  1. We've been so used to inhaling, gulping, shoveling, (storing in our cheeks) food for so long, it was an easy slip. so easy. I have to remember to take small bites even with a baby spoon. Right now I worry about planning the days meals, enough prooein, veggies, starches, the timing of the meals.. enough liquids, and then to handle the days stresses, yea, its a big juggle..

The biggest thing is that you realized your error and felt the reprocussions, and you arent likely to do that again (at least for a while) I love your posts girl!

  2. I said the same thing if I had really known about all the restrictions I wouldnt have gone through with lapband, but we need to give this a chance now that we did do it. Im only 3 weeks out, and have so much support than I suspected, People want us to succeed so we should too. my dr said for now 4-6 small meals with snacks inbetween if I get hungry. and lots and lots of liquids. until I get a fill and start getting restrictions. (And I would have lied to the dietician too!)

  3. I vote morelgirl as President!

You voiced exactly what I feel, and now have no problem voicing on this site because I know someone will totally understand what I mean or trying to, what I feel, fustration or glad I did something right one day..

we are like baby chicks right now, all chirping the same thing, but we will succeed, and we have each other for support.

  4. oh no Im the same way, when Im exercising I had to arrive to the gym, at a certain time, otherwise I considered myself late, exercise for so long, and even though I alternated my routines it would throw me if the machines werent available.

If I couldnt do exercise for a few days I was like a caged animal literally pacing, I figured out that I could take brisk walks during breaks to get my heart going . Right now Im taking mini walks before I hit the hard stuff again.,, thats just the way we roll!

  5. @ Bert, jitters can be a number of things, but low blood sugar comes to mind first. When you eat protein it takes your body longer to break them down than carbohydrates and your body can use these foods for fuel. If we eat foods that are simple carbohydrates, chips, crackers, popcorn, bread etc our bodies break these down faster and we get hungery again sooner than we should. Even though we have the band to help curb our hunger and reduce our intake we still have to think about what where eating and strive to eat 3 well balanced meals a day and if we do snack we should make the snack a protein not a carbohydrate, nuts, cheese, deli meats, beef jerky, peanut butter, etc. If we can eat these types of snacks in 1oo cals or less they will help keep us from straving and eating the other types of foods. Unfortunately even though the band is a big help, we all still have a lot of bad nutrition behaviors to unlearn, I agree with above statement about tracking what we eat, I track all my intake on myfitnesspal.com. It helps me but don't get caught up in the number of pounds it says you should loss. Use it to make sure you are eating what you should.

Thank you, I track my foods on mylapbandjourney and it looks like I havent been getting enough proteins even with snack, yeah one of the bad (was it really bad at the time) is only eating 3 times a day and I had just broken away from having snacks. so it was just water in between. My snacks were usually nuts or trailmix or seesame sticks. or veggies. so now to go back to that, I think whats happened is I did this to my body but my mind doesn't know it yet, and they still arent in sync. Yesterday was better as I took in my food slower, took sips, SIPS and I had 5 of the small nutter butter cookies snack I was ok till dinner when I tried a turkey hotdog, and ranch beans, the beans were ok, but I think the hotdog was too chewy. I should of drank a protein drink. Yeah I stand on the scale and it doesn't move but I can tell I melting away. I don't have any fills yet. Thanks for the advise.

  6. Im 16 days out, and mushy for me is cream soups, avacado, refried beans, cottage cheese, fruit pops. lots of that flavored 0 calorie water. I had toppings of a slice a pizza today and it didn't come out my nose so I guess thats good. Oh yogurt, lots of flavors these days. go online lots of good ideas. I just worry that I ate too much or not enough. but soon enough my body will tell me. Good luck and let me know if you find something really good!

Im like you my body doesn't tell me when its full yet, (or Im just really nervous about it coming out of my nose too!)

  7. There's time when we can't avoid sadness and grief. i am passing along my virtual hug of the day: I hope it helps alittle.

You stay with it honey, keep going. I think we may have all heard this - "Don't sweat the small stuff, and remember, its all small stuff." You will be so incredibly happy with yourself, happier than ever before. I know, I know - we told ourselves that we wanted it to be healthier. Well, deep down do you really want it to look good again, to not only feel (sxier) but to look it also. I will never regret having the band, and if I had to do it again, I would in a heartbeat. I also recommend it to anyone who asks. Whether they are just asking due to watching me loose the weight, or they are in need, or they know someone who is in need.

  8. oh my dr tried to switch my moods to extended release, I said now is not the time to be switchiing my meds, (they helped my brain wind down at night. After 3 days after surgery not able to sleep I called his office and requested my old rx back. You have to be an advocate for yourself sometimes, you know whats best for you. write down questions you have for drs, any thoughts you have. they are only human too, I'm hoping once I lose weight, I won't need as much of that kinds of meds anyways so Im not swelling on that part of it.

    Good luck to you,

  9. I'm right there too, I've always been heavy to the point where I have no sense of fashion, clothes were just clothes to cover myself. No make up. But once I made my decision to get banded, I have been buying smaller clothes and hanging in separate closet.FIlled a make up band, letting my hair grow longer than I ever have, instead of the cut of shower shampoo and go. So once Im ready I will have. Good Luck sister, look ahead not back! Your mom meant well, but you know better..

  11. Isn't it amazing to look at food now and think how much we used to eat? At my work today they had donuts and breakfast burritos, and a pizza party at lunch, It would be a given that I would of had 1-2 pieces of everything. but all I ended up having was one slice of meat pizza. I was asked if I was on a diet and all I said was yes. I just ate the toppings/cheese and Im doing ok.(for now) Weather's warming up here in California, so drinking water will be easier. My first op visit is Monday.

    good luck !

  12. We all will be going through the moments, but tomorrow is another day, I know I ate too fast yesterday, too big of bites, and I am paying for it now, I feel a heaviness in my chest and had a few sips of tea for breakfast and few spoonfuls of chicken soup for lunch. I feel bad because I went home for lunch and blew up at my hubby because he hadn't put the vaccum cleaner away and it got tangled in my laptop table and everything fell to the ground. My co-worker told me right now Ive been cranky so it's obviously showing. Oh well back to soups today and tomorrow. Good luck and hopefully your wagon passes my way soon!
