Anyone know of some brands that are easy to keep down and taste okay???

Premier protein shakes from Costco/sams club are not bad

Yeah, I'll second the Premier Protein shakes. I've been taste-testing in preparation and it's the best I've found so far.

And I love most brands of the high protein, sugar-free hot chocolates that you get from bariatric places. For some reason they have less of an aftertaste for me.

It's all just a matter of individual taste, what's good to one person tastes like barf to another. I really hated about 6 different brands I tried and settles on the Boost! shakes (available nearly everywhere in the USA). Their not the best as far as Protein content but SOME protein that I could get down without a struggle is netter than none.

Just keep trying different brands till you find one you like.

I must say that "Metabolic Nutrition ProtiZyme Whey Protein" is an awesome brand. My favorite of the flavors are Peanut Butter Cookie & Strawberry Creme. The containers are a bit more expensive but definitely worth it. I can't stand anything overly sweet and I found these to be incredible. I mix 1 scoop with 8 oz. of milk and a few ice cubes. Cytomax pure Protein performance drinks, they are Clear liquids and are undergoing a marketing rebrand to Cytomax Whey Isolate I think. They are 3.79 each at Vitamin Shoppe and 42 a case, 40 g of whey isolate protein and not much else. I love tropical and tangerine. @ Vitamin Shoppe you can buy them individually in a refrigerated section to try first, which I recommend!

I hated Isopure. Some ppl call it Isopuke and I've adopted this term, sorry but I have! I hated the protein "bullets" (disgusting).

nectar Syntrax are nice protein powders. You can buy them in a trial package (you can choose the flavors from BJ's Bariatrics), it's like 13 for $13, online.

Unjury's strawberry sorbet is good and their chicken Soup. I've also got some unflavored protein powders, but I still taste that in anything (yuck).

Power Pak puddings are good. 30 g of protein per 8 oz containers (I have to eat it 2 x's a day to get it all in). Buy at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, 17-24 usd per case of I think it's 5 in a case. @ Vitamin Shoppe you can buy them individually in a refrigerated section to try first, which I recommend!

We definetly need to plan a Protein drinks taste tasting soon! How about right after my surgery? I will actually have three weeks school free!

There are mixed opinions on this product, but I really love Syntha 6 in chocolate peanut butter. It's the ONLY one I enjoy drinking.

I've tried quite a few. So far my favorites are Oh Yeah, Unjury, and Matrix. For me the Muscle Milk Light is ok. I really didn't like the Nectar shakes with water but a lot of people love them. I definitely recommend trying some for sure!

If you go to that subforum, you can order samples of different things. some people seem to do better if they wait until after surgery because things they like before surgery taste different to them after surgery. There is a good list of recipes there too where you can make protein drinks taste a lot better.

Thanks everyone!!! All of your post was so helpful, and I will check out the subform! I know everyone taste buds are different, but I am just trying to narrow it down! When you walk in a place like GNC or Vitamin Shop, it can be overwhelming!!!

Of GNC and other places will refund your money or exchange the product you don't like. Keep your receipt!
