  1. I did the best on egg drop soup when I was on liquids. The little bit of egg seemed to fill me up better than anything. The doctor said I could have that before mushies because the way the egg cooks in the soup, it's just like a liquid. I was hungry until I moved to mushies, but as soon as I felt hungry, I found something I could have. I didn't hate the Protein drinks so that helped. I mixed unflavored protein powder into any liquid I could find and it did seem to take the hunger away for awhile, and then I would just drink some more. I also had cream of chicken soup, and blended it til there were no chunks, and that held the hunger off too. You should be able to move to mushies soon.
  2. Your body can only absorb 500 mg of calcium at a time, so make sure you space it out, at least 2 hours apart, 500 mg 3x per day.
  3. I don't agree with that. My daughter had gastric bypass and she can eat about 4 times what I can eat. I would think if my stomach was going to stretch, it would have stretched by now at 18 months post op. It has stretched some, but nothing compared to my daughter. I can eat one piece of pizza and I am stuffed. She can eat 4 pieces of pizza easily.
  4. You can always email his office and they are great about getting back to you quickly. He is one of the most experienced sleeve surgeons in the world.
  5. Have you read the thread "lets count Dr. Aceves patients? I would say he has done surgery on about half the people on this board. What would you like to know? I would be happy to tell you anything you would like to know.
  6. Why don't you just read all the band to sleeve revision stories in here? I don't agree that gastric bypass is better. Weight loss is the same, and with gastric bypass you will be looking at diligently taking all sorts of supplements for the rest of your life . Plus the gastric bypass stomach stretches out and the sleeved stomach is made from the non stretchy part of the stomach.
  7. I hope that you continue to feel better and are able to move on to liquids soon. I am sure this must be very hard for you. I know tiffy always says it was very hard but very worth it. Best wishes on continued progress and please keep us updated!
  8. I really like Greek yogurt with Stevia and I buy frozen blueberries. I put them in the microwave for a few seconds and they get all juicy. Mix it all together and it's like a dessert for me. It's very yummy. some people put sf jelly in there too. There are a lot of things you can do to make Greek yogurt very good. And they do make already flavored ones, but they have more carbs. Tiffy is right though. the sf cheesecake pudding makes it taste very good! There is a good chance your tastes will change after surgery. Many people say things they never liked before, they really like now.
  9. If there is a WLS exclusion on your policy, it's doubtful that they will pay. My insurance booklet says no WLS is covered for any reason. What is the wording of yours?
  10. I am on the Southern Coast! Nice to meet you!
  11. Clear Protein is something like Isopure. It looks like kool aide. You can put unflavored protein powder in crystal light, sf gatoraide, sf poweraide etc. There is also unjury protein chicken broth. Syntrex Nectar also makes some clear protein. Clear protein is not necessarily clear, it can be cloudy but not thick, and no, chocolate is not a clear protein. Full liquid is drinkable yogurt, protein shakes that are thicker, and soups with no chunks in them.
  12. Wow , what are they going to do for you? you need teeth!
  13. Why don't you share with us what you found and what site you found it on? I am sure there are many people looking for a good vitamin.
  14. What does your doctor say? If he said to be on clear liquids for 2 weeks, then no banana. Clear liquids don't necessarily have to be completely clear, but they are somewhat see through. Isopure is a clear liquid. You can put unflavored Protein powder into crystal light, gatoraide, poweraide, etc. It will be cloudy from the Protein Powder, but it's still a clear liquid.
  15. Call them again. Tell them it is very urgent! Also send an email. also tell them you need to hear from someone very soon and ask if you should go to the ER This is nothing to food around with!
  16. Tiffy is right. You need to call your doctor and explain what is going on.
  17. I never counted anything other than protein and carbs. I would imagine if you put protein counter into google you'll come up with several places.
  18. Popcorn is a real slider food. I can eat a huge bag of it at the movies. I do eat nuts too. I am not a drinker but I have had some alcohol and I get drunk now on one drink. You need to ask your doctor when you're cleared for nuts and popcorn though. I eat nuts daily because I believe healthy fat is good for us. Dr. OZ says we all should eat 10 almonds a day!
  19. I am just copying and pasting this from another post where someone just asked the exact same question. As for Protein drinks, everybody is different. I really like BSN Lean Dessert. I get the chocolate fudge pudding, the banana pudding, and the Chocolate Coconut candy. Sometimes I mix the banana and the chocolate together. I get it at vitacost.com If I were you I would get some samples first. There is a thread in the food section where you can order samples from a lot of places. A lot of people like Chike. the orange cream is good. I still get samples just to have some variety.
  20. I like Protonix because it comes in generic and it's very inexpensive. It's as good as nexium or anything else that is very expensive. As for Protein drinks, everybody is different. I really like BSN Lean Dessert. I get the chocolate fudge pudding, the banana pudding, and the Chocolate Coconut candy. Sometimes I mix the banana and the chocolate together. If I were you I would get some samples first. There is a thread in the food section where you can order samples from a lot of places. A lot of people like Chike. the orange cream is good. 21. I think you definitely should go back to liquids for a few days and give your stomach a rest. Is there a Protein drink that you like? You probably also should contact your doctor and tell him/her that you're having all this trouble. Are you drinking any gatoraide ? You need to keep your electrolites (sp?) up. Your doctor may want to give you something for nausea.
  22. Who can afford the clothes people wear in fashion magazines anyway? It depends on what look you're going for. There are those stores in the malls that are for younger people that have all the latest fashions. If you just want to dress nice, I agree that you should just look at the ads that come out in the paper for JC Penny, Macy's etc. Then go to Ross TJ Max, places like that and find them cheaper! One thing I really hate are those really straight tight jeans some guys wear . They look ridiculous. I think the "relaxed fit" looks must better.
  23. I am very happy. It's not the same around here, not being able to talk to my chat friends. The chat room is also important because so many new people come in there when they have questions. We will be up and running again soon!
  24. Good! I will be anxious to hear what he has to say!
  25. I agree. Dr. Campos will more than likely call you back. Are you getting plenty of Fluid besides Protein drinks? Besides your Protein Drinks, you should be trying to get 64 oz of Water, crystal lite, juice, etc. to stay hydrated. Dr. Campos called me when I emailed their office because I felt nauseous. I was in Walmart and I was shocked that he called me. I had expected an email back. I had to go outside to hear him, but he was great. He told me to drink gatoraide or poweraide to get my electrolites (sp?) back up. they both come in sugar free.
