The Reasons Why We Eat
I've never been an emotional eater but I did realize after surgery that I am addicted to food. When you have such a small stomach and you are not hungary and you still want to eat, you are addicted to food. I love food. It has taken me the past 4 1/2 months to realize I can still love food. I do know that I had no self control over portion size and the sleeve has been my salvation there. Now I can enjoy food, just less of it. The thing that has surprised me the most is how I don't crave bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes like I thought I would. I think a bad bread experience early out solved that.

Turkey Meatballs
I buy a bag of turkey and pork meatballs from Schwan's. They have some spinach and mushrooms in them. I hate mushrooms but they must be ground up because I can't taste them. I keep a bag in the freezer at work. They are sooo good.

The Kind Of Eggs You Eat
I've been very lucky, I've never thown up with the sleeve and I could eat any kind of eggs early out. But my favorite are eggfaces egg bites. I make them with all kinds of different ingredients and it's a good on the go breakfast for several days.

Question Of The Day Thursday
"Mi Vida Loca". My life has always been a little crazy. From being a cop to being a single mom. I've always had something exciting going on. And everyone thought I was crazy for having the sleeve done in Mexico.

Question Of The Day Tuesday
I've been remodeling a house I bought and I've been up and down a ladder painting, bending to clean and repair things, pulling staples out of the floor and on and on. I would have been so miserable doing that 60 pounds ago. I look forward to Disney World with my daughter this summer as well as the rollar coaster and water parks here locally. My 11 year old will enjoy me alot more this summer.

I Think I Need Help!
If all I had was a shake for breakfast and a shake for lunch, I would be doing the same thing. Why aren't you eating real food? I eat 5 or 6 times a day and only one shake as a snack.

Has Anyone Gone To Mexico To Be Sleeved?
I went to Dr. Kelly and it was the best decision I've ever made. I would do it again in a heartbeat and staying in a hospital and not a clinic was peace of mind for me. My dad and daughter went with me but I would have been fine by myself. My daughter is now considering the sleeve and will also go to Dr. Kelly. I wouldn't trust my child to just anyone but I would trust her to Dr. Kelly and his staff. I was only 257 to start with and in just under 4 months I am 197 today. I've never lost 60 pounds in 4 months on my own.

How Many Grams Of Protein Are Your Doctors Suggesting?
My doctor said 60 but I don't think it's enough. I try to get between 80-100 a day.

I think I'm hungry a lot too but it's not like the hunger before and I just try to make healthy choices, protein foods. I found that protein snacks like Kays Naturals protein chips and protein pretzels are a great crunchy snack. I get them from netrition.com.

Stopped Losing - Need Encouragement
I'm wondering how many calories and how much protein you are getting. If you are working out that much you need to make sure you get enough. I recently increased my calories and protein and was a little scared at first but the weight loss has been steady. I use mfp for all my food logging and it really helps me stay on track.

How Many Calories Should I Be Eating?
I keep wondering about that too. I was sleeved in Mexico so I don't have a nutritionist. I just moved up from 700 to 800 calories and some days I go over a little. The last 2 weeks I've noticed I can eat more and that scares me. I had to go back to measuring everything. I have a week where I lose 3 to 4 pounds and the next week I'm lucky if I lose a pound. There's no consistancy.

Urgent - Advice Needed Please
I can tell you that even though I had a great surgery and the easiest recovery, 6 days after surgery the complete exhaustion hit me like a ton of bricks. I was tired for a week like that and I know for some it lasted longer. If you will need to do anything regarding the house you will be too tired after surgery most likely. Although I would hate to put it off, it might be better for your recovery if you do. Maybe just a few weeks would help.

Will Food Ever Taste Good Again?
About week 7 my taste buds were back to normal and everything tasted good. I kinda wish it didn't.

Sleeve Size
My doctor said he uses a 34 bougie but he sews over the staple line so it's like a 32.

Calling All Food Addicts
I've always loved food. I never thought I was addicted to it until after surgery. I want to eat and crave certain foods when I know I am not hungry. Thank heavens the sleeve prevents me from eating too much. I know what I eat has to be the right things since so little goes in. So far I just fight the food demon, but some days are harder than others. Chocolate is evil and I hate the person who discovered it.

Frustrated No Loss 8days 2 Months Out 17th
You weren't that big to start with and you've lost a good amount. You are bound to have a stall. If you are working out every day you may need to increase your calories a little. My pcp told me to increase mine on days I work out.
