  1. Hi, I had my surgery on March 12th so I'm not as far out as you but I'm still willing to text/email if you want. I'm 29 and I live in California.
  2. I had a horrible itchy rash that I just got rid of. My doctor said it was my body reacting to either the antibiotics from surgery or the anesthesia. I was initially told to take Benadryl, but that didn't work. I ended up needing a prescription for prednisone to stop the itching. Hope you feel better!!
  3. Scrambled eggs or tuna sounds soooo good. I'm on 3 weeks of liquids post op.
  4. I went to the hospital my myself. I only told my mom about the surgery and she had to watch my daughter while I was in the hospital. I'm actually glad I didn't have anyone there, because all I really did in the hospital was sleep. I face time chatted on my iPad several times throughout the day with my daughter when I was actually awake. If I had to do it over again I would do it the same way.
  5. The only ones I really like are the vanilla premier protein from Costco. If I want a different flavor I add a little sugar free torani syrup in either peach or raspberry.
  6. My surgeon said mine took about an hour and a half.
  7. Just curious what kind of sushi you can eat? I love sushi and I pretty much figured I wouldn't ever be able to eat it again.
  8. Congratulations! You look great!!!
  9. I walked a lot after my surgery, but the best thing that seemed to help with the gas pain was a heating pad. Not sure if you have tried that already, but if not it might help =)
  10. Congratulations! And yes there is definitely a difference in those pictures! You're doing great!!!
  11. Congratulations, I can't wait to join you in onederland!
  12. I take prescription prilosec and it really seems to help. I'm only 10 days out, but I haven't been hungry since surgery. I'm hoping to see some weight loss soon too. I lost 4 pounds the day after surgery and the scale hasn't moved since.
  13. Congratulations and good luck!!
  14. Now I'm curious who your surgeron is, I just noticed we are in the same area and there are only a few of them around here. I don't think it's mine because he has been great, but my friend had another local surgeon and he hated him. I really hope you find a Dr. who is more supportive! =)
  15. Congratulations! 1 incision is great, I feel like my stomach is covered in them.
  16. My surgeon never said anything about not using a straw and I've been using one since 5 days post op. I have tried to avoid eating and drinking together, so I can't answer that.
  17. I keep telling myself that too, I've got to start losing weight eventually. I'm a week out and according to my dr's scale I'm down 4 pounds. It's very frustrating that the scale hasn't moved since 2 days after surgery.
  18. My surgeon says I have to take it for 3 months even if there are no signs of reflux.
  19. Does it have a lot of sugar? I hadn't even tought of coconut water, that would be a very nice break from broth.
  20. I don't know what your surgeon will do, but with mine I was not allowed to drink anything after midnight the night before surgery. They made me try to go the bathroom multiple times the morning of my surgery to make sure I got everything out.
  21. Congratulations! Hope you get some rest and don't feel as tired, i felt that way for a few days after surgery too, but now I feel like I have more energy than I've had in a long time.
  22. Same thing, no driving restrictions along as I wasn't taking any pain meds. I drove 2 days after surgery to take my daughter to school.
  23. I'm feeling great, able to get all my liquids inand my stomach doesn't seem to be hurting anymore. I'm kind of depressed about my weight loss. I was down 6 pounds 2 days after surgery and I haven't lost an ounce since. I know the first month is when you are supposed to loose the most weight, so I'm getting a little scared this isn't going to work for me. How are you doing?
