  1. may I suggest getting rid of the digital scales alltogether? They are really no more accurate overall...just be sure to put your scales in the same, even floor each time and dont drop, plop them around. Also, don't store them on their side, shake them alot or store them in a high humidity area. You might laugh but I have a friend that hooked a swing to her hubby's big game scale and weighs that way. I weigh with scales at my warehouse, which I have purposefully removed the oz. and odd numbers from the scale on one setting, and I weigh no more than 1x week, more like 1x every two. The weight is not your biggest gauge in all of this, and I think, just from observation (no real tracking, just observation on the most basal pre-hypothesis level) that the people who focus on the scale do a bit if disservice to their progression than those who stay focused on daily nutritional needs, keep a journal of foods, vary their interests and are focused on eliminating bad habits. It is so easy to get caught up on looking at the scale, and I have been guilty of it too - but I have somehow managed a very relaxed point of view regarding the scale, it has worked for me as my stalls increase and the weight loss slows down, speeds up etc.
  2. There were many tests that they took originally that were requested of me just before surgery again.
  3. I would post this in his reviews - the follow up is an important step, and the bad or mediocre should be listed with the good.
  4. You will be there before you know it! Yay for your Success!
  5. Do you hav eproof the insurance is covering it? also hav eyou gone over your out of pocket? Surgeon, anest. hosp. and whoever will read your xrays, barium swallow, etc?
  6. I would say it is an individual call, but I would leave children at home, elderly also - too many communicable diseases. Also, and no offense, it just isn't the place to have a child potentially act out. Yes, I know, but yes, they do.
  7. You can put just about any veggie in your clear broth, either put it in cheesecloth or sift it when you are done. A beef or chicken bullion cube will help broth so much!
  8. 1 tbsp of tambiko caviar - wasabi flavored w/ about 1-2 oz of sushi grade salmon and an evoo- wasabii emulsion. My "I kicked ass" after bike-ride lunch.
  9. cut up the whole thing, eat tlittle bits till you feel satiated (or about 4-5 1"cubes whichever comes first) Now, take the rest and add oatmeal, cucumber and flax seeds and blend well, apply it to all your stretch marks and face and neck... My own personal "good in/good out" recipie, lol...
  10. If you are feeling no pain then I would not worry about the leak, call you doc, too. Here is a suggestion: There is canned chicken and roast beef that us called a "spread" if you can't take any protien drinks, take about a third of a can to half a cup of cambells V8 soup - either butternut squash or veggie blend or broccoli, and add about 2-4 oz Water and blend the heck out of it, sift it and that will give you at least some protien, and veggies, too or
  11. I don't think so - or when I do it is usually my sinuses acting up, lol. I lost it slow, kept as hydrated as I could and was really good to myself - pritien first, second, third - veggies too - juices and Soups...vitamins
  12. MEMEMEMEME! I was a faithful WD'der years before they even thought of the TV show - YOU MUST read the comic books! If you need a challenge check out www.runforyourlives.com it is a zombie 5k - I will be at the one in Austin in December. Try parkour and such for exercize the "zombie apocolypse" sports, lol.
  13. Don't think I will look like that in a bathing suit no matter how much I lose...ROCK THAT SLEEVE!!!
  14. She could be seeing stomach surgeries, but the staple line is not the only thing holding you together. No offense, but I would question that - people have a tendency to stretch the truth when they feel justified in their positions. I have submitted your inquiry to The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. If you have never visited their site I encourage you to do so: http://asmbs.org/
  15. I am still having issues with seeing myself the size I am, so I don't have the before/after thing yet...but interesting question. food for thought! Get it, food? :/
  16. PS - keep a notebook of "thinks that might be fun" and add everything you think of, anytime you think of it.
  17. paranayama yoga - the first best step to yoga, in my opinion...it is the "breathing" yoga...do light steps, or get the book "Yoga for Wimps". Take a balloon and keep it off the ground by swatting it. Take a "body stroke" bath - you start at your head and using a body bar go from your neck to yyour knees or feet in one long AMAZINGLY FEEL GOOD stroke, and do it again - repeat till you feel like spaghetti or the Water gets cold...
  18. You can savor healthy foods now! put your veggies in cheesecloth and boil them in broth, juice some veggies, find a teavana near you (check online and make sure they get good reviews for fresh tea) and try teas - teavana keeps several samples at any time... SMELLS TOO - indulge - get some lotion, some fresh cut flowers, fabreeze EVERYTING in a wonderful light scent - it isn't just your taste buds, you r olfactory senses are going to improve, too!!!
  19. You need to go to a doc, and get checked out ASAP - right now is just not a time to stress your stomach with repetitive heaving. Even if it doesn't develop into a leak, it can hinder your healing ALOT. My Mom passes away a week after my surgery (six months ago tomorrow), and the crying and such really did a number on my stomach - the doctor thinks it is the main reason I had so much trouble transitioning (some days better than others, still) to solid foods. He said he sees it in people who catch colds and such after the surgery g othrough the same thing.
  20. Once you have reached a size you are comfortable with, and you begin maintenance, if you are one of the people who are still readily losing weight it is a matter of increasing your calories, or maybe you don't want to go to the gym as much - the choce is yours... It probably will not be one thing - but I have found the most sccessful people keep a mentality that they have to always work on it, keep a food log, keep exercising, keep hydrated, watch food portions but also make sure they keep eating quality, healthy foods. If you find yourself still losing, first start by lokin gat what you eat - maybe you could increase your good fats, or get in another serving or dairy or yogurt...daily you will probably not need that many extra calories to counter your weight loss.
  21. I had a friend with the same situation as far as transportation - get an early morning window that your mom can take you, and be prepared to wait - or consider a taxi...if your insurance is covering it you may qualify for a shuttle service.
  22. ABSOLUTELY - and I love getting the bored glance over from people rather than the "OMG please there is already no room" look I would get as I went down the isle looking for my seat.
  23. Pookeyism replied to Piplula's topic in The Gals' Room
We were already pretty good (when I felt ok, etc) but now it has gone from a few days a week to every day and, well, er, more...lol The best difference is the way it feels to be able to get so much closer than before - no belly in the way...that sort of thing... ...hmmmm.... ...running out of the office to grab hubby, lol...
  24. Yay for you - already sleeved here, I will save you a seat on the losers bench.
