  1. Let me give you some words of wisdom. No matter what keep breathing. It takes less than 30 seconds to pull out and doesn't hurt it's just a funny feeling that took me by surprise and I held my breath for a second. Threw the doc off And he said dang it breath out haha. I took a loratab before I came becuse I wasn't sure how it would feel, I don't regret it cause I went home And slept for 12 hours, more than I had slept in a week! It's hard to sleep with that dang drain.
  2. I was hard at it 4 weeks out. Abs, boot camp the whole nine yards. Now at 3 minths out my trainer makes me run with 2 25 pound weights around the track so I will always remember aNd never look back. Don't have the arm strength to tell her I've lotta another. 10 pounds Hhaaaaa.
  3. have some applesauce. the fruit helped me go. i ate no sugar added kind.
  4. This is a lifestyle change. You cant stress over every calorie we put in our mouths. A handful of chips on occassion is no big deal. A handful of chips every day, i would be worried. We always forget this isnt a diet that we will be on forever. how many of us will be able to go without chips forever? not very many unless you really didnt like chips. if you stress over the food, do extra workouts to makeup for it. Please dont beat yourselves up! even if you eat 1500 calories it is still probably 2000 less than what you used to eat!
  5. I never drank coffee but I did drink a ton of mt dew and 5 hour energy shots. Now I drink the decaf ones and they work very good. I could never get used to the coffee taste blech.
  6. The weight is going to come off, how could it not? We Eating a quarter of what we used to. Just get your water, protein, vitamins and workouts in. And put the dang scale away!! You are driving yourself insane!! I know it's exciting to see the scale changing but it's not worth the pain The few times it doesn't. Good luck and happy sleeves.
  7. Yeah I still do it as well. And the funny thing is, we had support group at my surgeons and we all learned to cook a healthy meal then we got to eat, everyone of us besides 1 took way more then we could eat. They guy who didn't has been bypassed for 8 years lol. Think we all do it. A lot of leftovers haha.
  8. My arms are bad too. I've always held a lot of weight in them, they are way outta proportion to the rest of my body. I do all the arm machines at the gym, 15 pound weights, 3 reps of 12. I've decided I would rather my arms look like Hulk Hogan than what I've got going on now. I can see and feel the definition but ive got ways to go.
  9. Docs are different but mine cleared me for full workouts at 2 weeks.
  10. I am really excited, my surgeons NUT and a local hospital has banded together to give bariatric cooking classes! the classes are fairly inexpensive and will teach us how to cook all kinds of healthy yummy foods that taste good as well. We have a community kitchen that was shown on tv a few years ago (anyone heard of Jamie Olivers food revolution? I live in the unhealthiest city in America) Last night was our support group and they gave us a preview of what the classes will intail. We made roasted chicken with peppers and onions, mashed yams and a fruit parfait. I cant wait. Im not the greatest cook and not very creative in the kitchen i usually cook the same few dishes over and over, i want to get a lot more options in my cooking. Although i got in trouble cause i kept asking, "and how many carbs are in that?" My NUT finally said "oh your one of the carb nazis huh?" HHAHA. SHe told me to up my carbs to 80-90 (GASP) and raise my calories atleast 100-200. I said sure ill eat more calories, dunno about carbs though. Im still on losing 20 pounds a month 3 months out.
  11. i dont drink any kind of coffee but at Panera i eat the chicken noodle soup, it has huge chunks of chicken. ALso the chicken or tuna salad with no bread. They are yummy and full of protein. The chicken has almonds so be careful if you arent very far out.
  12. i was weepy for the first 6 weeks then i started leveling out. Now my hormones are outta control again. Dunno if its the extra estrogen or im exercising and have more energy but i cant keep my hands off the hub! He said he was going to sleep on the couch for some extra sleep haha. I love i am going to feel better at 31 than i did at 21
  13. We waited a week, till the drain was out. Longest we had been since childbirth. Lol
  14. LOL i used to do that, with any holiday, the day after i would be at Walmart bright and early. Forget the portioning though hehe. i love those cadbury minis as well. The list of candy i dont like is a lot shorter than the one i do like (whoppers eww and paydays. How do they call it a candy bar when there is no chocolate? It is an unfinshied baby ruth) off topic a little, Blackberry juice, i really admire you. I am trying to get in the best shape of my life, i dont know what your start out weight was, but you look incredible and i have lurked around your page reading all your posts :-). Congrats on all your success.
  15. also, are you able to do anymore exercising? I know a lot of us have physical restrictions. Maybe while you are walking, jog/run for a minute, then walk 5, then run a minute again. i am a staunch supporter of exercise as soon as you can. I personally think it is so pivotal to the sucess of WLS as a whole. We are going to lose the weight, this is the time of our lives to get as healthy as we can. It has really helped me curb my depression, and ive been meeting a lot of new friends at the gym.
  16. i would say eat more, and how many carbs are you eating? maybe increase those too. I have been lucky and havent had a stall im thinking its because my carb and protein levels vary each week, and i do a few different workouts to keep my body guessing. Just make sure you are getting your water and protein and most importantly dont stress. Remember its just about impossible not to lose. i cant remember how many calories i ate, but it seems like 520 is low. What is your diet like? Maybe add some cheese, eggs, peanut butter. Have you tried Muscle Milk light or EAS drinks or Atkins? that would mix up the protein and give you new flavors to try. good luck.
  17. Wow you look awesome! i have lost 60, and i had a long readlly round face and i can tell my double chin is gone! YAY!
  18. my doc told me to stay on the chewies for the first 2 months then go to regular if you are able to swallow. The problem is multi's are so HUGE, i have never seen one that was say the size of a tylenol. Guess they have to pack so much stuff in one pill, i started on Centrum complete at 2 months, but i just had that "stuck" feeling, like it wouldnt go down. so ill eat 8 chewies a day if i have to to get my vitamins in. And the Gummies for get them for me anyway, i chewed chewed chewed and it just didnt want to go down.
  19. YAY congrats! Hope you celebrated! its a frinkin big deal!! My husband marked the day by buying me a 50$ gift card from Victoria Secret, (im saving it for our beach vacation in May) it was only 2 and a half weeks ago for me but i am still excited about it. its weird, about the 50 pound mark is when people start noticing how much weight youve lost. Enjoy it its only going to get better! Hope i get a 100 gift card when i hit the 100 pound mark haha.
  20. I got Samples of the BA chewies and they hurt my tummy. i had that im going to barf feeling for about 1/2 an hour, i have the centrum chewies as well and im going to stay on them forever, just eat more when i get further along i guess, cause vitamins are so huge and they hurt trying to get them down.
  21. Seriously. Easter is the worst for this recovering junkie. I was never a volume eater, never really thought i was addicted to food, but i did love my candy! Snickers, Jelly Bellys, Laffy Taffy, bottle caps. An that little pouch that had the candy powder and a stick you could eat, i was in heaven. Willy Wonka was my hero! When Valentines came around i was still feeling the recovery and was just starting solid foods so i didnt dare try to eat it, but Easter is another story. With the return of the Holy Grail of Candy; Reese Peanut Butter Egg i find myself thinking about candy more and more. "Hello my name is Kista and i am a candy junkie". I have for 99.8% of the time resisted i had 3 jelly beans but my sleeve didnt like them. Then yesterday the Queen of candy (my momma) who can eat a pound of M&Ms and run 5 miles a day, 120 poounds my whole life (grr). Calls me and asks, "Do you want an Easter Basket and what do you want in it" AHHHHH Drug pusher. I told her "no Basket PLEASE!" Im not sure how thats going to go, she has made me a basket for the past 29 years, so i called her back this morning and told her to make me a basket full of makeup. She just laughed at me. Sooooo, i guess we will have to wait and see how this plays out next Sunday, and if i cant resist atleast i know i will be lucky to eat half of a magnificant PB Egg instead of the 6 i usually down on Easter Sunday.
  22. I am 3 months out and I do 800 calories, 70 grams protein, 50-60 carbs. Give or take depending on my workout.
