  1. Thank you so much everyone. I just can't believe there are such selfish people in this world. After eading your responses, I feel much better about moving on past this fake friendship. I love the support on this site.
  2. I just want to vent a little bit everyone, because I know there is someone out there who knows what I am going through. I have had a particular friend, "A", for over half my life. She has always been the skinny one. She would say things like "I really need to lose 5 pounds", and annoying things like that from time to time. She would always give me tips on how to lose weight, although she's never had a weight problem. I announced that I was scheduled for surgery over dinner at a mutual friend's house. The 4 other women at the dinner were supportive, asked questions, and were genuinely happy for me. "A" never said a word. When I asked her what she thought, she said: "Why don't you just diet and exercise? Get a trainer, not a surgeon! " Needless to say that cut me deep. But I explained how I'd tried a number of things & how I'd failed. My other friends came to see me in the hospital after surgery & helped me walk around. "A" didn't even call. Now everytime I see her she says things like: "How much more weight are you gonna lose? You're not gonna have me being the fat friend in this group. I can't eat around you anymore. You make me feel like a pig. I know people who lose weight the right way." I just don't understand why someone who I thought was my best friend would say things like that to me. I put on the brave face & the fake smile & act like it doesn't bother me, but I am extremely sensitive. "A" & I don't hang out or talk much anymore. But her vacancy in my life hurts. I feel like she kept me in a certain box, & now that I have shed whatever title she gave me, she doesn't care about our friendship anymore. It's weird... I feel like I'm going through a breakup. My husband told me to just let it go& focus on all the great things in my life, but this has been my friend for 15 years & it hasn't all been bad... Sorry for the venting guys, but has anyone gone through this?

  4. When I had some blood work done I found out I was borderline diabetic, my triglycerides were high, and most of my Vitamin levels were low. A short while later, my dad found out he had type 2 diabetes (he's over 300lbs) and my mother had fibroids brought on my the fact that she is overweight. I felt like I was looking into my future. I feel like I saved my life by getting this surgery. No regrets; none at all.
  5. I regret not getting it sooner. Since losing the weight I have become more social, so I go out more & yes I drink. I used to be able to drink...I mean DRINK! But now I can only drink 2 cocktails and I feel pretty good. The next day I try to drink an extra 16oz of Water and 10 extra mins working out. That makes me feel a little better about it.
  6. I know you are going to hate to read this, but you just have be to be patient. The weight WILL come off! Your body just has to adjust to the surgery. You are 9 days out, there are many, many days ahead of you!!
  7. Hi Ladies: I am the mother of a soon-to-be 2yr old & my husband and I have decided that we dont even want to discuss having another child within the next 5 yrs. So, I NEED some type of birth control. I had NuvaRing & ortho tri cyclen & believe they contributed to my weight gain. With all the recalls, the horrors of regaining the weight looming, and the possible side effects of an IUD, what's a girl to do?? What are some of you doing or using for birth control? Thank you in advance.
  8. Cutie: Have you been relaxing your hair? I havent relaxed mine since before surgery in October because I am SO scared of it falling out. I have been using Biotin, & so far I havent lost much, but I am just now getting to the time where most people start to see the hair loss.
  9. Sunshine: I am almost 3 months post-op and I definitely feel hungry throughout the day. I also have late night cravings, which is KILLING ME!! When I feel hungry I just try to drink Water until I dont feel the hunger or cravings anymore, but it is getting worse. I feel your pain. Any help or insight on this would be great.
  10. Hang in there Ren!! I am also struggling with getting in my liquids, but I have gone back to drinking Protein shakes and noticed a little bump in my weight loss. Next week I am going to try (and I repeat TRY) to go back to the basics and adopt the mushies, crystal light, and Protein Shakes. I cant go all the way back to the broths tho...ICK! Have you been working out? I have JUST started working out...I'm blaming the holidays...but I am doing 1hr on the bike. I dont have enough energy to do any more than that, so we'll see how this works out. You will be OK Sleeve Sister!
  11. So...I know everyone is enjoying their new lifestyles and new bodies, but I just wanted to check with you all to see how you are doing. Is there anything that you have experienced that you did not see coming? Or something that you expected, but has not happened yet? I miss you guys & gals!!
  12. Seeing the bone structure in your face again & that darn collar bone!! ...and all of those HORRIBLE compliments! It's tough man...really tough!!
  13. Thank you everyone for the responses. It is just extremely hard not to drink something while eating. Especially since I am now eating healthy foods, which I NEVER did before, and am getting used to the way they taste. At this point, I will continue to have a few swallows of Water with each meal. If I see my weight loss stall or stop, I will consider stopping. Thanks again!!
  14. Hi everyone! I just wanted to throw this out there because I am struggling BIG TIME with eating & drinking at the same time. I don't really drink much, but I find it really difficult to eat my portions of food without rinsing out my mouth after a few bites. Has anyone else been doing this? I just want to find out how detrimental it is. Thanks!!
  15. Omg the weird, really vivid dreams! Thank you for posting...I thought I was going crazy!!
  16. You look GREAT!!! Did you all see those legs? Nice!
  17. Hi Sleevers!! Well all of our October friends have been sleeved. Im so happy to read everyone's progress and love that everyone is being honest about their obstacles. I am doing great! Tonight for dinner I had grilled Talapia and creamed spinach...IT WAS MAGNIFICENT!! Feeling so good to actually chew food again. And get this: as of yesterday I weigh........199lbs!!!!! OMG SOOOOO HAPPY TO SEE ONDERLAND! I had a few days where I hated my husband...LOL. Its just, Hes 175lbs and eats WHATEVER he wants, so was feeling incredibly envious. There was one day when I heard him open a can of coke & I just had to go to my bathroom and sit there in silence for a minute. Just to clear my mind & remember why I made this decision for myself. I felt better when I stepped on the scale. :purplebananna: Sorry for venting, but I figured that you all would be the only people who could understand what I'm going through. Talk to you all later! ☮&♥
  18. Hi Forum Family!! I was sleeved on Monday, October 17th and released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Everyday is better than the next. Just wishing I could fast forward to 4 weeks post op. On Monday and Tuesday i definitely had the "Whyyyyy did I dooooo this to myselllllfffff!!" thoughts & feelings. But looking at myself in the mirror, I understand why. And I HAVE NO REGRETS!! The pain is gone, the gas is virtually gone, and I feel like myself again. THE GOOD: I can see the weight loss in my face, fingers, and my bra straps are too big (not the cups)! YESSSSS!! I haven't weighed myself yet, I am trying to wait until 1 week post-op. THE BAD: The blood thinner shots. I apparently didn't do enough research, because I didn't know I would have to do this. Needles freak me out, but like the pain, it gets better from day to day. THE UGLY: My belly. It looks like I am carrying a 5month old fetus!! LMAO! I know that the baby bump is just the swelling & it will go down soon. I just thought this was really funny. I look forward to following your journeys Sleeve Sisters & Brothers. ☮&♥
  19. Hey October Sleeves! I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Everything went smoothly. Just having a hard time with the gas & making sure I am getting enough liquids. I know it will get better, just trying to soldier through this week.

  22. Have you measured yourself to see if you're losing inches?
