  1. To have surgery by one of the best surgeons around, last I heard, if you don't have a band to remove it's 8750. That includes 3 nights in the hospital and Dr Aceves and Dr. Campos will see you 3 times per day, transportation to and from the airport in San Diego, complete labs, chest xray, ekg, one night in a beautiful hotel after your lab work, and aftercare. You take all your lab work paperwork and xrays home with you, and if you have any concerns after you're home, Dr. Campos will call you personally.
  2. I don't know why I never saw this thread before. I love to work out too. I get really grumpy when something stands in the way of my gym time. I am really getting sick of the weights routine I am doing and I am looking for something new to do. I need to find a book or something to show me how to use the free weights instead of the machines all the time. I am good on cardio. I have a trail that I walk on with a friend that is over 3 miles and is up and down hill, besides doing the ellipitkill machine at the gym and I alternate jogging and walking on the treadmill too.
  3. Not really. Some people are afraid of the calories. Sometimes when I am craving it, I will eat it by the spoonful. It does not seem to make me gain weight.
  4. I love this thread! Yay for Dr Aceves!
  5. I was never told to chew 30 times. I was told to chew until it's liquid in your mouth or soft apple sauce consistency. I take advil with milk, by the way.
  6. You're supposed to be on a PPI for acid right out of surgery. cottage cheese warms up and gets like the middle of lasagna. It's good with spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce.
  7. Current research has implicated Vitamin D deficiency as a major factor in the pathology of at least 17 varieties of cancer as well as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, depression, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, muscle weakness, muscle wasting, birth defects, periodontal disease, and more. Vitamin D's influence on key biological functions vital to one's health and well-being mandates that Vitamin D no longer be ignored by the health care industry nor by individuals striving to achieve and maintain a greater state of health. I know I feel 100% better since I raised my vit D level from 30 up to 80. One of the benefits from having a higher level of Vit D is being deficient in this causes cravings for sweets.
  8. I am going to order some samples. I hope it's not gritty like the PB2. That would be great to add to the chocolate Protein shakes, if it doesn't make them gritty the way the PB2 does.
  9. I always eat salad when i go out on a date. I can eat salad like a normal eater. Lettuce is another thing that chews down to nothing.
  10. Potato chips can be chewed down to nothing. You can fit a lot of potato chip dust in a sleeve. Globbed up chicken, another story.
  11. Sounds like you should order some of the PVL Whey Gourmet peanut butter chocolate protein powder from Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore! 4.99 shipping no matter how much stuff you order and they have a lot of good stuff!
  12. Vitamin D Council | Understanding Vitamin D Cholecalciferol this has been coming up again lately levels should be between 50–80 ng/ml (125–200 nmol/L), year-round.
  13. Your vit D should be way above 30. Do a thread search cause I am not good at making links. There is a whole article on here about the Vit D council.
  14. I will eat half of a premiere bar and the oh Yeah are like Kit Kats. They come in 2 sticks. I will eat one stick for a snack. yum yum. better that than something worse that's pure junk food.
  15. Sergio was fabulous. they all are, but I will never forget visiting with Sergio every night in my room when he brought me Dr. Campos' laptop.
  16. I was told to take my 50,000 units of Vit D3 once a week for the rest of my life. It took me about 3 months to get my Iron levels up. Now I take iron with VitC for better absorption which I got from Vitalady.
  17. I love the PVL peanut butter chocolate from Netrtion too. It's expensive though, so I usually just use davinchi or torrini sf peanut butter syrup and add it to my shakes. I don't like the PB2 at all. I think it's really gritty.

    I work for an attorney
  19. Any doctor who has done a lot of gastric bypasses/RNY can do a sleeve. The experience you need for a good sleeve surgeon is someone who is experienced with staple lines. You have do a lot of staple lines when you do a RNY. The main thing you need to find out is if he has done RNY or DS,not just a band doctor.
  20. It's very important that you take calcium citrate not calcium carbonate. Calcium citrate does not take acid in your system to be absorbed and it's recommended for sleeve patients.
  21. Actually, I was allowed string cheese when I advanced to soft or mushy foods. you could always dip it in pizza sauce. Pizza sauce is also good in cottage cheese.
  22. Most doctors put their patients on a PPI immediately after surgery. I am surprised your surgeon didn't put you on it right away.
  23. One thing I really enjoyed when I was on the liquid diet was egg flower soup from the chinese places. I felt like I was actually eating food instead of being on a liquid diet.
  24. Yes,I can eat anything I want. There is nothing that is off limits. I can eat pizza, half a sandwich, steak, pork, etc. I eat whatever I feel like eating, just a much smaller amount than anyone else. I just had 4 bbq ribs.
  25. Anna you're beautiful! You better wait to get a dress though cause you're still on your way down!
