  1. I didn't have to do a pre op diet. Some doctors want one if you have a super high bmi to shrink the liver some before surgery. I would advise you to go to the food forum and look for a post on where to order samples. Don't buy a big container of anything yet. If you have a GNC, you can sometimes buy samples there. I didn't find the post op diet hard.. I was so happy to be losing weight every day and I was never hungry. There was someone who just posted that they got a leak at 3 weeks post op. Leaks are rare though. Just follow your doctor's instructions on the post op diet so you don't put any pressure against your staple line.
  2. I got a response to the message that I sent to Alex regarding chat. I told him a lot of us miss the old chat room. He said it would be back in about 2 weeks. I am so happy! Chat has pretty much disappeared since we lost the old chat room. I can be patient for 2 more weeks!
  3. I agree with everyone else too. 800 calories is not a lot. It's not like 1500 or 2000 calories. If you were losing with 800 calories, go back to that and reevaluate if you start to stall.
  4. That's why I explained that. Your stomach is making just as much acid for a regular sized stomach, which you won't have anymore
  5. You haven't even been sleeved a month yet. It will get better. It just takes awhile, that's all.
  6. Most surgeons put their patients on them for 6 months post op. Your stomach is very small after surgery but it seems to make just as much acid as it did when it was the old size. That's why you need acid reducers or acid blockers. Ask your doctor if you should be on them for a couple of months at least, or if you should try without them and see how it goes.
  7. I liked Soy Slender. It's on the shelf not in the fridge. It's not really sweet. I also liked Atkins Strawberry or vanilla n low carb drinks. I think they have 15 or 20 grams of protein. If it's too sweet, you could mix it with some soy slender. You don't have to drink them cold. You can drink them room temp. I like the Syntrex nectar drinks too.
  8. Yeah, they come in chocolate too. I may have to break down and buy some . I want to order some whey gournet peanut butter and chcolate from netrition too, and the shipping is 4.99 for no matter how much stuff you order. Those crisps sound good to put into yogurt. I use Greek yogurt, because it has way less carbs and more protein but it would be good to add a little more protein.
  9. Walmart makes their own version that is just about the exact same thing but much cheaper. I have been using it for nearly 4 years now.
  10. Here you go: http://www6.netritio...s.html#NUTFACTS I personally have not tried them, but people at OH rave about them.
  11. I do get hungry sometimes. It's not that really starving kind of hunger. My stomach growls a little bit to remind me it's been hours since I have eaten. Most of the time, I am not hungry at all. There have been many times that I have forgotten to eat dinner. I am thankful for that because when I was in the hospital with pancreatitis, I could have nothing by mouth for 4 days and I was never even hungry.
  12. I like Oh Yeah bars. they are delicious. They are almost too delicious. I get them at vitacost.com.They have 8 grams of carbs.
  13. I am sorry but it just takes time. I remember being where you're at. I could only eat 2 bites at first for weeks. I had to supplement with protein drinks for a long time until I could increase my bites. One thing that worked for me was to put chicken into my little mini blender so that it was like a paste and used miracle whip light. 2 bites at first, and gradually moved to 3 bites, etc. Think applesauce consistency. Chili may still just be too bulky for you right now.
  14. I totally agree that we need to have veggies in our diets. I know we are supposed to eat Protein first, but a lot of times, I don't. I will eat veggies first because I don't want colon cancer. A good way to get veggies in is with salads. If you're cleared for fresh veggies, I would eat some salad with fresh veggies and chicken breast mixed in. I cut the chicken breast up really tiny and use a low fat dressing.
  15. I didn't tell very many people. I really feel that it's nobody's business other than my kids and a couple of friends. I bet your family will be supportive when you have surgery. They will see how great you feel and look. You are making the right decision.
  16. I lost half my hair and I took everything and anything I was told that would stop hair loss. I got plenty of protein the entire time from the 3rd day of being sleeved over 17 months ago . I do have new growth all over the place and I will be so happy when my hair is thicker. I used to have really thick hair, but now it's really thin.
  17. I can eat anything. There is not one thing that I can't eat. I do get massive diarrhea if I eat a lot of ice cream, but I do have a weight watchers ice cream sandwich almost every evening. I can eat ice cream, just not very much. That's a good thing, too.
  18. Way to go Diva! I knew you would do well. I bet it won't take you long to get down to your goal because you're so dedicated.
  19. The brand I get is Sara Lee. Most stores have them in one brand or another.
  20. http://www.verticals...-drinkspowders/ this link worked for me. I don't know why it's not working for someone else. If it doesn't work, it's right at the top of the food forum under Protein powders- places to get liquid Protein samples
  21. Do you have any idea when you will be able to fix the chat to be more like it was? We had a whole roomful before the changes and the chat room has been completely dead since we got this new VST. I miss chatting with everyone and I am sure everyone else feels the same way. Please keep us updated!
  22. I paid $11 for 11 samples including shipping. The phone number is on that "places to get samples" thread in the food forum under protein powders. http://www.verticals...rotein-samples/ Nectar Syntrax You can get a box of all 11 nectar protein flavors directly from Syntrax for $4.99 plus $5.99 for shipping. 23. I agree with globetrotter. The way it is now, it's just about unusable. It's very frustrating. i have figured out how to navigate around here, but I don't like it. It seems to take forever for the post to come while you wait for all the ads to load
  24. For me, when I am full, the food feels like it's coming up from my stomach into my esophagus. Just try not to eat more food than the palm of your hand, is you're not measuring your food.
  25. The Protein shots that have collagen are not good forms of protein. Of course they are better than no protein at all. Collagen is made from boiled cow hide. I would try the Sytrex nectar if you don't like milky tasting Protein drinks. You can get samples quite cheaply if you look in the food forum under places to get samples. http://www.verticals...rotein-samples/ Nectar Syntrax You can get a box of all 11 nectar protein flavors directly from Syntrax for $4.99 plus $5.99 for shipping.
