newly sleeved and those who are contemplating sleeve. I know you'll enjoy getting to know more about VSG. I was sleeved just 4 months ago. I used to drink Optifast in my pre-op diet. Dont like the vanilla flavor, but I think the chocolate is okay. I like the Vanilla better with a half tsp of coffee blended with cold milk. I dont take the Protein shakes with Water -- I always use cold milk. I used Optifast because it was a more balanced Meal Replacement for me and it had 19 to 20g protein in one serving (46g). Wishing you a safe surgery, speedy recovery and awesome weight loss!!!
  21. You look fab Lissa! You are a great inspiration to all of us here!
  22. Great transformation! Congrats!
  23. Wow! you are already a champion! Keep up the good work and all the best to reach goal soon!
  24. Awesome! Congrats! Keep up the good work!
  25. I dont count calories either. My surgeon told that any kind of calorie goal will not work at the beginning. When I asked, he said to just concentrate on getting in the protein and fluids and taking my vitamin, iron and calcium meds daily. It kinda makes sense because I cannot push more food in to reach calorie goals, and slider foods will take me back to my food addiction
