  1. They are soy based protein. My doc told me it was better than nothing but not to depend on them for a majority of our protein.
  2. "your mom" hahaha. That's what I say :-D
  3. 1. Try out some Protein shakes pre-op. Believe me - I wish I had done this first. I hate buying brand after brand and having to finish off some really bad-tasting stuff just because of the money that I spent. I hear you can buy sample packs in US. I wish I had the option in India. i would say DONT do this LOL. Buy big bags anyway. I have 4 bags of distugsting Protein powder that my stomach revolts against there is about 300 bucks just sitting on my kitchen table my husband grumbles about every time he goes by LOL. Buy a bunch of samples for after your surgery, cause what you like before you might not like after.
  4. My hubby stayed the first night but I sent him home the second. My room had one of those pull out couches, he said he slept well except for everyone who kept waking me up.
  5. I didn't know that either! What genre are they under I couldn't find them.
  6. My gym has all of the freemotion equipment but I have no idea where to start. Anyone have any thoughts? I dont wanna walk around the machine looking clueless and all the workers at the gym are college students :-/
  7. you wanna do some weights to tone the areas that you are losing from, the sooner you start toning the better your body will look. i have been working on my arms since 4 weeks out, and i have nice little muscles under the jiggly bits. Also, weight lifting helps burn fat even after your done lifting .
  8. I know every nutrition plan is different but that just seem extremely low. Especially with a workout plan, icouldnt imagine only getting 15 grams a day I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. But if it work for you I gues that is the important thing.
  9. Your body gets used to what your eating so it starts going into "storage" mode. You need to up your carbs and calories and add some more good fats. Do that for a week or two and the weight will drop back down.
  10. My doc told me the first six months was the "honeymoon phase" after that the weight slows down and when you have to start paying better attention to what you are eating. Just get your protein in, water and watch your carb sugar and fat intake and the weight will still come off :-D
  11. 20 carbs a day?!? That's worse than being on Atkins! I work out 6 hours a week I need more than that, I need at least triple that.
  12. I will never never ever have another soda. It is such a trigger food for me. I have just learned to deal with life without it. I've been caffeine free for 4 months and feel wonderful. Everyone says even diet soda is bad for you, so I gave it up.
  13. I'm stuck too, same 4 pounds for 3 weeks. So I upped my Calories, carbs, cardio but lowered my strength training to 2 days a week. Was told by a few people we hold onto our weight when lifting weights. This is my first stall in 4 months so I'm ok with it. I have lost 65 and have 88 more pounds till I get to goal.
  14. What about some fruit? Maybe And orange or Grapefruit? Or some fiber one cereal?
  15. I was pretty open with my surgery, I work in a very small store an knew I wasn't going to be able to keep it a secret. we've all been together for 7 years and I didnt want to lie about losing weight, I'm not ashamed of my surgery. I went with the attitude, "don't like it shut up" everyone was supportive and I haven't heard one negative word from anyone. Also people know I'm outspoken so I would just tell them to kiss my a$$ if they has anything negative to say :-D. Only my MIL had something to say, telling me all the horror stories about her sisters best friend cousins mom. Y'all know what I'm talking About. You've heard those stories.
  16. My NUT told me, your spouse either loses weight with you or gains a potion of your weight cause hes eating your portions. I would cook the meals ad don't let them sway the kids, you are doing the right thing.
  17. I love popcorn. I get the 97% fat free from Kroger then sprinkle on some white cheese powder, only a few calories and some sodium. As long as my protein is on track I think that's an ok snack.
  18. I am almost 4 months out I try really hard not to go over 800
  19. I got a few samples of Baratric Advantage, I can't stand the taste, and the cinnamon calcium choked me. It tasted just like powered cinnamon I thought I was gonna choke to death. Yuck.
  20. Um what can you eat? I take almonds and jelly bellys. I eat my almonds then allow myself a few Beans but I wouldnt recommend that. Maybe a Protein bar or a smoothie? I used to sneak in so much food to the movies. Once I even took chips and salsa hahaha
  21. My doc told me to do a round of zinc vitamins. Just one bottle. My hair is falling out too. I also bought some salon shampoo called K-pec reconstruction so my new baby hairs will be nice and strong. I'm not working this summer so if i can keep my hair through vaca I won't go totally insane, but it has increased from just when I wash. Then wash and comb and now it's all over me All the time.
  22. At home I use a Tervis tumbler filled with jugged spring water with Tons of ice. At work I drink bottled smartwater. I love Smartwater!
