    Snacks?

My NUT doesn't want me snacking on nuts or cheese and beef jerkey is expensive. Anyone have snack ideas that won't kill my sodium for the day?

    Snacks?

She wanted me to stop relying on bars as well, though I love the adkins advantage ones. Is there a recipe for the roasted chickpeas? That sounds yummy.

    Snacks?

The fat content. I had a band and never worried about my fat intake for the day. Now all of a sudden since I got revised to the sleeve I have to track my fat (wasn't losing any weight at all the first couple months after revision surgery). Basically, when my NUT looked at my food log from my fitness pal she noted that I was having peanut butter or cheese every day and called them basically solidified fat and said I needed to drop them. I LOVE cheese and nuts so I still have htem in moderation (like a slice of cheese in my wraps for lunch) but miss just snacking on them. Then I stopped losing again and discovered that my sodium was over 3000mg a day with the food I was making to bring to work so now I have to watch that too. My snack options have just dwindled to where I have NO CLUE what to eat. No matter what my surgeon/NUT say I can't eat just 3 meals with no snacks, I get hungry.
  4. Don't have anything else to say lol. I seem to be the only one who can't make this revision work!
  5. You and I could be the same person. I felt the same way. My insurance wouldn't have covered the sleeve back when I got banded so I would have gotten the band no matter what because there was NO WAY I would have bypass. Despite the fact that I've only lost 6 lbs in the 2 months I've been revised I still would do it. There's a reason the band is nicknamed the 'crap-band'. I haven't thrown up once in the last 2 months and life is a LOT easier without have to worry about whether I'm going to have to pull over to throw up on my way home from dinner out. DO IT!!! I would never ever recommend the band to anyone.

Dr. Thomas Bass - No Problems

I was recently revised to a sleeve so just go with an open mind in what surgery you want! I had to get rid of the band!
  7. I was banded by Dr Bass on 4/24/09. They have great follow-up care and support groups 2x a month at each of their offices. Their office staff is friendly and always answer the phone. Emails are answered promptly and thoroughly. Can't go wrong!
  8. Revised 5/9. Lost 12 lbs pre-op and since 5/9 have lost 6 lbs (all in one week, a week ago) and have gone back up 1.5 weeks. I'm at 183.4 now and my goal is 155. I'm so freakin frustrated I want to cry and scream simultaneously. I've been told it's because I'm so close to goal but I've seen others close to goal lose 20-30 lbs already. What is wrong with me?!?!?!?!?! Am I being perfect, no. But certainly not bad enough to warrant this. I'm glad that I'm rid of the band - I think going over a month without throwing up is quite an accomplisment after 3 years with the band - but I did hope to lose weight that I wasn't able to lose with the band. I just can't fathom failing at something that really should be failproof. My stomach is smaller for goodness sake! I had a Cobb salad for lunch at work yesterday and this is a salad I would have finished in 15 minutes even with the band but it was my lunch, dinner, snack inbetween and I still threw 1/4 of it away. I hate to say this, but the brownies are looking pretty good right now, now losing anyway right? UGH. So disgusted with myself.

    Band 2 Sleeve Weight Loss

I'm more worried about only 6lbs in over a month lol
  10. I haven't heard of anyone else only losing 4 lbs immediately after surgery. That's not even a lb a week.

    Band 2 Sleeve Weight Loss

I guess I'm the exception, Was revised 5/9 and have lost 6 lbs and put 1.5 back on. At a loss as to what is causing it.

    May Sleeve!

1 month out, still no weight los since pre-op diet.
  13. I'm at a complete loss. I'm walking 3 miles 5 days a week. I'm drinking as much as I can and getting all the Protein I can. I'm starting at a low weight - 187 - but I should have lost SOMETHING by now just by the fact that I'm exercising so much. Arghhhh. No idea what to do. I should add that the 10lbs that show on my ticker are pre-op diet weight loss. I'm actually up 2 from that.
  14. It doesn't seem like my clothes are any looser but I haven't been measuring. I'll start that tonight when I get home because this is driving me crazy. I expected weightloss to be slow with my BMI being so low and the fact that I had a band and I'm used to eating this way but I wasn't expecting absolutely nothing.
  15. Would figure I'd be the first to fail at this! My day of surgery weight was 187. Of course I went up a bit afterwards and my first goal was to get back to that weight. I thought it would be an easy goal but yesterday I was 187.6 and today back to 188. I'm at a loss. I'm exercising and eating pretty well, though not perfectly. But I'm so freakin frustrated I can hardly function. Any thoughts or suggestions?????? HELP!!?!?!!??!?!
  16. Had my revision May 9th. I know I'll be slow to lose since I only have 50 lbs to lose total but I'm only down 2 lbs from pre-surgery weight. For a while I was up a few lbs, due to swelling I imagine. Should this be kicking in soon or is this rate what I need to expect? I know we're all different and I'm probably just being impatient but did anyone who started out at a lower weight have to wait a while for the loss to start? I have a friend at work who was sleeved April 23rd at 360 lbs and is already down around 35 lbs. I've been walking a ton and following the diet and during the pre-op week diet I lost around 8.
  17. Thanks WebChick, all of that makes a lot of sense. Am I perfect about the diet? Nope. I KNOW I'm not getting in near enough protein and I'm struggling with water but still, I would think there would be even a little movement. The BMs have been just about non-existant until I started the 'soft solids' stage yesterday and now seem to be picking up. I am supposed to be off my birth control for a month after surgery so since I"m so irregular off the pill I can't be sure but if I were on the pill I'd be starting TOM next week. I guess complaining about it isn't going to help, I just have to try to knuckle down and get my protein/water/exercise in and hopefully start up on losing again...sigh....I just see everyone down 20-30-40 lbs a couple weeks after surgery so to be down absolutely none - in fact up a lb - since surgery makes me so depressed! The rational side of me knows to not compare especially since starting out so low should indeed be a factor, but the emotional side can't help it.
  18. Janet, I'm glad your surgeon is supportive because when I saw mine two weeks after surgery he was very disappointed that I was only down 9 (all pre-op loss). He said I should be losing just as much as anyone else having surgery and my starting weight had nothing to do with it. I think he gave me a bit of a complex and that's why I'm so devastated that I haven't lost anything. He expects me to have lost a lot more by the time I see him again at the end of July and I just don't think I'm going to get there. I don't want to be the only person who manages to fail at this and according to him I already am! When I had my lap-band I lost 90 and then gained back 30 and hten got the revision to the sleeve so I guess mine had even more of a shock since it was 2 surgeries in one (well, and a hernia repair to boot). It would just do so good for morale to get below that 187 and know that I"m on the right track because right now it doesn't seem like it. I'm going to go bury my head somewhere now lol
  19. http://www.aboutlawsuits.com/allergan-lap-band-subpoena-27019/ I had just about perfect teeth until I got the band, now I have had a root canal and crown, gum recession and fillings on the front of most of my teeth because of the recession. Basically the mouth of a long term bulimic...sigh. But no issues with the sleeve so far! Been a long time since I've gone this long without throwing up!
  20. I've only had my sleeve two weeks but it really is a whole new world. I've gone 3 weeks without throwing up, which is a record with the band. Even though I'm only on full liquids I could have issues iwth the band when it came to eating something like yogurt. I can have breakfast in the morning without have to down 24 oz of water first to make sure food could even go down. I just feel like this is what weight loss surgery was supposed to be all along. I had my band 3 years but I was miserable with it. Fills, unfills, re-fills, re-unfills...neverending vicious cycle. I will never recommend the band to anyone. Sleeve ALL THE WAY!

    Diarrhea Since Sleeve?

Try eating a banana, they helped when i had that issue
  22. 1. Having to hang out in the handicapped stall at work pacing and praying that whatever I have just eaten will just go down or come up already. 2. #1 plus going back to my desk after ridding myself of whatever got stuck and then having to run back 3 minutes later because I apparently was on a roll 3. Eating steak one day, throwing up a Protein shake the next.... Anyone care to add?
  23. I had my revision almost 2 weeks ago and I love it so far, even just being on full liquids. It's worth it just to get up and eat breakfast and not have to drink 60 oz of water first to make sure it goes down. I haven't had any problems with eating yet. I've gotten some sharp pains and then I know I've gone too far and stop eating. I'm still trying to re-learn my hunger signals but I can't remember the last time I went two weeks without throwing something up. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
  24. Had my surgery noonish yesterday. Besides some massive gas pain in my shoulder that won't go away despite all the walking/gas-x strips in the world I'm doin good. Just want the pain to go away so I can take a deep breath! Lozenges were a life saver, i have never been so dry
