IT'S BEEN TEN MONTHS! PICS -111 LBS
You look ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! You're gorgeous Lady! Congradulations on what you've accomplished so far & Good Luck on the rest of your journey. I ate half a bag of those chicken & waffle chips. I felt so bad until I realized that I hadn't eaten anything like that in months & this wasn't something I would do on a regular. So I ate the other half a couple of days later but made sure I drank an extra 20 oz of water to compensate.

Waiting For My Surgery Date! I Think Im Gonna Go Crazy! Lol
Make sure you request a date before the end of the year because most surgeons take extended vacations during the holidays. I was approved on Oct 3rd (I think) and initially, they scheduled my date for Jan 10th due to the holidays. I said, uh uhh...get me in there tomorrow if you can. LOL! I couldn't bear the thought of having to wait additional 3 months. So they scheduled me for Oct 17th at 7am (the surgeon usually starts @9). Just a something for you to think about.

Starting To Get Noticed.....the Good And The Bad..
Here are some of the snide comments I have received and my answers to them: "STOP losing weight! You're getting too skinny!" "NO!!" "I guess I'm the fat friend in the group now." "You don't have to be any friend in the group now." "I can see your face now since all that blubber and chub is gone." "Stop paying so much attention to me. Good day." "I've lost X amount of pounds on my own." "Oh...really? Well I have a little Fairy Godmother who pops out and slaps food out of my hand. I guess I didn't do it on my own..." "WLS is the easy way out. " "It sure was! You jealous?" As you can see, I'm a bit sarcastic.

Hair Loss
My hair was falling out in handfuls. I was scared to wash it because each time I did, I would have enough dead hair to cover a bald cat. I took Biotin, used biosilk, stopped coloring and processing, nothing worked! I just chopped it off. It's starting grow back healthy. I think it is because I eat more food now. Look at some of the past posts on this topic to see what others are doing. There may be a better solution than chopping it off. Good luck!

I Need The Straight Skinny -Help
Just be aware that the loose skin and plateaus are most likely going to happen. Possibly along with some additional issues (food mourning, hair loss, etc.) I don't mean to sound like a Debbie Downer, but just make sure you're ready for those types of obstacles too.

This Surgery Does Work, Right?
My doc told me not to step on the scale until 2 weeks post op. This gives the hospital fluids and medications time to leave the body. Breathe. Relax. STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE! Give your body some time time adjust to the major surgery it just went through. You will be fine. Don't panic.

To Cruise Or Not To Cruise?
I went on a 5 day cruise 3months post op. I didn't buy any clothes until a week before we left because i wasnt sure what size I would be. Luckily, I live in Houston where summer clothes are sold year round...but you can definitely shop online. There are healthy food choices on the cruise ship and all the walking around on the ship and the ports made for good exercise. Have fun & bon voyage!

Sleeved 1 1/2 Years Ago.
I love when sleeve vets come back to post! How much are you able to eat? Do you still have pretty good restriction? Do you eat "no-no" foods? Sorry for the barrage of questions.

You Don't Have To Tell Ppl You're Having Surgery!
Why so serious? I am a totally open book...both on this site and in my life. I used to worry about who knew about my surgery, but I realized it was because i felt self conscious about it. Now, i don't care who knows, who judges, or who questions my decision because i am happier and healthier than I've been in my life. What people think about you isn't your problem so why worry about it? You have more important things to worry about like those damn fluids and Vitamins. I am happy to be someone who people in the first stages of their journey can look to for inspiration. I had people i looked to as a guide or a blueprint, so why not? *shrugs*

Marriage & Vsg...
Honey...the only reason you need to get a divorce is because you are not happy, which you obviously aren't. You can't save a marriage if one of the people in the marriage is not willing to work on the issues. The real issues are his cheating, drug use, and financial problems; you having surgery, being religious, and spending time with your family has nothing to do with it. He is insecure that when you lose the weight and start to get attention from other men, you will stray. Just thank God that you are seeing him for what he is now vs 20 years and several children later. Find your HAPPY girl!!

Hair Loss
I just cut my hair off in Saturday for this very reason. I just couldn't take it anymore. I've taken multivitamins every day and biotin since 2 months post op. Nothing worked for me, but some women on here have recommended Biosilk.

Courious
I eat pizza, but only the toppings. The bread is too thick even if you chew it 20 times. I love tacos. My excuse for eating them is that they have all 5 food groups in them. Ha! You just have to eat slowly and chew thoroughly.

Chopped! *pic*
I've been taking Biotin regularly since 2 months post op. I'm just one of those people who it didn't work for. Thank you! I'm loving the easier maintenance of the short hair. Can't wait to try different looks with it.

Chopped! *pic*
Wow! Thank you!! There are a few ladies I love to watch on YouTube as well. They helped me get through the last couple of months. Good luck with your hair!

Thank you VACookey! If no one else can tell, then you're in good shape. How long have you used the biosilk? I've never tried it &think I should start now so my hair can grow back healthy.
