OMG! You look FAB!!!! What an amazing transformation! Congrats on all your success! Very inspirational! You look so cute in those outfits! I hope and pray that I reach my surgeons goal of 165 before surgiversary (Jan 11, 2013). My personal goal of 130 is tooooooo far away from where I stand, but I'll be ecstatic if I reach the 150s!

How Much Did You Lose?
I was on a pre-op diet for one month - Optifast for dinner and low-carb/high-protein for breakfast and lunch. Lost 11 pounds.

Basketball - 9 Weeks Post Op Too Soon?
Agree with Nate -- Docs know best! I'm not very physically active, so I can only think of one hurdle -- at around 9 weeks out, I still had to sip on the Water and not take huge gulps. After gym I always found it a bit ifficult to rein in my thirst and NOT guzzle down bottles of water. If you are able to drink water at a normal pace, I think you should be fine. Be sure to stay hydrated though!!

Gallstone Or Gas?
Hi all, I've been experiencing a bit of pain under my right ribs. I thought it might be gas, but after searching online, I'm worried it might be gallstone. It is almost 10PM in India and I cant get hold of my doctor right now. I'm worried! Nausea is listed as a major symptom after the pain. But I dont feel nauseous. So I'm kinda hoping that it is just gas and that it would disperse soon. I just wanted to know what other symptoms I should look for.. I'll be going to the doctor tomorrow - but I just wanted to be prepared for tonight

Little Faith Here
Go on a liquid and pureed diet! In my pre-op I lost 11 pounds (5kgs) in less than one month. I did pureed food for 3 weeks and the last week I did protein shakes 3 times a day for a whole week. It is not very hard. You surely can do this - just 4 pounds - dont lose hope!!

Band To Sleeve Revision
I too used Optifast VLCD for my pre-op diet (twice a day - morning and night). I still use it as a Protein supplement post-op. After surgery, I find it too filling, so I use a 3/4th of a sachet at night. With a reduced fat PB, it tastes soooo good.

Band To Sleeve Revision
Hi Kristi! Welcome to the forums! I've read so many posts about lapband to sleeve conversions in this forum, and most stories talked about erosion and slippage. I've never had a lapband so I dont really know about these - but they did sound very painful. So I'm really glad you didnt have to go through all that with the band!! I started at 125kgs and I'm only 5ft. I was a bit skeptical about sleeve at first too. My surgeon said that a restrictive procedure like sleeve requires more commitment to diet and lifestyle change than GB. I didnt think I was ready for that. But I couldnt imagine getting a GB and living my entire life on meds. So I researched sleeve and spoke to my surgeon's other patients who have been sleeved - they encouraged me to do this. I have to say - getting sleeved is the best thing I've done! I lost 5 kgs in my 1 month pre-op diet. I was 119kgs during surgery on Jan 11, 2012. After 6 months, I now weigh 85 kgs. I've lost 34 kgs in 6 months after surgery (39kgs including pre-op). I couldnt have done this without sleeve and it has also given me the confidence that I can make lifestyle changes and maintain them. Yes, sleeve is only a tool - and it works only as well as we work it. But I dont find that too hard to work! Yes, I had to make healthy choices about food and yes, I need to work out regularly. But it doesnt mean that I cant indulge in my fav food every now and then. The restriction makes sure that I dont over indulge - so I feel that I've got the best of both worlds!!! In terms of workout - I just do some cardio for 1.5 hrs for 5 days a week. I do some weight training 2 days a week but not regularly and I'm hoping to increase the frequency of weight training. Whatever your decision, I know you'll be a great success!! All the best!!

Vitamin D
Yes many people are Vit D deficient. It in itself is not a problem. But I was told that Vit D also impacts Calcium absorption. As long as your calcium levels are good, you will be fine. My mom had Uterus issues and had her labs done. They showed that she had Vit D deficiency. Her doc did many other tests and found her calcium absorption was pretty low and she was at a high risk of getting osteoporosis. Dont mean to scare you! Just wanted to let you know of the issues related to Vit D deficiency.

Five Years Post Op N Gaining Weight
So sorry to hear that! I'm so pissed off that such stuff is happening even at this day and age! BUT - you've successfully maintained your weight for years now. I'm sure you would have overcome hell lot of temptation for food. I know that emotional eating cant be stopped overnight. But if you had successfully stayed away from chocolates and other 'risky' food for 4 years, I'm sure you can do it now. Like others said, try some therapy and get back on track. Those losers are not worth s#$t. Dont let them win now. We're all behind you a 100%. All the best!!
