Delima
yes, a tiny bite of each is not going to hurt a thing. Make sure you savor every bite and enjoy it and eat it slowly. You might get full really fast so that's why I say take it slow

Obstructed by a "bezoar", has anyone else heard of this?
I eat celery in tuna and chicken salad all the time. I cut it up very tiny. I think it's fine if it's cut up small and chew it up very well. Anyone who still sees their doctor can ask them. Since I went to Mexico, I can't talk to Dr. Aceves. I'd be curious to hear what other doctors say.

How much carbs is enough
Most doctors want at least60 grams of Protein per day, or more if you can do it. Many people who lost all their excess weight kept carbs to less than 30 grams per day.

I've been eating Greek yogurt for so long
Choboni (sp?) is so smooth and creamy it is like a dessert. I am really glad more stores are starting to carry it and the price seems to be coming down. As far as the syrups go, my favorite has to be raspberry. It's good to put in Protein shakes too. Some of the flavors really don't taste very much like what they are supposed to taste like. It's definitely trial and error with the sf syrups.

Any advice??Band has slipped a 2nd time now considering the sleeve
Read the section of the board band to sleeve revisions. There are so many of the same stories. I was thrilled when I heard about the sleeve and could hardly wait to have my revision surgery. The band is a nightmare and living with the sleeve is pretty effortless.

I've been eating Greek yogurt for so long
There is definitely a difference in the taste and texture of Greek yogurt too. Choboni's is so smooth and creamy. Dannon is now making a greek yogurt which is not very good at all. The other two good brands are Oikos and Fage.

food confusion
As far as fiberous foods go, I do remember someone writing in here that they had to have something removed with a scope that would not digest. I can't remember what it was though! For the most part, you can eat anything after your're approved for full diet. It all boils down to how fast do you want to lose? If you keep your carbs low, under 30 grams you will definitely lose faster. Personally, I like to have some fruit sometimes and that's where I get my carbs from. After you get to your goal weight, it's a juggling act after you meet your Protein needs to see what else you can eat without gaining weight back. There is no hard and fast rule that you have to stay off carbs forever.

My Willpower
You go girl! I don't think I have that kind of willpower and that's what how I gained that weight back. I need to take lessons from you!

Is anyone having problems with bowel movement?
This is a problem with most sleevers. I swear by Miralax. I take a half a dose every other day and it's great. It used to be a prescription and I remember my .mother's doctor prescribing it to her and telling me it's perfectly safe to use every day

What could have triggered this
I really think having more food choices will make living and losing with the sleeve much easier. I know we are all impatient and want to be at goal as fast as possible, but we all get there at our own rate. Most people do reach their goal with the sleeve though and you will too!

Come
It depends on what time zone you are in . I am on the west coast and there are a lot of west coast chatters. I try to remember to check around 6 pm pacific time. I open the window and leave it open and do other things on the computer. I can hear the door bell ring when someone logs into the chat room.

Vitamin D deficiency
Everyone is deficient in vit D these days. It's only recently that doctors started checking for it regularly. Mine was really low. I could not get it to come up. I finally contacted Michelle at Vitalady and I got the dry vit. d 50,000 which I took once a week. It came up quite a bit but not where I want it to be. My friend who is also a sleeved friend is a nurse, and she had the same problem. She told me to take the 50,000 dry vit d every 5 days and that's what I am doing now. I'll get tested again in a couple of months. So I am with Tiffy. Contact vitalady and get the dry 50,000. It took probably at least 6 months for mine to come all the way up.

Need your hair loss experiences
I would say I lost 2/3 of my hair. I am lucky that I had really thick hair to begin with. I took Biotin from the first day I thought I might have sugery and I am still taking it. I also take a special hair and nails Vitamin. I got my Protein in over and above what was required from day one I used all sorts of special shampoos, including nioxin and biotin shampoo. Nothing I tried made any difference at all. I kept losing it until recently. I have new hair coming in all over the place. My hair looks like it's layered from all the new growth coming in at different times. From what I have read and been told, this is all perfectly normal. I do know some people who did not lose as much as I did, but they still lost hair mostly from 3-4 months until about 9 months post op.I read a lot of articles about it, and there is really nothing you can do to stop it.

You can look around the board or surf the net and leave 2 windows open. then you'll hear the door bell ring when someone enters the chat room. I am leaving the chat window open!

Ice Cream Maker
Was it difficult to make? I don't cook or bake much so if there are a lot of steps to follow , and a lot of ingredients to add in, I 'd probably mess it up. I do want to make Protein ice cream though!

laser skin tightening
Can't wait to hear more. 3,000 is a lot of money but if it works without a big scar , it' worth every penny.

Not Quite A Year Out ...
You look fabulous Mini. I hope you will pass along what the nutritionist had to say. I don't have one available to me so I have no idea what a nutritionist would say about the way we eat.

How much was your self pay?
I had a revision from lab band to sleeve by Dr. Aceves for $10,000. I can't recommend him highly enough. He has sleeved over half the people on this board and you won't find anyone who has anything but wonderful things to say about him, the staff and the beautiful hospital.

frightened and confused...
This is not a diet. You HAVE to learn a new way of life, an eating plan that you're going to be able to stick with the rest of your life. It's good that you're seeing a professional. They are trained in eating disorders and it would be good if a lot of us could see one,. Unfortunately, it can be expensive even though it would be so beneficial. The sleeve is a great tool. It limits your portions, but you do have to learn to not eat when you're not hungry and how to deal with head hunger. Head hunger is a pest in our heads that's always there hiding and whispering. My new best friend is herbal tea.

Dont want the Sleeve
You have a lot of weight to lose no matter which surgery you have. It's going to be difficult along the way regardless of which surgery you have. Studies are now showing people losing as much with the sleeve as they do with by pass. It's wonderful not to have to worry about Vitamin deficiencies, and Iron infusion. The gastric bypass is not as completely wonderful like people are led to believe. You can lose all you weight with the sleeve if you follow all the rules, and have less chance of gaining it back.

Protein shakes and vitamens
I deinitely love Bariatric Advantage chcolate chews calcium citrate. If you put it on auto ship, it's only 9.99. It's not enough calcium to meet the daily requirements so I use a liquid calcium that I get at costco for the rest of my calcium. Or I order then from vitacost.com 9.99 for 60 chewables which are 500 mg each. As far as Protein powders, get some samples before you buy a bunch of anything. You can get the list of where to get samples from the food forum on this board. There is a thread "places to order samples"

What happened to the Pre-op/Post-op sections?
You can send a private message to Alex owner of the board. There is no guarantee he will answer, but I have to say, he does usually answer me.

Gallbladder out almost a year ago
I hope he can get it all figured out for you. It really does not make sense. I guess that's why they are doctors and we are not. you need answers!
