    Mexican Food

There seem to be some key words that trigger web links in posts, and those web links are what show the little earth icon in the preview. What *I* wanna know is why the last word in some posts seem to be a lot smaller and italic. [emoji1787]

Why does the earth ([emoji288]) emoji show up when some asks about food? It's not in the actual post, just in the lead to the thread? Just curious. Sent from my SM-T710 using BariatricPal mobile app

Here are my instructions...they may differ from your doctor's instructions...but the boot camp page does give timing for meals/shakes. Good luck! Post Op Diet & Boot Camp (1).pdf

    Surgery in 2 days!

I had stress related reflux before my surgery, suffered terribly from hiccups, was sensitive to spicy foods & had a lactose sensitivity due to a parasite I’d picked up years ago. Post surgery, my reflux is ‘different‘ but it’s managed by daily meds versus ‘as needed’. The big wins were I don’t suffer from the awful hiccups any more & my lactose sensitivity seems to have vanished (I think it was hiding in the part of my stomach that was removed). Still can’t tolerate spicy food but no loss. You have to feel at peace with your decision to proceed with your surgery cause you are going to have to be fully committed to the program & to making the changes if you want to be successful. When they say it’s going to take hard work they’re right but the benefits are amazing. So, so worth it. Good luck with whichever path you chose.

    Surgery in 2 days!

I want to back out I’m so scared of having my SVG surgery in 2 days. My doctor is going to be upset at me. I have Gerd now and I’m afraid to have it later. I don’t want to go through another surgery afterwards. If I were to do the sleeve would I need another surgery 10 to 20 years down the line?

Yep, I had to do the psych eval also. A gazillion ridiculous questions and then an hour long appt with the psychologist. But all in all it was fine. They said I was a good candidate for surgery with realistic expectations. So I guess I passed. I'm scheduled for surgery on 10/27/20 and I just got notification that my health insurance has approved it! I'm not a fan of "always" and "never" questions either. There are very few things in this world that are absolutes.

I got my period day of surgery. They have me a pad and mesh undies for the OR. I was able to use tampons on day 2. I’m sure you can handle a messy day. At least you’ll be in the hospital and on meds.

These are good suggestions, also if you wish to avoid lard you can go with a bowl of charro bean soup or some places have chicken tortilla soup. You will fill up very fast so just be mentally prepared. Enjoy!

    Healthier, But Lonelier

This may not be a popular line of thinking but here goes: <!-- Deep Thoughts, BEGIN --> I think that alot of WLS folks believe that those around them would naturally share the same opinions and thoughts they themselves have about it, because, I mean, its a good thing, right? Why wouldn't anyone and everyone with a heart and a brain support and cheer someone on who wants to better themselves (for whatever reason)? The reality is that not everyone will think the same way as you. Yes, one may get disappointed and hurt when those who we care about aren't on the same page, or react/behave in a way that we don't like/want/expect. Whatever their motivations are, in the end the only thing you can control is YOU. You have 3 choices (in terms of relationships, or anything else for that matter): work to change it, accept it, or leave it (and know when to do which). Anything else is doing a disservice to yourself. I know, easier said. But I think the sooner one can recognize what things help and what things don't help (and act accordingly) for any situation, the sooner one can exist in peace and contentment, no matter what situations or people cross their paths. <!-- Deep Thoughts, END...lol --> Good Luck! P.S. Re: Dating...take it easy and try not to put too much pressure on yourself...like attracts like. Again, I know, easier said. Good Luck! ❤️
