  1. My Protein Powder made with Water is 120 calories. A lot of people put strawberries, etc and blend them up until they're liquid. There are ways to get more calories in. I agree though. During the post op phase, it's not all that important for all the liquids to be sf other than sugar causes cravings.
  2. You can build muscle in your arms to make them look better, but not good. It really depends on how much skin was stretched out there. Building muscle in the triceps is difficult but can be done. I've been working on it ever since I was sleeved and I only see a slight improvement.
  3. Dr. Aceves is always available through email. Usually it's Dr. Campos that is the one that calls back. It's very frustrating to read everyone else say that they have no gas. I haven't had any today. there are some days where it's like every 5 min. I am one of the few people that dump too. I get really sick if I eat something high in sugar and high in fat. Of course I don't do that very often. Once I had a small piece of wedding cake and it was extremely horrible.
  4. I have a terrible gas problem. It's limiting what I can do in my social life. I did go online and found some pills that supposedly if you take every single day, it won't smell offensive. I took them once and threw them up. It may have been because I took them on an empty stomach. I do know if I am really careful about what I eat all day long, I can go out socially that evening. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why I get the gas. It's a huge problem though! All I know is, I never had this problem when I was banded or before WLS.
  5. You need to find a Protein shake that you like. In the food section, there is a thread that shows all the places you can order samples. Good mushies are egg, tuna or chicken salad. Make it soupy with a lot of low fat mayo. Also string cheese, soft deli meats like deli turkey and there is a recipe in the food section for a ricotta bake that is good. A lot of people eat a lot of chili during the mushi phase. Make sure you chop up the group meat very finely.
  6. I am really sorry to hear about your leak. That has to be very difficult not being able to eat or drink. Hang in there! You're getting skinnier and skinner by the minute and it will be so worth it in the end.
  7. you'll lose. Just keep doing what you're doing . You are eating right. It does go much slower for people who aren't all that big to begin with.
  8. You are not eating nearly enough Protein. Your body is holding on to weight because it thinks it's starving. Most people need at least a min of 60 grams of protein per day but 80 is better. Again, most people can't lose very well unless they cut their carbs to around 20-30 Try that for a week and see what happens!
  9. BSN lean dessert is my favorite. I like the chocolate fudge pudding. I like the banana pudding too and I mix the two together sometimes.
  10. Things will get back to normal eventually. I eat pretty much anything I want. I know how much I can eat and I make adjustments but I do eat anything I want to eat every day.
  11. Great News. I hope you continue with this person so you can keep getting all the help possible to be successful.
  12. You need to talk to your doctor. Most doctors put their patients on an acid blocker for at least 6 months after sleeve surgery. It definitely sounds like acid and you need a prescription.
  13. Well thank you! I wish they would just take that band off the market and save people from so much misery! The sleeve is definitely a far superior WLS!
  14. Way to go Irene! I knew you would love the sleeve. I got my band out as fast as I could as soon as I found out about the sleeve. I want to go into that band chat room every night and tell anyone who has not had their band surgery yet to read about band to sleeve revisions. We can't all be crazy! I can't wait to Celebrate all your other goals with you. i am so glad you are over here now and not over THERE!
  15. When you say you are not eating low carb, how many carbs are you eating?
  16. There are lots of slider foods that are healthy. Yogurt is a perfect example. Slider foods are foods that go down very easily and don't give you that really full feeling like 3 oz of chicken breast would do.
  17. Mexicali is very safe. Dr. Aceves is one of the best sleeve surgeons around. You would fly into San Diego and be picked up by their driver. The hospital is very clean and safe. Over half of the people on this board have gone to Dr. Aceves and nobody felt unsafe for one minute.
  18. I sleep all over the place. I don't sleep on my stomach though. I switch from my back to my left side to my right side. It was not a problem. I wasn't in any pain no matter which position. I didn't use any extra pillows or anything either.
  19. Find all the consignment and thrift stores. There are also some really good clearance sales going on right now. I was able to get brand new clothes when I was losing for $2-4 at Macy's clearance sales. JC Penny has some good ones too.
  20. You are very new to being sleeved. Now that I am close to 2 years post op, I eat a fairly normal diet. There is nothing really that I can't eat. I don't have to chew as much as I used to , but I still chew more than someone who isn't sleeved. It gets easier every day!
  21. Yes you can add those things. You aren't supposed to have any chunks so put it in a blender if you're putting chunks of fruit in there. The SF syrups work great for this!
  22. a lot of the grocery stores are now carrying muscle milk in their refrigerated sections. I like the muscle milk light in chocolate. The one that isn't light is good too. The banana is terrible. Some stores carry the Oh Yeah brand too. They are good too. Most stores carry Atkins and I think they are fine.
  23. i drink sf hot chocolate in the evenings and they are only 25 calories. a sf fudgesicle is 40 I think . The thing that works best for me is herbal tea. I put some stevia in it and sip it all evening long. lots of flavors out there. I admit too, the head hunger in the evenings can be unbearable.
  24. I know that Dr. Aceves oversews.
