  1. Hello, all! It is my sincere hope that all of you fellow texans are doing well. I got my world turned upside down October 2012, my husband of 22 years and I will be apart forever, soon. I have always been a stress eater, and have been backsliding by eating lots of carbs. I am not a sweets person, but the carbs are doing me in somewhat. I have maintained my activity level, but eat stuff I shouldn't. I continue to take my Vitamins and B-12 My question is, should I just "start over?" I could find an old diet from when I began on solids. thoughts? I'm just so sad and angry right now. Sigh...

  3. Hi all! I know it's early now, but I am an avid Tabasco person. Now that I am 2 weeks out, I seriously miss hot spices in my soups/ foods. When might it be safe to reincorporate spices and what did some of you sleevers reintroduce first? Don't want to injure myself!! :-). Thanks! Roz
  4. I was sleeved May 18 with Dr Hilmy in Harlingen Texas and I love the thought of being a Red Velvet! I'm 47 and taking things slowly at home. My mom (77) came down from San Antonio to stay and I really dread her going back soon! My husband and son are very busy, and I know I will find myself alone soon during the day. When did you all start to drive again? I am just a bit anxious to get out and about again!
  5. Thanks for the words about the cysts, I've mostly been trying to keep the fluid intake up. It seems that I can take more fluid now than before, and pain management has become like clockwork! I even got in my mom's car to ride along and pick up my son from red cross lifeguard training. He passed! Yay! Well, time for more happy juice!

  7. Thanks so much!!!!
  8. Hi I'm near South Padre Island and 36 hours post op. I'm home and thankful I had an amazing, positive doctor and my mom is down from San Antonio to help. I know I did the right thing fir my LIFE! And know that the pain is only temporary. Good luck to all of you!!! I'm so glad we have this forum to express our journeys!
  9. Thanks all!! Now I'm home and trying to adjust to the pain! Woke up just a while ago to take pain meds. I normally avoid pain meds to be strong, but I have a feeling I shouldn't on this one. They are kicking in and I'm so glad. 36 or so hous out! Am I being a baby?
  10. Good for you!!!! Keep with the program!!
  11. I'm in the hospital 24 hours after surgery and thinking, this is a great place to air concerns and questions! We are blessed to have it. I know that the next days and weeks will be challenging, but I'd rather have that than a shortened life at the end. They took two cysts from my liver and sent them off to be evaluated. We will see what that brings and act on it if necessary. Thanks for having this board!!!
  12. Great to hear you are ok! I'm going in today, and I'm excited! I know you are going to continue to do great!
  13. Today is my day to change my life forever! Thank you to all of you for all of the pre-op advice! I'm a band director at a large high school, and my colleagues and students have been so wonderful! Thanks for any prayers you all can proffer and I'll see y'all on the flipside!
  14. Thanks to all! Just today and tomorrow of this before the big day and the new part of my journey!!! Wednesday can't come soon enough!
