  1. I am a size 14, and no goal weight yet, but I figure I might be in the 25 lbs left stretch. We will see. I am going to reassess at 180 or so, which I think will be a steady size 12. I might revisit that once I am up on muscle mass a bit, because I am into swordsmanship again, and I have found Acro Yoga!!!! OMG!!!! SO the lighter I am without being weak the better off I am for the Acro Yoga.
  2. I like your intro. I had an argument with someone just the other day about type A's and they argued a type A cannot become overweight to any real extent - but I differ in my opinion (considering myself to be a type A). I think we struggle with it a great deal, but always being the life-solvers all of the other things that are dispersed amoung other people are sent to us, so there is a time and place we can no longer deal with the weight per se, and yet can't quite give up and be depressed and inactive. So I have one serious, very real suggestion for you - you are going to have to shed your type A just a little, because it is going to leave, a little. You will be faceing all the things your type A couldn't or didn't notice accumulating with those pounds, and the emotions are there. Good luck!!!!
  3. yeah - I got kicked in the tummy in my third month. I was very concerned. It burned for about 3 hours. So again, off to doc next day, no drinking, barium drink test (5th time but this time we got insurance to pay, mostly). Ok - but they told me no glass chewing for while yet....
  4. I think when properly done, the test will find something, even just small - or I would doubt the testing...too much fat usually for too long to not have some sort of issue. I am tested to a point of ridiculousness (or so I thought) - until they caught my blood platelets getting low the day after surgery...and yes, they are still getting lower. So the testing was worth it. Will they proceed with your Husband's scheduled sleeve?
  5. I have flown first class, but never bumped up - this happens to my hubby ALL THE TIME! Why not meeee... lol - enjoy!
  6. You really need to make sure you are included on each submittal, etc...make them scan rather than fax, and cc your email address - you have the right to be included in every step of your medical care. This assures you that your docs are doing what is supposed to be done. You also take a bit of responsibility in that you also need to get, and confirm each email address personally, so you know whether or not it went where it was supposed to.
  7. mine was in a week, but they really needed to be sure my staples and sutures took...I don't have an exact straight line due to a tumor they had to remove. I ate sooo many blue foods! lol
  8. Yes, if they had moved my day it would have been really hard! Hope all resolves soon.
  9. I have just never understood how that thing is even allowed on the market. Hope you end up well, and sleeved! Good luck to you!
  10. If you are doing the liquid diet, your doctor need to know, and you need to be careful. It is a huge step from your normal routine, and you need to be sure you can be on it long term. Keep a sharp eye on your heart rate, blood pressure and lightheadedness or foggy thought...again check with your doc.
  11. When were you sleeved? The avoidance of caffene is largely (my understanding) due to 1)the foods it is found in and 2) you need to avoid the diuretic nature of the drug until you can get enough fluids. So as long as you are able to drink enough liquids without pushing your sleeve, AND you arent eating chocolate or drinking sodas and coffee wont kill you, I suggest taking half a caffiene pill - that was recommended to me on my 4th week, as I was trying to keep off coffee for at least my forst 8 weeks (I was having a rough time of it). However, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR, lol...I don't even play one on TV.
  12. You look great and your hair looks good, too - maybe just a flower in it or something
  13. Yes, it will fly by after a few more days. Get ready now, prep time can slip away too! lol
  14. Ask your case manger how she is submitting it - if she says fax or snail mail tell her no, scan it and send it to an emai (get one from your insurance company) - and have her cc your email address in the email. Tell her to do it within 24 hours. Is this your PCP or Bariatric doc? Either way maybe you should switch. AND LET US KNOW WHO IT IS, lol....we get alot of this here, but no one says which offices are doing it.
  15. Don't rely on your doctor to tell you everything - you really hav eto be procative on all of this, all of the time...this is where you take charge, remember? Contact your healthcare plan and ask to recieve a copy of whatever your doc has in re:to what you have to have, and what time period you have to have it...also follow up when they say they have submitted something - or ask then to include you in the email, provide tracking # for envelope, etc.
  16. Yes and no - the arguing may be from sooo many different things - you have to look at it to see...are you maybe not tending to your chores where you are focused on this - or is it him having difficulty expressing his feelings over it? hav eyou discussed it and watched his body language? and make sure you are both on the same page about understanding your finances during all this. Hope it helps - and since it already starting, maybe go to a counselor now.
  17. I think you are OK - but you want to moderate your popscicles even if you do not have to - dont look for cheat foods or anything similar....and no, dont eat a popcicle in less than a minute. I would eat one, chewing medium size bites, and keep just ahead of the melt....wait at least 5 min in between - you are numbing your tummy, so you might not experience as much discomfort, but it doesnt stop the fact that popscicles have about 2-4 oz of Water in them. you wouldnt try to drint 8-12 ounces of Fluid in a few minutes...or shouldnt!
  18. It is a scary place to be where you are now - and there will be other scary times as you go along. Just stick to it, educate yourself and read here, read books, read websites...good luck
  19. I will message you... but also, just remember - low carb, low sugar...and since you are sharing, consider looking through the books "eat this, not that". Atkins cookbooks are good, too.
  20. I knew it from the start, I still have to understand it a bit...remind myself!
  21. Not UT alumni but got - in- with a young lady there in college that I had an opportunity to spend lots of times in the Foresic AC. Amazing experience. We (Hubby, Hubby's family and me) have an organic, cruelty-free lamb and veggie farm in Jonesboro, TN (well, we are still a bit mean to the tomatoes)...
  22. I also have a group that I started "Skype sleevers" with the intention of face to face chats - I have like 3 members...
  23. See if you can have a spray of biotin or similar, it is an OTC spray that simulate salaiva...it was very refreshing for me...
