    Impatient- I hate the unknown.

I’m also in Indiana. I was originally scheduled for March 24. My new date is June 4. I was told they are evaluating each case individually and not just by original date. They are slowly resuming all surgeries and there is a lot of competition for operating room time. They said I am getting in early because I am low risk. I was also among the most screwed by the Governor’s executive order. If I were just a week earlier, I would have made it through. Long frustrating story short... No one really knows anything about what to expect from the fallout of this pandemic. We can share stories, but it’s just anecdotal and won’t provide any hard & fast realistic expectations. I have spent the extra time reading through education resources, experimenting with protein sources, cutting bad habits, and trying to drop a few pounds. Hang in there. I know it’s hard.

🥰That’s another negative tape that plays in my mind, too! “You’re losing so much slower than these other people and you’re on your way to wasting this surgery”!!! We’re not wasting a dog gone thing, Rjan!I 😅l love what Cheeseburgh shared with us above—-that around 5 months she really tightened things up, avoided processed foods, kicked up exercise, etc. And we’re not even 3 months in yet! Our first month was just recovering, so we’re only 7 weeks beyond that! I’m really just now feeling more energy, pretty well figuring out what I can eat, what sets well with me and sustains the energy I need, which foods give me the most nutritional bang for the buck, and which don’t. Which foods/routines may be contributing to my constipation issue😩! We’re getting better and better at this.👍. So really? We’re just NOW getting our groove going!! We can take it from here, kick it up, smile at and love ourselves and log in here WHENEVER we need a pick me up! We’re NOT gonna waste this surgery!! So not!!!💪💝😃👏

Thank you, Miss. Moxie! How are you doing!? Do share pictures! (BTW, my parents retired in Virginia Beach after my Dad's last Naval ship duty in Norfolk. I attended Princess Ann HS in 10th grade). 4 months after plastics feeling great - all dressed up and no where to go. LOL. Enjoying our evening walks and grocery runs... Just wear these casuals out. Thankful, though, I had the surgery before this SURREAL reality. Meantime, closet inspiration. Haha. New dress purchased in Feburary yet to be worn.

    Losing it...Again

My advice for you and whatever it’s worth is Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like less then you are. You take care of you and F.ck everyone else and there hurtful remarks because at the end of the day we have to at least appreciate ourselves and love ourselves for who we are at any moment. No one else’s opinion matters. Not even the ones we love because sometimes they can say or do things that hurt and don’t even realize they are doing it. Stand strong! Especially when it’s hard! We are hear to listen and I won’t judge. ESPECIALLY here ya know we are all in the same boats. People that live in Glass houses should not throw stones. Chin up you got this!

    Mild sleep apnea [emoji19]

By the way, the way insurance works usually for CPAP... you initially "rent" it and then after so much time (6 months or a year) you own it. Insurance paid for most of mine, I did have an $11/month co-pay. So if your sleep apnea DOES go away quickly after surgery, you may not have "bought" the machine yet.

    Mild sleep apnea [emoji19]

I was also a mild case - like you. In fact, I think I was also a 5.5. It was pretty borderline. The sleep physician said I should get a CPAP machine, but when I brought it up with the PA at my bariatric clinic, he said he wasn't sure if it would be worth it, since the sleep apnea would probably disappear after I lost the first 20 or 30 lbs, so I skipped it. I don't know if you have that option or not. But I felt the same way - I didn't want to fork over a lot of money for something I was going to use for maybe a month or two tops.

    Pandemic Weight Gain:(

It's really hard to lose the weight when you're stuck at home and don't use the calories you normally use running around all day. I've gained a few pounds. I do Pilates and run most every day. But I agree, the struggle can be very hard. If anyone is about to tell me to work on my food addiction, save it.

    Non-Scale Victory

Hello, all! I haven't posted in a while but I'm back (for now, hahaha). I had RNY in January 2019 and I'm sitting around 274. I've lost about 145 pounds since the surgery but I've been in a weird headspace about it since I'm not yet at goal. I think I put myself in maintenance and have gone back to basics in terms of lowering my caloric intake, watching my macros, and making sure I get at least 64 oz of fluid in. Hopefully I hit goal by the time my 2 year surgiversary rolls around, but until then, I'm celebrating all of the small victories. The best ones to date? I had a doctor's appointment today and the arm cuff fit around my upper arm! And my blood pressure was great, well within normal ranges! I was able to fit in the chair that you sit in to give blood. Being able to let that arm down and have ample space to get situated felt unreal. I told my doctor that I wanted to start TTC next year and he told me that he didn't see any issue with me trying. I could've cried when he told me that. All I've ever wanted was to be a mom and that was my reason for getting surgery; to be healthy enough to become a mother and be able to raise my kids into adulthood. I'm also getting rid of clothes that I'd been saving because I couldn't fit them before surgery and they're now too big. All of that to say, don't let the number on the scale discourage you! It may not be moving the way you want it to, but you are so much more than the number on the scale and the changes you're making will impact your life in ways the scale won't/can't reflect.

    Stomach feels sickly

I also always feel yucky as soon as I swallow that first bite. (I'm three months out.) After reading some of the posts here, I'm going to try smaller bites and more chewing. We'll see if that helps. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app
