  1. Try out the chat room! We love to talk in the evenings and it's nice to have people to share with. Just click on chat on the top right corner of the board!
  2. Globetrotter that is too funny! I can only imagine what someone thought when they found your box. They probably felt like they hit the jackpot. Blackberry, the thing that will help with that is testosterone cream. You have to get a prescription for it, but it works sometimes too well, if you use too much~
  3. There are some no sugar added Popsicles that are made of fruit juice. They don't have sweeteners. There is no reason you can't have sugar if that is what you choose over artificial sweeteners. I hate aspartame too and try to avoid artificial sweetner. I would just rather eat real sugar if I am going to have a small treat.
  4. My nutritionist says that Splenda can cause hunger. He says that our bodies do not know the difference between sugar and sugar substitutes. That does not mean I don't use it. spenda also causes gas for me.
  5. You are doing great. Your food for the day looks great. If you can fit some exercise in there, it should speed up the weight loss. Find something you like to do for at least 30 minutes that will break a sweat. Stop worrying that the sleeve won't work. People lose at different rates. I went on a lot of stalls, but eventually I would drop again.
  6. You look great! You'll be down to goal in no time at all. You're doing such an awesome job!
  7. It depends on what you binge on actually.I can eat an awful lot of Cookies, nuts and chips. Crunchy dry things seem to go right down my sleeve. Dense Protein -chicken , steak or any kind of beef, that's another story. You will develop new eating habits while you are on the post op diet., eating soft foods or being on the liquid diet. You get full very fast the first few months or even up to a year. That does not last forever though, so I think you're smart to see a therapist about this. You can binge if that is really want to do.
  8. I eat anything I want. There is nothing that causes me any problems. I'll be 2 years at the end of April.
  9. I am not going to make it down to where I wanted to be. For some reason I seem to have stalled at 135 and it won't go down. It has no trouble going up if I eat one wrong thing. I am going to keep at it and try to get down to where I was before my birthday. That was when I went a little nuts eating too many desserts and never dreamed it would not come back off.
  10. There is a thread in the food section where you can find samples of all sorts of Protein drinks. I would not stock up too much ahead of time because people say all the time that things they liked before surgery, they hated after surgery. There are many good protein drinks that are 120-150 calories and low in carbs. Some people just hate all protein drinks!
  11. Does your surgeon know that you're having trouble keeping things down? It's very easy to become dehydrated. That just causes more nausea. I would call the doctor immediately and not wait for the day of your follow up appointment.
  12. I did too. You are taking in so few calories, even though peanut butter is high in calories, you would have to eat an awful lot of it for your calories to be too high for the day. Plus peanut butter is pretty low carb anyway.
  13. I will be 2 years out at the end of April. I can tell you that I can eat way more than I could a year ago. It's okay. Just because I can, doesn't mean I need to. I am still not hungry, so I eat small portions even though I know I could eat more. I did get to goal and stayed there for over a year until this last October-November. My birthday is at the end of October and I had a lot of friends taking me to dinner and lunch. Of course they wanted to split dessert. Then thanksgiving and Christmas. I have really been having trouble getting it off . I gained 8 lbs in 2 months and for some reason, I am stalled out after only losing 2 of those extra lbs. Next week should be better cause I will be able to exercise more. I pretty much eat the same things I have been eating ever since I moved to solids.
  14. I say drink what you like! If you're sick, you probably aren't eating a bunch anyway. You can count calories later!
  15. I like muscle milk light RTD but it's only 20 grams not 30. It is sweeter than Premeire though. I still have my old box of Premeire. It would suck to buy a new box and have them taste awful. I will have to taste them in the store. costco is 100 miles from my house so I have to know if I like it. My daughter had gastric bypass and she likes Oh Yeah Protein drinks. They are RTD too. You'd probably have to order them online. If you have GNC at least you could taste one though.
  16. I mix it with water too. Sometimes I put it in crystal light.
  17. I will be 2 years post op in April and I can eat WAY more than I could a year ago. There is a reason they say that the first 6 months is the honeymoon period. I definitely have to watch every bite I put in my mouth now. I think our bodies adjust to the small amount of calories we were feeding it for so many months. I think that's why I gain now if I stray from my plan and eat something I am not supposed to eat.
  18. Straws must be okay because everything Dr. Aceves brought me in the hospital came with a straw.
  19. My food tastes never changed and now that I am nearly 2 years post op, I really can eat anything I want. I enjoy a variety of food and I never feel deprived. This is the !
  20. you don't need to worry about giving up certain foods. In the beginning you can only eat tiny amounts of food. That does not go on forever. Eventually, you'll be able to eat anything you want in small portions. Honestly, there is nothing I can't eat. If I choose to fill up on bread though, I don't have much room for much else. I can eat half a sandwich now though..
  21. The only way I eat chicken breast is in a salad and the salad dressing moistens it enough. Otherwise, I eat the legs or the thighs which are much more tender and juicy.
  22. yes of course we stretch. We go from only being able to eat a few bites right after surgery to about 4 oz of dense protein. It's different for the type of protein you are eating. We can't eat as much steak or chicken as we can mushie foods like 8 oz of yogurt. It is stretched all that it's going to stretch though at that point.
  23. Okay I have not counted the exact number on this thread, but I do know that not one person was unhappy with anything regarding their hospital stay or their surgeon. That has to say something for the team down there. Dr. Aceves may charge a little bit more than some of the other Mexican surgeons but his reputation gives everyone peace of mind and that is worth a fortune to me!
  24. If you can get half down, you're doing good. It will all come in time. Just sip best as you can and try to sip some water or watered down juice in between.
  25. Don't try to push it . things will get better. Can you drink protein drinks at all? Or isoure? Lots of protein there
