  1. I had nausea for a couple months after surgery. It was weird. It kind of came and went, off and on. Some days I would wake up with it several days a week. Then it would be gone but yet come back a couple of weeks later. It eventually went away for good.
  2. Chiboni Greek yogurt is fabulous!
  3. Maintaining is the where the real work starts. I can eat more than could before. Now, if a social event comes up where there will be good food and goodies, it's harder to resist. I am constantly weighing myself and having to cut back for a few days when I gain back a few lbs. It's like a roller coaster. Some people have an easy time maintaining at first, but life sets in with fattening foods all around, and it's just plain HARD.
  4. Everyone I know who had their arms done are really unhappy with the scars. The plastic surgeon who did an absolutely wonderful job on my face lift, says he won't do arms because the scars that are left are unavoidable and ugly. I've never actually looked on the plastic surgery forum at obesityhelp for someone who had their arms done to see if they are happy with the results.
  5. People mix it with all sorts of stuff to change the taste. As long as you are able to drink the whole bottle, it doesn't matter what you put in it. You may want to get some samples of the Sytrex nectar. People do seem to like it much better. You can get a whole sample selection online. If you go to the food section, there is a thread on where to get samples of a lot of different kinds of Protein samples.
  6. I am 2 years 4 months post op and I know I have stretched my sleeve all that it's going to stretch. I can't possibly eat more than I could at one year out. Getting too full just plain hurts. That does not mean you can't graze and eat Snacks that cause weight gain.
  7. Everybody has the same fears. You will be so happy when you are small and trim. Just have the surgery and trust the process. It will all turn out fabulous and you will be so glad you did this.
  8. I do have days where I can hardly eat much at all and other days I feel like I can eat too much. It's weird. I have no idea what causes that. Dr. Campos ( Dr Achieves assistant) told me my sleeve has stretched all that it's going to when he did my upper GI in May . I know it's way different when I eat solid Protein than if I eat something mushy like yogurt.
  9. :cake: Happy Birthday Suzanne! I wasn't online much yesterday so I wish I was not late with my birthday wishes. I hope your birthday was wonderful!
  10. I don't count anything anymore. I still eat Protein first. I eat 3 meal a day and an evening snack. I could eat every 2-3 hours but I am not hungry.
  11. I get a lot of gas and diarrhea with the frozen yogurt that you buy in those ice cream stores or yogurt stands. I don't know why because I eat yogurt but it's always non fat and no added sugar. Experiment and see if it bothers you. Just know that if you're eating the kind with sugar or higher fats, it will slow down you weight loss.
  12. I tried to go off mine. I was off of it for 6 months. I finally went back to taking it every other day. This works well for me. I was worried about the calcium thing too but the GERD was horrible and did not go away after 6 months so I am good with taking it every other day.
  13. At my heaviest I was a 3x top and a 24 pants. I wear a small or med top now and size 8 jeans. I LOVE IT!
  14. Put a heating pad on your shoulder. Walk as much as possible. It takes several days, if you're asking how long to feel half way normal. My left shoulder pain was gone before that though. It was easier for me to sip room temp or warm liquids rather than cold. I wasn't allowed Protein drinks for 10 days, I was on clear liquids the first 10 days. Just take a sip not a gulp every few min. Most people do crush all their pills. Buy a pill crusher.
  15. If you're eating Protein first, there really isn't a lot of room for carbs. The carbs I eat are from Greek Yogurt, veggies, some fruit. Sometimes I eat cheese and have crackers too, but they are high Fiber mulitgrain. So, I don't really count my carbs but I don't eat bread, potatoes, rice, etc and this is the way I have been eating since I got sleeved. I have been maintaining at goal for a year and a half.
  16. I don't want to lose any nipple sensation at all. That's too bad too cause I could really use some boobs. I can go around braless now all the time and nobody can even tell. I am flat chested.
  17. The miralax uses the cap as a measure . I use half every day. I put it in crystal lite. I did not find benefiber to be very helpful.
  18. I drink Miralax every day. It's great stuff. Keeps everything running smoothly. It's not fun when I forget to drink it.
  19. I eat salad all the time. it's one of the easiest things for me to eat. I usually chop up chicken breast and mix it in. yum yum! I eat anything I want. I really mean anything! There is no food that I have trouble with.
  20. Way to go! Congrats!
  21. You could very well be hungry because it takes awhile for the hunger hormones to completely leave your body after surgery. I was hungry and I had to drink cons.tantly until I moved to mushies
  22. I have a lot of information about Dr. Aceves and all of his credentials. It should be in the surgeon forum but if you can't find it, I can email it to you. Just send me a message with your email address.
  23. I had an upper GI in Mexical at the same hospital Dr. Aceves did my sleeve. I went there for my face lift in May. I was right at 2 years post op and I wanted to know how my sleeve looked after a couple of years. Dr. Campos could tell me that my sleeve holds 3-4 oz of food. The cost for that was $30. If I had done that here locally, it would have been hundreds of dollars. I never even considered having it done here because of the cost.
  24. It is very rare that I miss food. I am so full, I have no desire to eat. Eating in between meals is another story. They operate on our stomachs and not our brains. In the beginning, you can hardly eat and eating is a struggle. That's the time to make good habits that will last you past the honeymoon period. Trust the surgery. When the hunger hormone is removed, it makes all the difference in the world. There is an old saying around the WLS boards "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" It's true. My sleeve is the most wonderful tool and missing a little food is a small price to pay.
  25. I don't see how it could be possible that the Protein powder that made you feel that way. Why don't you try making it with Water and see if you get the same effect.
