  1. Good luck to you! And you are right....... the pre op is hard, but worth it.
  2. Oh okay, Thanks. I had seen it on here before but didn't know what it meant.
  3. What does DH mean?
  4. My surgeon says it is okay to open Prilosec, which comes in a capsule.
  5. My port is about 6 inches above my naval and an inch to the left. It doesn't bother me at all sleeping or moving around and it doesn't show, yet. I got the lap band because I finally came to the realization I was never going to be able to keep weight off through diet alone. I got banded in Oct 11 and so far I consider it a success. Good luck to you!
  6. My hair is falling out too. I have been taking biotin for about 3 weeks. I figure that isn't long enough to tell a difference though.
  7. Ha! I don't think i am superior to anyone. I thought what she said was funny. Sorry if you had a bad day.
  8. 4 weeks, but he put 3 ccs in during surgery
  9. Thanks for that info. I do notice on here that a lot of peoples docs give fills before the 6 week mark and do not use fluoroscopy.
  10. Yes I am now. But of course I wasn't always. Never had a problem with people eating in front of me. It has no effect on me.
  11. Wal Mart online carries Atkins shakes and other brands also.
  12. Proven fact? Okay where is your proof? Not saying it doesn't exist. I would just like to read that study.
  13. Ha. I think they mean tummy tuck. I am laughing because some of these abreviations on here confuse me too.
  14. I would assume the carb drinks pass right through your band to the main stomach. If so, it wouldn't stretch your pouch.
  15. I could care less what someone eats in front of me. Get a grip on yourself first before you get one on him/her/them.
  16. And what do you base your "carbonated beverages" response on?

What do you want to do with your stomach? You can't "spot lose" weight. You can do exercises for your abs when you have clearance from your doc that will tone the muscles in it.
  18. On paper I set a goal of reaching 250 pounds knowing I could do it and also knowing I would want to go lower once I reached it. Does that make any sense? In my head my ultimate goal is 225 which may or may not be possible. I am only 6'1" but I have a lot of muscle so 225 is going to be pretty lean and at 52 I don't know if it will be possible.
  19. I have lost 70 pounds and I can tell the difference in the pressure on my joints (knees and ankles) when going up and down stairs. FWIW..............
  20. I don't count calories either. I just eat less and more healthy than I used to. The weight is slowly but steadily coming off. When it stops I may have to get a new strategy..... until then.
  21. I understand completely. What I am doing is working for me at the pace I want it too.
  22. Holy smoke that is amazing weight loss. We were banded at about the same time and you have blown my doors off. AWESOME!
  23. That is what is great about the band. You can always start over.
  24. I suggest you google Biotin overdose and read the many links. It is possible to overdose on Vitamins. Some more than others. I'm not saying it is likely..... just check it out for yourself. PS: diabetics should be aware of biotin overdose
