  1. Good to know I will get some too.
  2. I felt great and didn't sleep during the day at all so my dad and my 19 year old daughter who went weren't bored at all. They even walked around the area of the hospital and down to the ocean which was just a few blocks away. They had a great time and I was so glad they went. But if you go alone, you will be fine also. You will meet others having surgery.
  3. I went to Mexico for surgery and need to find a nutrionist here in K.C. Does anybody know of one?
  4. Your kindness will be returned. Good luck in your journey and hopefully you will be sleeved soon. It is worth the wait but that doesn't make the wait any easier.
  5. I was at the old hospital and hotel, which were nice. So I don't know anything about the new ones but I'm sure they are nice or Dr. Kelly wouldn't use them. Dr. Kelly was awesome, came to my room as soon as I got to the hospital even though he was in between surgeries. He came to see me at night before he went home. My daughter and dad both went and the driver picked my dad up every morning at the hotel and brought him to the hospital. He came back every night and took him back to the hotel. His name is Richardo, he was the one who picked us up at the airport and took us back. He is very sweet and funny, super nice guy. I loved the entire experience and would do it again in a minute. Dr. Kellys office number is 619-793-4869. His email is jrkelly45@hotmail.com. I used Linda at alighterme and she was very helpful I even called her from Mexico.
  6. I had surgery with Dr. Kelly on 11/4/11 and he is now using a new hospital and a new hotel. Whereever he is, it's worth it. He is the best. I had a great surgery and an awesome recovery.

We were all nervous, that's normal. I was especially nervous going to Mexico for surgery, but it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I feel like I have a whole new life and I'm loving every minute of it. I had no pain, no gas, felt like I didn't even have surgery.
  8. Likasulema, my surgeon had a nutritionist that came to the hotel to visit me and give me some info. but I've tried calling and emailing him with no response. My personal dr. is on board with the whole thing and said to come to him for followup and he would check my labs and help any way he could.
  9. Awesome story, made me cry a little. My daughter is also overweight and she went with me to Mexico for my surgery. I am hoping she will consider this while she is young and have all the healthy years ahead of her.
  10. I'm four weeks today and I noticed a few days ago that I've been drinking like before the surgery. At first it was small sips but I can drink normally now and take bigger drinks with no problem.
  11. I love Tae Bo and it gets easier if you stay with it. But I got a video for hip hop dance and OMG, it is a true work out. You feel it everywhere and of course dancing is fun. I just a Biggest Loser workout but haven't tried it yet.
  12. Great question. Is there a chewable calcium citrate that isn't disgusting? Is there a liquid for it? I got a chewable from the Vitamin Shop and it is so gross, very sour.
  13. Lisa, I had a gorgeous candy orange Honda VTX 1800 but I sold it to help pay for my surgery. It was worth it, but I really miss it. I think I'm gonna buy one just like it next year or possibly a new Harley Street Glide.
  14. I will be 4 weeks on Friday. We have lost the same amount. Sounds like you had a rough few weeks. Sorry to hear that. I had the exhaustion for a couple of weeks then felt great. This is such a great tool and it's so exciting to feel the clothes getting baggier. Continued success, it just gets better from here on out.
  15. I work next to an awesome soup and salad restaurant and have been dying for one of their salads. I'm just scared to try one yet but I have been able to eat pretty much anything so I may give it a try this week.
  16. I love Salsa and Chipotle. I started using it at 2 weeks post op with no problems. The only thing I have noticed is everything sweet is now sweeter and anything spicy tastes even more spicy.
  17. It will be interesting to see what it says. There's no way we could eat that many calories now so I'm curious to see what they say. I'm joining a gym tomorrow and I hope working out for the first time in a while won't be too hard since I'm newly sleeved. I'll be curious to see what those results say. Keep us posted.
  18. Paola, thanks a lot. I think I like "amo mi manga". Chrissy I went to Dr. Kelly in TJ. Love, love, love him. I had a picture perfect post op. No pain, no gas, felt like I didn't even have surgery until the exhaustion hit me about day 6. But at about 15 days out I felt compeletely back to normal.
  19. I was sleeved on Nov. 4th and I just went through an 11 day stall. I was getting about 400 calories a day so for 2 days I increased it to about 700 and on the 3rd day I lost a little over a pound and then the next (today) lost about a 1/4 lb. So, it definitely happens between the 2nd and 3rd week. I'm a control freak too so I know how you feel, it's frustrating.
  20. I woke up with some nausea but no pain, no gas and felt awesome. I don't drink enough water but that's because I don't try hard enough to remember not because it won't go down. I have felt very blessed to have no complications or problems whatsoever.
  21. For any of you that speak Spanish, I want to get a tattoo that says, "love my sleeve" in Spanish, since I was sleeved in Mexico. My freind from Honduras doesn't know how to spell it since shirt sleeve and tatto sleeve are different and he doesn't have a clue about a stomach sleeve. Does anyone know how it should be spelled? Thanks.
  22. You should probably have Schwan's near you. They deliver to your work and home and they have the worlds best frozen veggies. You can even preorder online from their website. They have the best blends of veggies with just the right seasonings. The mediterranian blend and the brocolli and cheese are 2 of my favorites.
  23. My Dr. said wait 4 weeks to exercise and 6 weeks for anything more like weights. But I love resistance bands, they are pretty reasonable at Wal-Mart. You can also get some workout DVDs at Wal-Mart like the Biggest Loser workouts and they are fun.
  24. My Dr. said to wait 4 weeks to work out but said I could swim after 2 weeks. This Friday will be 3 weeks so I'm ready to go to the gym and atleast swim and play a little basketball or racketball with my daughter.
