Carbonated Drinks
Then why doesn't the coke eat through the wall of the rest of your stomach? (Maybe it does, I don't know) The coke would be sitting in the main chamber much longer than the moment or two it is above the band. As far as the stomach dieing under the band..... I don't know if it is true or not but I will take your word for it. It seems to me that doctors shouldn't be doing the surgery though if they know this is going to happen. Anyway that is a separate issue than the coke causing erosion. Regardless, you are talking about stomach erosion and the previous post stated something to effect that coke would erode the band. My point I made is that the band does not erode. It is the stomach wall that erodes. Not the band. Anyway I will ask my doc tomorrow, if I don't forget, about the "skin" dieing under the band. That is some scary stuff to think about. Thanks for responding.

Good luck! It is an exciting day I well remember!

Had First Fill Last Week, Painful Bruising!
I don't believe you should normally have brusing and soreness from a fill. I have never had either and the most that has happened was a small spot of blood about the size of the needle. I also have to be on liquids for 24 hours and then mushy food for 24 hours. Are you normally prone to bruising?

I Back And I So Mad With This Surgery
Okay now I understand. Hopefully we can work it out.

6 Yrs....160 Lbs Less Of Me!
That is a lot of weight to lose. And to think many doctors tell their patients the band won't help with big time weight loss.

Stop asking me how much weight I've lost!
I don't like people talking about my weight or my health for that matter. I finally just started telling people I am not telling anyone how much I weigh or how much weight I've lost. That has always ended the conversation and makes them feel uncomfortable. Mission accomplished!

Carbonated Drinks
The coke never touches your band. How can it erode it?

I Think The Free Ride Is Coming To An End.....
Yep, I am thinking it is time to start walking if my broken back can take it. Might need to tighten up on the carbs also to help with my blood sugar. I'm coming up on being banded a year on Oct. 3rd and I would like to reach 100 pounds down by then. I think I can make it if I just buckle down. Or at least I can get close..

I Think The Free Ride Is Coming To An End.....
All of the weight I have lost has been just by eating less. I haven't really watched what I eat or exercised. I do make sure I get my protein, fluids and eat low carb, mostly. Haven't made any effort to track calories or fat. I have just been coasting along. But the last two months I have only lost about 5-6 pounds so I think the "free ride" is coming to an end. It was fun while it lasted.

Anyone Ever Failed The Psych Exam? Or Is It Just Me!
What a different experience I had. My doc just asked if I understood what the band was all about and made sure I knew what I was getting into. Took about 10 minutes and there was no test. Just informal conversation..... I hope it works out for you!

Trying To Sway Me Towards A Sleeve?
A lot of folks on here have lost over a hundred pounds. I should lose close to a hundred within my first year as well. I think the idea you don't lose much weight with the band is a myth that won't die for some reason. Just my opinion.

Is This True?
I don't want to scare you but I see you were just banded. Sometimes it can take a few months for hair loss to start after surgery
-
Is This True?
Lack of protein is not always the reason for hair loss. Sometimes just being put under for surgery will do the trick. I have been losing hair for about three months now. I get enough protein and take biotin and it hasn't stopped yet. Thankfully I had a lot to begin with. Doc says it may take 12-18 months for your hair to recover completely.

Are You Stretching Your Pouch If...
I would think that stretching your pouch would involve a lot of pbing and vomiting.

Bad Experience Already :(
I am glad you feel better and I am sorry you went through that! But I gotta say, that sounds like a major boo boo on the doctors part. I am not sure I would feel comfortable under his care with that kind of mistake.

Penis Size
I didn't/don't carry much fat in that area so I am not seeing any benefits to date. But I assume it is always the same size, it is just a matter of exposure to daylight or not.

What Is The Problem Taking Byetta Shots After Lap-Band?
There is no way byetta could cause the band to erode. You inject byetta into the fat in your lower abdomen, just under the skin, like insulin. It has nothing to do with the band whatsoever. It does make SOME people a little nauseous where they tend to eat less. This is for people with or without a lapband. If you are having trouble getting your Protein and nutrition in with the lapband the byetta could make it harder since MOST people tend to eat less. I have taken byetta and i have a lapband. I am not a medical professional.

Fat Pictures...
I was photo-phobic even before I got fat. So there aren't a lot of pics of me from childhood on. But no, I don't like seeing pictures of my fat self, now or then.

Reconstructive Surgery For Moobs
I'm like you man. The weight loss has created a nice set of boobies on me. Not something I was thinking about with weight loss. If I ever want to wear a snug tshirt again I will have to have surgery. I don't think bench presses and flys are going to fix this.
