  1. I got it the worse from cheese cake at the cheese cake factory. I had to lay down in the mall on a couch I found for an hour. The room was literally spinning. I've had it's lot of times and it's always if it's something with both fat and sugar.
  2. I do pretty well most of the time. I have to weigh every day. There are some days where head hunger really gets to me and it's aways sweets that I crave. I have to watch my weight cause if I gain a couple of lbs from overindulgence, if I stick to Protein and veggies for a couple of days, it comes right off. Please share whether you're struggling cause you can't stop losing, or do you go up and down and give yourself a few lbs cushion?
  3. I am so glad you went to the hospital . Getting hydrated should make a huge difference. I hope you are on the road to recovery and will soon be very happy that you had this surgery.
  4. I used to be a Dr. Pepper addict too. Luckily I gave that up a long time ago because I didn't like diet dr. pepper at all. I still like a sip of it now and then but that's all I can take.
  5. you know you guys could pick a time and take into consideration any time changes, and you could meet and talk live in the chat room. It's a great place to get questions answered and get support. There's usually a few of us in there in the early evening, but you could put up a post in the daytime and ask if anyone wants to chat, or private message each other and set up a time to meet in there.
  6. What is PBC? I do have a liver disease but I've never heard of that.
  7. egg flower soup is good because it has Protein in it. Another good way to get some protein in your soup is to blend up cottage cheese in tomato soup. If it's too thick , thin it down with milk.
  8. Don't forget sf popsicles and fudgesicles!
  9. You probably would find more people who are able to answer your questions at ObesityHelp.com . Look for the plastic surgery forum.
  10. You need to have labs drawn periodically. Any regular doctor can do that. Have your b12 checked, your Iron, Calcium and D3. You can have an upper GI if you want to at some point. I am 2 years post op and I just had one done when I went back to Mexicali for my face lift. It was $30 there and it would have been several hundred here. Dr. Campos said my sleeve looked great and I hold around 3-4 oz oz of food.
  11. What a beautiful picture! I am so happy for you Tiff!
  12. Way to go! I knew you would do fabulous!
  13. There is a reason that Dr. Aceves patients are so happy. Anyone who would like me to send them some background information about his credentials, just pm me. It was posted in the doctor section, but I haven't been there in a long time to see if it got buried.
  14. Wheetsin I so remember you from LBT! Believe me, you're going to love the sleeve. There is no comparison between the band and sleeve. It's like night and day. I hope your insurance approves you!
  15. This was moved to the social group at or near goal.
  16. What a great NSV! That is just so sweet!
  17. Dr. Aceves is so great. You are in the best hands and you'll still be able to get your sleeve. He is one of the best revision surgeons in the world.
  18. Avoid those protein shots. It's not a good source of protein at all.
  19. If you go to the food section you can find places to order samples . Then you can try a few kinds without having to buy a whole bunch.
  20. Look for the recipe in the food section for the ricotta bake. It's yummy. Greek yogurt is great too.It has much more protein than any other kind of yogurt. If you buy plain, you can mix in sf pudding or sf syrup, like they put in coffee drinks. I like Choboni's raspberry Greek yogurt. It's delicious.
  21. I had a very easy recovery from both surgeries. I was walking around outside of the hospital cause I was so bored in my room when I was sleeved. Living with the sleeve compared to the band is like night and day. I eat anything I want, whenever I want. I don't worry about food getting stuck or "not working" like how you have to give up certain foods with a band. The best part is I am never hungry.
  22. Wow! That's really scary! Who did your surgery in Mexico?
  23. Yes I was under general anesthesia but I also had a spinal. The anesthesiologist explained that I would be in a lot less pain when I woke up because of the spinal. I have to say, I had no pain at all other than left shoulder pain. I don't know what they were sticking in my iv. The first night I had pain in my shoulder from the gas they fill you up with.
  24. I take the generic for Protonix. I tried to go off of it but had too much heartburn . Now I take it every other day. That works great for me.
  25. Dr Aceves says it happens most often with in the first few days, but he said it can happen with in the first couple of months.
