  1. you can buy plain chibonis and put in sf syrups .. I like raspberry. You can also just put splenda or stevia in it. I like to mix in a few blueberries (gotta have some Fiber from somewhere) and some stevia. Its way less carbs to buy plain and figure out a way to flavor it. There are a lot of ways. People use sf jam too.
  2. You can make Protein hot chocolate out of any Protein powder. Just mix up a scoop of your favorite chocolate protein powder in a little bit of room temp. Water. Wisk is well. Get a coffee mug and make the water very hot. Then wisk together your protein powder water and it's yummy!
  3. Hi vsg friends! I have a male friend coming to town for a couple of days. I need some movie recommendations. I hate walking around the movie store and reading boxes wondering if it's a good movie or not. Anyone see anything that is not an action movie or a chick flick , something that would seem good whether you're male or female? it doesn't have to be a new release.
  4. I find Carbmasters to be really bland too. Bland is a perfect word for it.
  5. Dumping does not necessarily involve the bathroom, although for me, it does eventually. It was probably the fat in the Peanut Butter. I get it when I eat something sweet and full of fat. I get nauseous, dizzy, sweaty, and eventually diarrhea. It does not happen very often anymore, now that I am so far out from surgery, but in the beginning, it happened when I ate something full of fat.
  6. I like the nectar chocolate trufffle. Go to the thread where it says places to order samples. Get a bunch of samples and find out which one you like instead of buying a big jug of something you may not like.
  7. You pretty much can't find yogurt with that low of carbs, Greek Yogurt has less carbs and more protien. a lot of people like carb master that you can get at Krogers. I think it's tasteless. I like Chiboni yogurt the best. I also like Brown cow that I get at walmart.,
  8. Dr Aceves is not doing plication because he feels it has more of a chance to stretch out than cutting the excess stomach away. I trust his judgment because he is a fabulous surgeon and I feel he does his research and knows what is best for his patients.
  9. I didn't have any pain so I am no help. Are the pain meds making you throw up because they are too big and hard to get down? You can get liquid pain medication. Call your doctor! Call your doctor and explain that you are not only in pain, but you are nauseous. You can get something for nausea too.
  10. There are a lot of us who had surgery in Mexico. I haven't had any follow up either. There is a lot of information online. Stalls are normal. For the most part you should have 60 or more grams of Protein per day, 30 grams of carbs, 64 oz of Water and 1,000 calories. You can google a vertical sleeve diet and you should get a lot of information. Somebody just posted something from a website which I think was from Cornell University but I don't know how to find it. I bet someone will provide the link for you.
  11. I had pancreatitis and it is very painful. It was resolved quickly when they took me off of all food and Water with only an IV. I hope your clot dissolves soon. I am sure it's miserable being in the hospital, but at least you're getting the rest you need and hopefully this will be part of your post op diet. Everyone hates the liquid part of the post op diet, so I hope you can skip that part.
  12. Congratulations! It's really great that you did not say the heck with it . I get so frustrated when I am not losing that I feel like I may as well eat, I am not losing anyway! You look beautiful!
  13. Aceves recommends Dr. Luque. My boobs are completely gone . I am an A cup. I am smaller than I was in High School. I am too afraid to get new ones. I am afraid they will feel weird and i am afraid of losing total nipple sensation.
  14. The band is nightmare. I am so happy that thing is out of me!
  15. You'll find many happy sleeved people here who have gone to dr. aceves. Look for a thread called "lets count Dr. Aceves patients in the search bar. He is very experienced in band to sleeve revisions.
  16. Sounds like you're having spasms. Try drinking something warm first to relax everything inside.
  17. I take half a dose of miralax every day. It works wonders. I have to take iron and I know that's constipating. I freak out when I forget to take it because I know how badly I need it. Some days if I haven't had much in the way of veggies, I take a colace too. My doctor says this is fine as long as I drink a lot of water. Luckily, drinking water is not a problem for me.
  18. Eating healthy fats is a good way to stabilize weight loss. Nuts are often suggested by doctors as healthy snacks. As Tiff suggested, peanut butter is another healthy fat. You can eat it on crackers. I like to smear it on apples. You can eat more fruit too. You may have to concentrate on eating small amounts more often.
  19. I can't comment on any other dr besides dr. aceves and there are not enough wonderful words to express how great he is. I didn't mind paying a little bit more. My peace of mind was worth it. he is so great, his staff are all wonderful and the hospital is so clean and nice. I felt like I was in the best hands possible with 3 leak tests.
  20. I have little short hairs all over the place and it makes my hair look really fuzzy. I am just glad it's finally stopped falling out and I have new hair coming in. It took a long time for me to stop losing it between band surgery, revision to sleeve, and then gall bladder surgery. All are a shock to the system which causes hair loss. I am so happy now when I wash my hair and I don't have 4 big handfuls that fell out to deal with!
  21. I am so proud of you Diva! You are so dedicated and an inspiration to everyone!
  22. I am past 18 months out. I eat anything I The other day I had McDonalds chesse burger . I hadn't had one in years and that is what I was craving. I ate most of it and just tore of the edges of the bread where there was no meat. Sometimes I take my kids to pizza. I can eat one piece of pizza and no, I am not depressed that I can't eat more, I am really full and more just looks like it would make me sick. Yesterday I had turkey and salad. Later on I had a piece of pecan pie. But usually, for Breakfast I have a Protein shake. I love them. The ones I like the best are called BSN Lean desert. You can get them at vitacost.com and their shipping is 4.99 no matter how much you order. They have all sort of good things there. I like the fudge pudding and I like to mix it with the banana pudding. I love the coconut candy one too. lunch is sometimes rolled up virginia baked ham and a piece of colby jack cheese, maybe sometimes with about 4-5 Kellogs multi grain crackers. Or sometimes I have something left over from when I ate out the night before. Sometimes I have part of a lean cuisine. (Can you tell I don't cook? I go out for dinner a lot and always have plenty to take home. I don't regret this surgery for one second. It's the very best thing I have ever done and I am thrilled with the sleeve. If you have anymore eating questions, just ask me. Send me a pm anytime . I will look for your posts to see how you're doing.
  23. Are you on an acid blocker? Most doctors prescribe medication for stomach burning . If you aren't on one, call your doctor.
  24. Are you eating slowly and taking very small bites? It's very important to chew the food very well when you are new. Try taking itty bitty bites and chewing it very well. Wait between bites and see how it's sitting. You have to learn to eat differently when you are newly sleeved.
  25. I just went back on mine after being off for 6 months. I definitely notice a difference. I did have acid but I also had stomach aches that felt like hunger. My experience from being off for 6 months and going back on is, I would rather feel better than have stomach aches because I thought I was supposed to try to get off this medication.
